[[tmz:video id="0_42flf3ss"]] Here's awesome video of rap legend Too Short leading the Golden State Warriors championship party in Oakland Monday night ... with Draymond Green playing the role of hype man. Draymond jumped onto his table at Harlot nightclub -- while teammate Ian Clark danced in his own VIP booth. Too Short was awesome -- saying the Warriors didn't just beat the Cavs, they also beat the refs! Green then grabbed champagne and sprayed the crowd -- and everyone loved it!

Unlike nearly everywhere else in the culture, bigger is not necessarily better at the Eastern Oregon Film Festival. It’s a slender event in a small town. Eleven features and 21 shorts across three days and two venues. Still, they don’t call this stretch of fully enclosed valley “La Grande” for nothing. Despite only containing about 12,000 souls, this mountainous hamlet, like Ian Clark and Benjamin Morgan’s program, leaves you plenty of room to explore. As is often the case with interesting indie horror films, The Facility proves that you don't need much to deliver something worthwhile. Here we have a straightforward story that offers A) a simple premise, B) an effective location, and C) a handful of characters worth watching for 90 minutes. The Facility never comes close to re-inventing bio-horror themes or suspense thrillers, but there's always something to be said for a movie that knows what it is, knows what it wants to do, and gets it all done with some craftsmanship and efficiency.
The plot is admirably simple stuff: a group of volunteers are gathered at a (large, creepy, and isolated) medical facility so they can test a new drug in exchange for some decent money. Except, whoops, this experimental medication causes psychosis and spurts of harrowing rage fits that should seem a little familiar to the 28 Days Later fans -- and...

Director Ian Clark's medical horror The Facility is out on DVD in the UK now, not to mention that you can win a copy right here -- so to celebrate we've nabbed an exclusive look at this clinical trial gone haywire that's flashy in more way than one. Again, this is Not Safe For Work!
The Facility stars Alex Reid, Aneurin Barnard, and Steve Evets.
Synopsis:
Seven volunteers – students Carmen, Arif, and Adam; office temp Joni; journalist Katie; estate agent Jerome; and unemployed Derek – arrive at the remote Limebrook Medical Clinic to take part in a clinical trial run by ProSyntrex Pharmaceuticals. In exchange for a fee of £2,000, these human “guinea pigs” have agreed to spend two weeks in isolation testing an experimental new drug known only as Pro9. After settling into the facility, each participant is given a first injection and, following a group dinner, sent to bed.

★★☆☆☆ Screened as part of last year's Eiff and Film4 FrightFest lineups, British director Ian Clark's low-budget debut The Facility (2012) (formerly known as 'Guinea Pigs') now finds its way onto DVD, having just missed out on a theatrical release. A group of eight strangers come together at an isolated research facility to undergo a phase one medical trial for an untested drug called 'Pro-9'. Most of the participants are there for the money, with some having made such clinical trials their primary source of income. Katie (Nia Roberts) is a journalist there to cover the procedure for a piece she's currently writing - entitled 'The Last Resort'.
If Katie was looking to discover the depths that people will go to when faced with extreme hardship, then she certainly gets what she came for, as she and the others soon encounter a series of peculiar side effects from...

In medical trials around 99% of the subjects suffer no actual side effects from the drugs that are pumped into them, but what about the other 1%? That’s what The Facility takes as its core idea and although it’s not a true story, it is presented as if it’s a reconstruction of an actual event.
This is an area which horror has largely stayed away from but the pharmaceutical industry is presumably ripe for exploitation. The trouble with The Facility is writer and director Ian Clark forgets some essential elements required for this kind of story which render it fairly ineffective.
We start with several members of the public making their way to a building in the middle of nowhere (or the British countryside). We get to know the bare minimum about Joni (temp worker), Morty (unemployed professional guinea pig), Jed (alpha male estate agent), Arif (shy and troubled...

Award winning short film writer director Ian Clark (“Jenny and the Worm”) makes his feature debut with the horror thriller “The Facility”, which arrives now on region 2 DVD via eOne Momentum, having played various fests under the name “Guinea Pigs”. A claustrophobic, low budget British take on the likes of “28 Days Later”, “The Crazies” and other fast/angry/infected/non-zombie shockers, the film stars a handful of semi-recognisable faces including Alex Reid (“The Descent” plus sequel), Steve Evets (“Pirates Of The Caribbean: On Stranger Tides”) and Oliver Coleman (“The Other Boleyn Girl”). The setup involves 7 unfortunate strangers who volunteer to take part in a clinical drug trial at the inevitably remote Limebrook Medical Clinic. Enticed by a fee of £2000 for 2 weeks in isolation and being injected with the experimental Pro9, they soon find things going very wrong indeed, as one of the group starts to convulse violently and vomit blood before attacking the others.

Stars: Aneurin Barnard, Oliver Coleman, Steve Evets, Alex Reid, Chris Larkin | Written and Directed by Ian Clark
Debuting at this year’s Edinburgh International Film Festival Ian Clark’s much anticipated first feature, Guinea Pigs finally makes it’s Frighfest debut – having originally scheduled to show in 2011 – but despite delivering some sharp moments of tension and a realistic style, the film unfortunately lacks in lasting impact.
Eight volunteers are sent to a remote medical facility to begin clinical trials on a new drug, tentatively titled Pro-9. It soon becomes apparent that this is no ordinary drug as extreme side affects begin to appear – you know, like turning into a raging psychopath. Although the subject of clinical trials has been tackled in the horror genre before, it still remains a chilling concept. Ian Clark furthers these chills by instilling a...

Ian Clark's low-budget old-school horror debut sees eight volunteers from various backgrounds signing up for medical testing at a shady clinic in the English countryside and getting far more than they bargained for in the process. It's a nice little horror flick that, while containing nothing particularly original, does act as a showcase for some new talent and handles familiar material in a perfectly agreeable and entertaining fashion over a nice and short 80 minute running time. All in all it gets a thumbs-up and a recommendation for anyone seeking some cool indie horror from the UK. [Continued ...]...

Arriving at a secluded ProSyntrex facility situated deep in the English countryside, seven strangers are carefully briefed on the nature of a drug trial they have each agreed to participate in: a routine, double-blind experiment run by Dr. Mansell (Chris Larkin) that aims to study the effects of Pro-9 on human subjects.
As Adam (Aneurin Barnard), Joni (Alex Reid), Jed (Oliver Coleman), Katie (Nia Roberts), Morty (Steve Evets), Carmen (Skye Lourie) and Arif (Amit Shah) receive their first round of injections, however, they soon find themselves reacting to the drug in unexpected and drastic ways. Trapped, alone and slaves to the chemicals now coursing through their veins, the guinea pigs might not survive the night, let alone the study’s fortnight-long duration.

Back in my college days medical trials were a fact of life. Several of my friends financed their higher education by volunteering to be poked, prodded and drugged up in the name of medical science while one spent an entire year in drug trials to finance the creation of a custom built, solid body, Flying V, electric ukulele which he used to perform punk rock songs about the She-Hulk whilst draped with a pink feather boa and sometimes wearing a Mexican wrestler mask. I'm not making that up. This is him being licked by a cat.
But you know why drug trials pay so well? Because the doctors aren't always sure what's going to happen. And that very simple fact provides the basis for Ian Clark's Guinea Pigs, a found-footage style horror picture now in production. They're saying very little about it so far beyond that the story revolves...

The film stars Alex Reid, Chris Larkin, Steve Evets, Jack Doolan, Amit Shah and Aneurin Barnard and is scheduled for release in the UK next year. Thanks to Dread Central for the find.

It’s insane how much horrific footage has gone missing in this crazy world as of late. What’s crazier is that people keep finding it, editing said footage into a feature-length film, and releasing them into theaters. Director Ian Clark is looking to put his own personal stamp on this increasingly popular genre with “Guinea Pigs”, a low-budget horror opus that chronicles the mishaps that “rarely” ensue within the wonky world of clinical drug trials. As you may already have guessed, things don’t go according to plan, and it doesn’t take long for events to fold in a very menacing way. The film is scheduled for release in the UK next year, so be sure to check it out before you willingly sell your body to science. Vertigo Films have just sent us the brand new trailer for their new movie, Guinea Pigs. Guinea Pigs is directed by Ian Clark and stars Alex Reid, Chris Larkin, Steve Evets, Jack Doolan, Amit Shah and Aneurin Barnard. I love the way this trailer (and possibly the movie) has been shot, mixing it up with CCTV cameras. It looks a little bit like a mix between Paranormal Activity, 28 Days Later and The Grudge.
We don’t have an official release date as yet but we know it’ll be released 2011.
Synopsis: Eight volunteers find themselves fighting for their lives when a drug trial goes horribly wrong.

Not only has The Human Centipede given us an all new, even more disturbing vision of ass-to-mouth hijinx, it has also sparked a new craze of medical horror flicks. The next one out of the gate? Vertigo Films' Guinea Pigs.
From director Ian Clark, the micro-budget film is an atmospheric horror about volunteers fighting for their lives after a drug trial goes wrong. Look for the flick to be getting a theatrical release in the UK sometime next year.
We'll have more soon, but in the interim dig on the trailer below courtesy of Empire Online.

Well peeps, just as The Blair Witch Project had it's wannabe's afterwards it now looks like we will be getting films shot like Paranormal Activity. I'm not condemning this new teaser trailer for Guinea Pigs but there are similarities as you you will see. The teaser below does have it's creepy elements which is always a good thing for us horror fans! One thing though, guinea pig and hospital are two words that Do Not go together!
Guinea Pigs is written and directed by Ian Clark and stars Alex Reid, Chris Larkin and Steve Evets. It's set to release in the UK sometime in 2011 and I'm sure we'll have much more on this film.

Here's a horror that might be on to something. After all, scary stuff scares people, and doctors scare people, so putting the two together as Guinea Pigs does might just result in something proper unsettling - and certainly this teaser trailer suggests that it's going to walk on the terrifying side. While this all looks a bit Paranormal Activity at the moment, the set-up - volunteers for a medical experiment find things going weird - is sufficiently different that the finished product should be its own beast. The film, written and directed by Ian Clark, is due out in the UK sometime in 2011. It stars Alex Reid, Chris Larkin and Steve Evets.

A husband has left his partner in shock after he went ahead with plans to name their new baby after Lady GaGa. Dad-of-three Ian Clark told Melanie Robinson of the idea during her pregnancy after his step-daughter made the suggestion, reports Chronicle Live. The new arrival, now 12 days old, has been officially named Meggie Maisie Lady GaGa. "I can't believe he actually went ahead and did it. Ian thought it was a really good idea but I told him no way," Robinson said. "It's still strange to look at the birth certificate now. Everybody keeps asking to have a look at it because they don't believe he went and did it. "But the more someone tells (more)...

We knew it all along! So this is what Hollywood puts its budding filmmakers through! Experiments! Tests! Lobotomies! Someone needs to put a stop to this kind of ... what? Oh, Guinea Pigs is the title of a film made by a trio on indie filmmakers. Well. That changes everything.
