"The lucky ones freeze to death." A trailer has debuted for the snowy indie horror titled Cold Ground, a creature feature about a team of documentary filmmakers who venture into the mountains. This is described as a retro horror that is like "The Blair Witch Project meets The Descent", and it's filmed to look like it was made in the 70s with Super 8 cameras. Starring Doug Rand, Philip Schurer, Gala Besson, Fabrice Pierre, and Maura Tillay. This looks very scary, here's to hoping it's as good as the quotes claim. Here's the first official trailer (+ poster) for Fabien Delage's Cold Ground, direct from YouTube: 1976: Two young journalists leave for the...

*full dislcosure: an online screener of this film was provided by the distributor, Artsploitation Films. Director: Romain Basset Writers: Romain Basset and Karim Chériguène. Cast: Lilly-Fleur Pointeaux, Catriona MacColl, Gala Besson, Murray Head and Fu'ad Aït Aattou. Romain Basset's feature film debut, Horsehead, is conceptually and stylistically cool, but its story makes you work at piecing things together—if you're not careful, you could miss the mark. The film follows in the tradition of other dreamscape horror films like A Nightmare on Elm Street and The Cell, with the protagonist purposely falling into a dream state in order to solve a mystery and/or defeat the enemy. In Horsehead, the lovely Jessica, who studies the power of lucid dreaming, grapples with nightmares. While attempting to control her dreams, she unearths a sinister family secret. However intriguing, this film will have you wishing that you were in your own lucid dream,...

British stage and screen veteran Bernard Hill, who played King Theoden of Rohan in the Lord of the Rings trilogy and the ship's captain in Titanic, is to appear in independent sci-fi film Outpost 11.
He plays a character called Cranleigh. Leading the cast are Luke Healy, Joshua Mayes-Cooper and Billy Clarke, with support from Graham Till. Several production stills from the project are included here, along with the trailer.
Set in an alternative past where steam power still rules the world, Outpost 11 is the story of three soldiers manning a remote listening post in the Arctic Circle.
One day the warning light goes off unexpectedly and their world is plunged into chaos. Albert (Mayes-Cooper), Mason (Healy) and Graham (Clarke) must fight "isolation, madness and arctic spiders" to survive.
The story being set in a steampunk past makes a refreshing change from the usual post-apocalyptic future found in so many recent Hollywood releases.
