Snarled loops of time travel have proved a surprisingly versatile and rewarding fantasy-cinema trope in recent years, from the big-budget likes of “Edge of Tomorrow” to such enterprising indies as “Predestination,” not to mention comedies (“Palm Springs”), horror (“Happy Death Day”), romance (“Before I Fall”) and more. “Volition” makes a worthy addition to that roster: . Tony Dean Smith’s clever thriller lands July 10 on digital platforms and available theater screens, where it should continue to be as well-received by sci-fi fans as it has been on the genre-festival circuit.

Blood on Her Name opens with a pool of blood and a panicked breath. A dead body of a man lies at Leigh’s feet. The cuts on her face would suggest that it was self-defense, an accident. She’s a single mother to a teenage son and fears the consequences for her family and for her auto body shop, so she decides to scrub her garage floor clean and dispose of the body. Just as she’s about to dump his body into the lake, his phone rings. Leigh listens to the message left: it’s from his son. Guilt hits her like a punch in the gut, and her conscience tells her that she must bring his body back to his family, to leave them without the pain of the unknowing. Google paid $3.2 billion to acquire smart thermostat maker Nest in a deal that was three years in the making.
Google Acquires Nest
Nest, based out of Palo-Alto, Calif., is a technology company that endeavors to recreate in-home devices – such as the thermostat and smoke alarm – and make them more intuitive. Founded in 2010 by Apple engineers Tony Fadell and Matt Rogers in 2010, Nest exploded over the next few years – thanks in part to Google’s Sergey Brin, who became involved in the company in 2011.
“Google will help us fully realize our vision of the conscious home and allow us to change the world faster than we ever could if we continued to go it alone. We’ve had great momentum, but this is a rocket ship,” said Fadell in a blog post on Monday.

For the 16 male and female contestants on USA Network's Monday competitive reality show "Summer Camp," the experience is a chance to visit a lakeside retreat and relive the fun they had as kids -- and also have a chance to win a $250,000 prize.
For host Matt Rogers, a Season 3 finalist on Fox's singing competition "American Idol," it was also lots of fun.
"Typically in shows that I've hosted in the past," he tells Zap2it, "I'm a lot more facilitative, in terms that I get questions out of people, and I interview more and interact more. This was super easy for me.
"I'm the camp director, so I show up, I give them the rules, I tell them what they can do and what they can't do, and then I just direct them in the right way. They take the whole show over. It's definitely about the cast and enjoying summer camp.

Aww, isn’t camp the best? That’s the voice of Matt Rogers, a former American Idol finalist putting his star vocals to the best use possible by belting out taunts through a loudspeaker. Welcome to USA’s Summer Camp — not to be confused with NBC’s Camp — where the perks of showing up to camp include a lovely lake, the sun, weekly color wars, the opportunity to meet other hot and obnoxious people (and a few token nerds), and the awakening of any and all terrible memories you once associated with sleepaway camp.

Don’t get on Nicki Minaj’s case for showing up late to American Idol‘s Top 10 performance night. Let’s be honest: If you had known you were going to have to endure her fellow judges heaping praise (with a side dish of almost imperceptible criticism) on Curtis Finch Jr.’s dreary, off-key Fantasia cover, you’d have tuned in 10 minutes past the hour yourself.
Okay, okay…maybe we should throw a little shade at Nicki. I mean, how many millions of dollars is she paid for working three hours per week at The House That Kelly Clarkson Built?...

It was a so very emotional reunion for one young family on "Coming Home" (Wed., 10 p.m. Et on Lifetime) Wednesday night.
As Elizabeth Lyles attended a gallery opening with family and friends she had no idea that she'd also be seeing her husband, Lt. Matt Lyles, who had arrived home from his first deployment in Afghanistan.
Lt. Lyles hadn't seen their baby daughter, Allie, for months, but Elizabeth had no doubt that the baby recognized him. "She looked at him and he looked at her like, she knew who he was. She completely knew who he was," she beamed.

Sometimes I seriously question my obsession with American Idol. After all, there’s no other show on television that consistently causes spikes in my blood pressure — whether it’s from the blind fury I feel toward the show’s inept and inconsistent judging panel, the frustration I experience with its thoroughly uninspired theme nights and song lists, or the rolling rage of wondering things like “Where the frak is Pia Toscano’s finale duet?”
But Wednesday night’s Season 10 finale managed to dilute my cynicism, erase my grouchiness, and bring real human tears to my eyes. Call me a sentimental fool,...

Baby lock them doors and turn the lights down low, because tonight the tenth insane season of "American Idol" is coming to a close.
It’s a cycle that brought us singing cleaning ladies, a scatting jazz freak, a galloping Nashville indie heartthrob, a growling sex kitten piñata, a pyromaniac rocker, a gospel lovin' spa concierge straight out of Compton, and, ultimately, two country fetus finalists who were born after Dr. Dre's "The Chronic" hit stores. With Simon Cowell on to bigger (and better?) projects, all eyes were on two new judges, more concerned with promoting their new singles than giving honest critiques.
Welcome to "American Idol X: Everybody’s Ridiculous (And Beautiful And Perfect!)"
The two hour seven minute finale spectacular kicks off at 8pm Edt, and I’ll be live-blogging every hot mess moment of it! The random cameos! The jaw-dropping group numbers! Randy Jackson’s sure-to-be-absurd outfit!
