The Sloth may have gotten off to a sluggish start on Season 1 of “The Masked Dancer,” but he slowly clawed his way into the finale and will now compete to become the first winner of the Diamond Mask trophy. Initially going for laughs, the leisurely creature gradually unveiled hidden talents that have wowed panelists Paula Abdul, Brian Austin Green, Ken Jeong and Ashley Tisdale. With just one episode remaining, the Sloth now hopes to become the first winner of the Fox reality TV dancing competition.
The Sloth delivered his first performance in Episode 2, proving he had a fun sense of humor by dancing to “What I Like About You” by the Romantics on various pieces of exercise equipment. While portions of his routine weren’t exactly graceful, a trained eye like Paula’s saw enough precision between the laughs to pin him as a trained dancer. In episode 3 the Sloth...

Of the four remaining contestants on season 1 of “The Masked Dancer,” the Sloth is one of the best and he could well win the Diamond Mask. He had four judges rocking in their seats when he danced to “Twist Remix” by Neeraj Shridhar on February 3. That routine earned Sloth a slot in the Top 4 competing again on February 10.
We’ve rewatched all of Sloth’s slides across the dance floor including those from earlier episodes: “What I Like About You” by The Romantics on January 6;”Up Where We Belong” by Joe Cocker and Jennifer Warnes on January 13; and “Ain’t That a Kick in the Head” by Dean Martin on January 27. And we’ve reviewed his four clues videos again.
We agree with the judges that Sloth is a professional dancer. However, we think they failed to nail his name in their guesses. Keep reading for all “The Masked Dancer...

“Life isn’t measured by the number of breaths you take, but by the number of moments that take your breath away”. Bollywood’s music has been around 89 years going into 2020 and it’s been taking our breath away for however long we’ve been listening to it. Everyone has a favourite singer, music director and genre which defines for them the perfect song. This of course makes a list of the best songs of the decade a difficult task as they are so subjective to each person. There’s so many perfect songs in Bollywood! Thus, below is a list of some of the great songs of the decade!
2010
‘Pee Loon’ – Once Upon a Time in Mumbai
Music: Pritam – Singer: Mohit Chauhan
Overalapping sounds, lightly classical and a love story blossoming… so simple a formula but this song shows why it continues to work. Mohit is sublime backed by Pritam’s instrumentation.

Here’s something cool! 20 years ago a song titled Neend Churayi Meri from the movie Ishq was shot on Ajay Devgn. Now, for the first time, the same actor is seen performing on his own song 20 years later. Revamped, with new lyrics and well everything, the song is still fabulous.Plus of course there are Salman Khan’s Being Human cycles.

Director Sooraj Barjatya is back with his eternal Prem (Salman Khan) in tow in Prem Ratan Dhan Payo, which looks a fun throwback to the Rajshri blockbusters like Hum Aapke Hain Kaun and Hum Saath Saath Hain. He’s roped in Himesh Reshammiya, who is no stranger to retro sounds with his composing work, which is both his weakness and strength to haters and fans. Yet Reshammiya shows that he’s up to task in recreating the big and grand spectacles of the Rajshri songs. If we were to compare the soundtrack to a food, it’s like a comfort food that delivers the goods for that short while, which is part of the Rajshri treatment that we’re getting after so long.

Action Jackson is an upcoming action/comedy starring Ajay Devgn, Sonakshi Sinha, Yami Gautam and Kunal Roy Kapoor in the leading roles. Directed by the great Prabhudeva, the film is scheduled for release on 5 December and promises to be an adrenaline-pumping action caper. The music to the film has been composed by Himesh Reshammiya, with lyrics from Shabbir Ahmed. So does the music to Action Jackson offer us anything interesting? Read on to check out our thoughts on it!
To kick start the album, we have Keeda sung by Himesh Reshammiya and Neeti Mohan. The song sounds strange to me and I think this is due to poorly produced music by Himesh, as well as bad lyrics too. The song launch event saw debutant Manasvi Mamgai grooving stylishly to the beats of ‘Gangster Baby’. The actress who was looking smoking hot called Ajay Devgn by the end of her performance and Prabhudheva joined the duo later on the stage.
The peculiarity of this song lies in its fast paced beats that make it very apt for a party number. Neeraj Sridhar and Neeti Mohan are the artists who have lend their vocals to this floor thumping track that adds to the action punch of the movie.
The video of the song is filled with sizzling moves and smashing action highlighting the killer side of Ajay Devgn and Manasvi Mamgai.

The latest song promo to release from the forthcoming Prabhudheva film ‘Action Jackson’, is the rock number ‘Gangster Baby’.
The song has been composed by Music Director, Singer, Actor and Producer Himesh Reshammiya. Himesh has proved once again why he truly is India’s first Rockstar, by composing this song. Rock music has generally not been embraced by Bollywood and where it has, it has often been misunderstood or toned down. ‘Gangster Baby’ is one of the first (almost pure) rock songs for Bollywood. Himesh has composed some excellent electrical guitar sections within the song and the piano even makes a cheeky appearance during the opening of the song.
Singers Neeti Mohan and Neeraj Shridhar have lent their voices to this gutsy composition. Neeti has given powerful vocals and this is probably one of her most experimental songs as a singer. The lyrics have been written by Shabbir Ahmed.

Bobby Jasoos is Born Free Entertainment’s second offering after the romantic comedy Love Breakups Zindagi. The film is set in Hyderabad and stars Vidya Balan as an aspirational detective. Balan is supported by an impressive list of artists, comprising of Supriya Pathak (Ram-Leela), Arjan Bajwa (Fashion), Ali Fazal (3 Idiots and Fukrey) and Tanvi Azmi (Dushman).
The musical-lyrical duo of Shantanu Moitra and Swanand Kirkire (3 Idiots, Parineeta) are the helm of the soundtrack, which features the vocals of Neeraj Sridhar, Shreya Ghoshal and Papon (‘Kyon’ – Barfi) amongst others. It is a short fare comprising of 5 tracks, thankfully devoid of any mindless filler remixes.

Homosexuality, gay rights and a traditional Indian family.
Can the above really be placed within the same sentence?
They certainly can and they certainly should be.
This fact has been portrayed through a recently released music video, The Welcome.
The courageous and revolutionary music video stars Bollywood celebrity Celina Jaitley and portrays homosexuality openly within a traditional Indian family setting.
As a young man proudly introduces his male partner to an eagerly assembled desi family, The Welcome inspires hope for family acceptance to both gay persons and loved ones.
Not only does the music video normalise homosexuality, but the openly honest portrayal within an Indian family setting encourages family acceptance of homosexuality.
Indeed, why should homosexuals have to hide and feel they cannot be part of immediate and extended family, when actually, sexuality is not a choice and love is love?

The music album of director Tigmanshu Dhulia's upcoming film "Bullett Raja" has seven tracks, including a remix version. While some tracks can go on to becoming hits, the others could just go unnoticed.
The first track, "Tamanche pe disco", gets you in the dance mode from the first notes. Rdb has its own signature style and the rap is a pleasant change. Singer Nindy Kaur does the female singing. The dance.

One of the first things you notice about the "Krrish 3" soundtrack is that it is lengthy. Composed by Rajesh Roshan, it has seven tracks, including two remixes. While a couple of songs are just average, some are interesting.
The first is the title track "Krrish krrish". Wow! Singer Anirudh Bhola has a presence in the song, but it is Mamta Sharma who gets the attention. The piano plays the signature tune and it sounds.

After being almost two years in the making, Rakesh Roshan’s Krrish 3 finally sees the light of the day this November the 4th. As expected brother Rajesh Roshan does the music for the film. Some say that Pancham, R D Burman, felt that one of the most impressive musicians around is Rajesh Roshan. Whilst the composer has given us some classic albums in the 90s, Koyla, Karan Arjun and Papa Kehte Hai, to name a few, come the millennium we hear very little from the composer except for his work for his brother’s films and the occasional exceptions. Time to see if his latest album for the home production lives up to the high expectations.
Mamta Sharma (‘Munni Badnaam’ – Dabangg) opens the album with Krrish Title track along with Anirudh Bola and Rajesh Roshan’s contribution, although Mama remains the leading voice of the track. Rajesh mixes classical Indian music themes with techno.

One of the most anticipated releases of 2013 is Kapil Sharma’s “I, Me aur Main” starring John Abraham, Chitrangada Singh, and Prachi Desai in the lead. Bollywood loves a “man-child coming of age story” and this time it’s Abraham who has to learn of true love from the many women that he’s upset and taken for granted, through his resourceful neighbour Desai. The music is a mixed bag of tracks from four different music directors, Sachin and Jigar, Falak Shabir, Gaurav Dasgupta, and Raghav Sachar. This makes for an interesting album in comparing the varying styles where the results vary.
Starting off with a remake of the Chalbaaz hit, Naa Jaane Kahan Se Aayi Hai, but to suit the sexy boy of the film and it’s completely addictive. Starting with the iconic melody and launching into the English verses, Sachin and Jigar’s track manages to pep...

Starring choreographer turned director Farah Khan, who is making her debut as a lead actress, the love story of Shirin Farhad Ki Toh Nikal Padi also stars the great Boman Irani. This is not a classic Hindi romance, with the young college students finding love. In fact, this romantic comedy tells the tale of love later in life and finding your soul mate no matter what your age. Produced by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, the film was directed by Bela Segal and is set to release on August 24th. Jeet Ganguly (Mere Yaar Ki Shaadi Hai, and many Bengali soundtracks) was brought in to bring the songs of the film to life. To be honest I had no idea what to expect when I sat down to listen to this Ost, and what I heard did surprise me. Was it a good surprise or bad? Read on!

Sachin-Jigar don’t often go wrong – and the effervescent, fun, poppy soundtrack to upcoming release Kyaa Super Kool Hain Hum (the sequel to the surprise hit, Kyaa Kool Hain Hum) just proves the composer duo are still fully on their game! All the promos for the forthcoming adult comedy (described as a “sex-com”) have been bright, colourful, goofy and peppy – and the soundtrack is fully in line with that vibe.
Dil Garden Garden Ho Gaya has already proven popular with its colourful, goofy, Austin Powers inspired video; and to be honest, I can see why: this song is one of those cheerfully in your face techno-pop tunes that it’s pretty impossible not to like. With a relentlessly thumping bass line, a catchy chorus and sparing use of autotune, with Vishal Dadlani’s voice adding just the right amount of rock “edge” to the proceedings, just try to get this...

From the fun and exciting promos, Cocktail looks like a good romantic comedy that looks to appeal across the board. Saif Ali Khan, Deepika Padukone, and debutante Diana Penty are the friends caught in ménage a trois of friendship and love in London. What caught everyone’s attention was some of that arresting music by Pritam that made sure ‘Tumhi Ho Bandhu’ stuck with you, and left you wanting to hear more. Pritam has also borrowed Honey Singh’s brilliant track ‘Angreji Beat’ which doesn’t come with the album, but the album would be incomplete without such a fabulous tune! Coming off a strong year of good and fun albums like Agent Vinod, and Ferrari ki Sawaari, Pritam definitely impresses here, and he can definitely be counted on to deliver some good songs for a romantic comedy like this one.

Eros International and Illuminati Films have released the making of ‘Tumhi Ho Bandhu’ from their upcoming film Cocktail starring Deepika Padukone, Saif Ali Khan and newcomer Diana Penty.
‘Tumhi Ho Bandhu’ features debutante Diana Penty dancing to the song composed by Pritam on Maiden’s Cove beach in Cape Town. A special set was built on the beach for the song and around a hundred extras were hired with choreography by Bosco.
The song has been written by Irshad Kamil and sung by Neeraj Shridhar and Kavita Seth. Speaking about Tumhi Ho Bandhu, Diana Penty said: “The track is very cool. It’s catchy, peppy and fun. I had a really good time while doing it (filming the song). I am supper happy.”
Speaking about the shooting of the song, cinematographer Anil Mehta said: “We had bright sunshine, it was warm and it was overcast and chilly, all on the same day.

It all started with the snippet of “Bittoo sab ki lega” in the promos, which went viral earlier this year. The song soon stoked the ire of Censor Board who asked for a cleaner trailer, which the producers refused and that phrase has entered the filmi lexicon. This audacious move by the makers certainly got the audience anticipating the rest of the music. One might have thought that the rest of the songs might be in the same naughty vein as a ‘Bhaag Dk Bose’. Along with the music, and hero Pulkit Samrat looking like a distant relative of the Delhi Boy played by Ranveer Singh in Band Bajaa Baraat, the movie certainly looks to capture on the success of their previous Pyar Ka Punchnama. Unlike our expectations, the music is a mixed bunch of tracks that totally get you into the party mood.

From the ‘leaked’ promos and the catchy ‘Papa Toh Band Bajaye’, Housefull 2 looks to be another sure-fire hit for Sajid Khan. However this time around, Khan has roped in Sajid and Wajid to help with the music unlike the usual Shankar Ehsaan and Loy. S-e-l actually did some of their most commercial and innovative work in Heyy Baby and Housefull so the expectations are very high for Sajid-Wajid to measure to those previous gems. However Sajid-Wajid are capable composers and they definitely add their masala sound to this hugely anticipated film.
Papa Toh Band Bajaye or Papa Toh No Speak Americano? Already the song is surrounded by controversy, as their main track sounds suspiciously similar to ‘We No Speak Americano’ by the Australian DJ Americano and Melissa Kool. The beats are quite uncanny as the rhythm and repetition is plainly the same, yet in spite of the straight lift that they’ve done,...

We have an exclusive look at the first song coming from the Saif Ali Khan, Kareena Kapoor starrer Agent Vinod! With music by Pritam, the track with the title ‘I’ll Do the Talking’ was sung by Neeraj Sridhar. The cool thing is that this is Pritam’s take on ‘Rasputin’ by Boney M. He told Toi, “We have taken the rights of Boney M’s Rasputin. However, our song is based more on the Serbian folk song Ruse Kose Curo Imas. Even Rasputin draws inspiration from this song. A Turkish folk song Uskudar’a Gider Iken also has the same melody. Famous Bengali poet Kazi Nazrul Islam’s song Shukno Paatar Noopur Paaye is also based on this folk tune.”
Shridhar Subramaniam of Sony Music added, “The song Rasputin by legendary band Boney M has been an all time favourite. We are delighted that this song will now get a fresh lease of life.

Our leading ladies and item girls will be nowhere near half as attractive without the talented singers that voice their musical numbers. What’s more, while our cinematic experiences with our on-screen goddesses have a time limit, our playback goddesses are always with us in iPods, tablets, computers, radios and more. This year Bollyspice salutes the 10 female playback singers who astounded us with their vocals throughout the year.

After delivering a brilliant album with Mausam and proving his detractors wrong, Pritam is back with the soundtrack to Desi Boyz, an out and out commercial entertainer. David Dhawan’s son Rohit makes his directorial debut with Akshay Kumar and John Abraham reuniting to play male strippers! Promising not to be as bawdy as his dad’s films, Rohit Dhawan definitely has everything going in his favour with a great cast and naughty storyline. Pritam has scored some fabulous music to Akshay Kumar films from Singh is Kinng to Action Replayy but after the lacklustre and noisy soundtrack to Thank You expectations are high for this biggie. The music for the film immediately hooks the listener in but can Pritam really stay away from going overboard and throwing in the kitchen sink too?

Rascals is an upcoming comedy directed by David Dhawan, starring Sanjay Dutt and Ajay Devgn as con-men competing to win the affections of Kangna Ranaut’s character. Described in the promotional material as a “mega-comedy”, if you’ve seen any of the trailers or even the poster, you’ll know immediately if the film is worth your pocket money: David Dhawan’s brash and energetic, super-colourful, super-loud, in your face brand of comedy isn’t for everyone, but it undoubtedly has its fans.
Vishal-Shekar have certainly created a soundtrack to fit the Dhawan brief with the Rascals soundtrack – and by that, I mean that this album is basically an onslaught of high-energy noise from start to finish.
The short album consists of four original tracks and two remixes; the entire album is heavily hip-hop and dance based. It’s definitely not one for old-school Hindi film music purists or fans...
