Drew Daywalt knows fear. After all, he’s the guy regularly giving fans a look into the “School of Fear” on FEARnet.com, and after establishing himself in the world of horror short films with Fewdio, Daywalt has now stepped out on his own with his Daywalt Fear Factory, which releases some of the eeriest short films you’ll find on the Internet.
Even though Daywalt has solidified his place as the premiere short-form horror stortyteller, the writer/director is about to embark on a new adventure as he recently announced that he’s collaborating with Fangoria for an upcoming feature film called The Ringbearer. The writer/director spoke to Dread Central on how he got involved with the legendary horror publication in its new venture into feature filmmaking as well as more on the release of his long-awaited Internet genre series "Camera Obscura" in conjunction with Dread Central and Daily Motion.

Fangoria owner/president Tom DeFeo dropped a major scoop on Fangoria Radio this past Friday night regarding our continuing expansion into all areas of the media. “The big news,” he told us, “is Fangoria TV is going to be happening in the New Year. We’re going to have our own video-on-demand channel, both free and paid.
“It won’t be Internet,” he continued, “it will be on TV. I can’t say yet who the cable operators are; we’re still working out our deals. But we’re going to make our big announcement at the Trinity of Terrors convention in Las Vegas [at the end of this month]. Hopefully, the launch will be around March. We’ll have some great movies, we’re going to be producing a monthly show [that will] hopefully turn into a weekly show, letting everybody know what’s going on in the wonderful world of horror. We’re really excited, and...

After the passing of Michael Jackson last week, Tom DeFeo aka "The Godfather of Fangoria" (our owner & president) asked me to post a copy of our Screamography episode featuring John Landis. With last night's news that Dimension might be remaking An American Werewolf In London, the episode certainly seems hauntingly timely.
Presented below is the full, 54-minute episode of Fangoria's Screamography: John Landis, along with a text transcript featuring Landis on Jackson. The segment on An American Werewolf begins around the 23 minute mark, with the segment on Thriller beginning around 37.
Fangoria Screamography - John Landis
Transcript: The Making Of Michael Jackson's Thriller (at 37:00 in the video):
Narrator: Landis' next project was for the small screen and starred The King of Pop...
John Landis: Thriller cost about $600,000 which at the time was huge because the average rock video cost between $50K and $100K, and we made one for $600K.

Wherever the Fangoria Radio team may roam, there’s always one time and place you can find them together, and that’s Friday evenings. For tonight’s show (airing 10 p.m.-1 a.m. Est on Sirius Xm Satellite Radio, channel 102 & 155, respectively, with a repeat immediately after), hosts Dee Snider (currently in Vegas) and Debbie Rochon (off traveling), joined by Fango managing editor Michael Gingold, welcome a full lineup of gruesome guests, some of them calling in from our Weekend of Horrors convention in La:
• When new killer ChromeSkull (pictured) is on the loose, everybody gets Laid To Rest, and writer/director Robert Hall and stars Bobbi Sue Luther and Thomas Dekker (from TV’s Terminator and the feature From Within) will all be on hand to talk up next week’s Anchor Bay DVD release
• Who can show Grace under pressure when dealing with a baby that has very unusual feeding habits?...

After a year of planning, the schedule for the West Coast edition of Fangoria’s Weekend of Horrors convention is ready to be unveiled. The event will to be held this coming April 17-19 (three monstrous days and over 100 guests!) at the Los Angeles Convention Center (1201 South Figueroa).
All guests/events listed here are tentative. More stars are still joining the fun at this late stage, so expect lots of surprises all weekend long. And for the first time ever, we’ve added a second track of programming that will take place concurrently with the main track on Saturday and Sunday! Be sure to note which rooms your favorite panels will be held in. Details for the jam-packed film schedule, including several world premieres and more unannounced bonus guests, can be found here. Tom DeFeo, "supreme omnipotent leader of Fangoria" coming up...

Is this some kind of trick? I just walked into (cautiously I might add) what could be confirmed by Guinness as the world’s smallest elevator. It is located at 250 West 49th Street if anyone is morbidly curious. Coincidentally, that is also the location of the increasingly mobile Fangoria magazine that has found a new home here. I pushed the button to the third floor. The door opened. There was another door—a giant metal one in fact. This is the first time I’ve encountered a closed door staring back at me after an elevator door opens. I fear suddenly that this has all been an elaborate ruse set up by Debbie Rochon and Tony Timpone, and I’m on camera as they watch and laugh eating pizza and drinking coffee. I realize then that I just need to shut out the voices and try opening the door. Sure...

The announcement that Fangoria was returning to comic books came as a bit of a surprise so we decided to go right to the source. Associate Editor Troy Brownfield chatted with us this week on the whys and wherefores.
ComicMix: Hey Troy, welcome to ComicMix.
Troy Brownfield: Thanks, Bob. It’s great of you to have us.
CMix: Fangoria Graphix failed last year and Scott blamed the lack of support from the magazine and website. Since it was all owned by Tom DeFeo, how’d that happen?
TB: Love the easy questions first, Bob. Let me first clarify a few things for everyone. Fangoria Comics never failed; Fangoria Comics was ended. How is that different? Well, Fangoria Comics was performing at a sustainable level in the Direct Market, at a terrific level in mass market bookstore chains, and very well at conventions. However, as anyone in comics knows, there is...

“That’s right, kiddies. We’ve gotten the band back together! Troy Brownfield, Fangoria Graphix Associate Editor here. I don’t have to tell you all that’s it been a weird couple of years. But Executive Editor Scott Licina, Production Manager Jason Moser, Director of New Media Development James Zahn and I are thrilled to be back where it all started. Ever since Tom DeFeo and The Brooklyn Company took over, we’ve been talking about what new horrible things we could do to all you, er, do together. The logical first step was to put the work that we originally did under the Fango umbrella in its natural place: right here, right in front of you, our most loyal readers.
“So . . . knowing that, what are you going to see? There will be Bump.
