Katherine Heigl "never intended to be difficult" to work with, but she also admits, "I'm fully aware I'm a neurotic actor," and that she's matured quite a bit in recent years. "I'm less afraid of what everyone thinks of me," she tells us. We chatted with the 35-year-old mother of two on Sunday night at the NBC Press Tour party in Hollywood, and she not only went into detail about her relationship with her momager Nancy Heigl (who is an executive producer on her show, State of Affairs), but also opened up about how adulthood has changed her—and made her a bit less "atwitter." Oh, and she also admitted she has two secret career ambitions you fans...

Katherine Heigl will be back on TV this fall in the new NBC drama State of Affairs, which she and her mother and longtime manager, Nancy Heigl, are executive producing. We’ve already begun to hear more about and from Heigl as her small-screen comeback nears. In a recent interview with Marie Claire UK, she said that she’d felt betrayed by Hollywood, that she’d perhaps indulged in one too many rom-coms, and that she had been this close to walking away from showbiz. It made for a lively session at this morning’s NBC summer press tour. One reporter asked Heigl to clarify: How close did she really get to quitting Hollywood? “Not that close, obviously,” she laughed, explaining that she took time off to have a family and “remember what it is I feel so passionately about in this industry.”Another journalist asked the panel for some...

It's no secret Katherine Heigl has a reputation for being "difficult." So of course the question came up at the Television Critics Association press tour session for her upcoming NBC drama "State of Affairs." That does not mean Heigl was ready for it. To be fair, the specific question she had to field involved quite a few different ideas at once. Among them: giving her the opportunity to "clear up" some recent statements about her career, whether or not she thinks her gender plays a role in the criticism she's received, why she chose this role to return to TV and the perception that she and her mother and manager, Nancy Heigl (an executive producer on "State of Affairs"), are "difficult" to work with. Maybe it was the directness of the question, or maybe it was just because she knows this is tricky territory to tackle (no matter how she answers,...

We’re getting closer and closer to Katherine Heigl’s return to television whether we’re quite ready for it or not. NBC has officially picked up Heigl’s drama pilot State of Affairs. It’s been three months since NBC managed to snag the project from an intense bidding war between the networks and once you win on something like that you don’t let it slip between your fingers. I would be incredibly surprised if NBC were to not give the series a full season order. No matter your opinion on Heigl, she has her fans and she’ll definitely have an audience built into the project.

Three and a half years after her exit from Grey’s Anatomy, Katherine Heigl is looking to return to primetime as the lead of a new drama project, which has been shopped to broadcast and cable networks. Fans of Katherine Heigl’s early days as Izzie on Grey’s Anatomy (like, when she was a smartmouthed doctor, before she got cancer and started hallucinating sex with her dead boyfriend) and even earlier days as an alien on Roswell, have no doubt been hoping she can dig herself out of the romantic comedy hole she’s dug herself in recent years. And at last, after this months’ New Year’s Eve and next month’s One for the Money, she’s taking a giant leap out of that hole. Alright guys, let’s just say it. Katherine Heigl is an uber babe. Problem is, she is cold as ice, but there is one thing that all her movies have in common. They show you how to get the actress in 90 mins or less. Here are some things to consider - be an asshole, and wait ninety minutes, pretty simple. Oh, and it’s preferable if you’re slightly unshaven with brown hair. I found this great video that looks at her movies like 27 Dresses, The Ugly Truth and Knocked Up and compares the trend of how she eventually hooks up with these guys. Knocked Up is the only interesting one because Rogen did impregnate her first. That being said, Heigl’s latest film, Life as We Know It stars her and Josh Duhamel as two singles whose friends die and they are left to take care of their child Sophie.

Katherine Heigl will stop aging in her new movie, but she's not a vampire. The actress who left "Grey's Anatomy" to concentrate on family and feature film, has signed up as the lead in "The Age of Adaline". It is an epic love story co-financed and co-produced by Lakeshore Entertainment and Sidney Kimmel.
According to THR, the drama is about a young woman who is born at the turn of 20th century and is rendered ageless after an accident. After "years of a solitary life", someday she meets a man who may be worth losing her immortality.
Katherine and her mother Nancy Heigl act as the executive producers along with Jim Tauber. Meanwhile, Lakeshore's Tom Rosenberg and Gary Lucchesi assist in the production department. "We're on a roll with Tom and Gary at Lakeshore," Kimmel said. "This is a project Anonymous brought to us and we brought to Lakeshore, and it just clicked.
