The Royal Family has been struck this year with so many cancer diagnoses and surgeries that the tasks of carrying out the public appearances have fallen to Queen Camilla and Anne, The Princess Royal.
Both ladies are in their seventies and have been going strong since King Charles and Kate Middleton have cleared their calendars for their health struggles.
King Charles has resumed some of his duties while he undergoes his cancer treatments, but Kate is assumed to be out of the picture until Easter.
Prince William recently returned to work after helping as long as he could with Kate’s recovery from her abdominal surgery.
The London Evening Standard reports that Queen Camilla has undertaken thirteen of King Charles’ events in addition to her full diary since he was diagnosed with cancer.

First lady Jill Biden had a glamourous plus-one for the coronation of King Charles III on Saturday, May 6. While President Joe Biden didn't attend the historic event, his wife and his granddaughter Finnegan Biden were on hand for ceremony.
Finnegan is the 23-year-old daughter of Hunter Biden and his ex-wife, Kathleen Buhle, and one of Jill and the president's seven grandchildren. She has an older sister, Naomi, who was married on the White House lawn in 2022, and a younger sister, Maisy. Additionally, Hunter shares son Beau with his second wife, Melissa Cohen, and a daughter with Lunden Alexis Roberts.
Both the first lady and Finnegan chose simple but gorgeous outfits for the coronation. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky opened the Berlin International Film Festival Thursday night with a defiant call for for artists and cultural institutions to “take a stand” in the war in Ukraine and to support his country and his people in their fight against Russian aggression.
“Can art be outside politics, can cinema be outside politics [when] there is a policy of aggression…when there is total war?” he asked, rhetorically, in a video address to the Berlinale audience. “That is the politics of today’s Russia.”
“Culture chooses a side when it decide to speak out against evil,” the Ukrainian President said, “and it takes a side when it remains silent and in fact helps the evil.”
Playing to his audience of film buffs, Zelensky chose a movie metaphor to make his point: citing German director Wim Wenders and his 1987 classic Wings of Desire, which, Zelensky said, “broke the Berlin Wall two years before it fell…...

Roger Walters has reportedly been asked by Russia to speak to the Un Security Council.
Russia wants the Pink Floyd co-founder to appear on Wednesday (8 February) at the meeting to discuss Ukrainian weapon delivery, Reuters reports.
Speaking on the request, an anonymous Un Security diplomat said: "Russian diplomacy used to be serious. What next? Mr Bean?"
Waters has previously written open letters to both the Russian and Ukrainian governments.
The musician was criticised for one he wrote to the Ukrainian first lady, Olena Zelenska, in which he argued against the west supplying weapons to Ukraine.
The rock musician has previously claimed that he is on a Ukrainian “kill list” as a result of his controversial comments about the war.
“Don’t forget, I’m on a kill list that is supported by the Ukrainian government,” Waters said in an interview with Rolling Stone in October.

Pink Floyd lyricist Polly Samson has accused the band’s co-founder Roger Waters of being “antisemitic to your rotten core”, in an online row over Israel and the Ukraine war.
In an extraordinary attack on Twitter, Samson – who is married to the rock band’s guitarist David Gilmour – also claimed her husband’s former bandmate was a “Putin apologist”, saying: “Enough of your nonsense”.
Waters responded on his official account saying he was “aware of the incendiary and wildly inaccurate comments made about him on Twitter by Polly Samson which he refutes entirely”, adding: “He is currently taking advice as to his position.”
Samson, an acclaimed novelist, wrote lyrics for Pink Floyd’s 1994 album The Division Bell and is credited on solo tracks by her husband Gilmour.
Gilmour and Waters have been feuding for decades since the latter quit the group in 1985 and tried to force the remaining members to formally dissolve it.

Exclusive: The BBC’s decision to include two transgender activists on a list celebrating successful women has proved divisive among journalists at the UK broadcaster.
The 100 Women project was established in 2013 to celebrate the achievements of women from all walks of life. Transgender women have featured in the past, but questions have grown about their inclusion as the BBC has made impartiality its top priority under Tim Davie, the director-general.
The 2022 list features two trans women who have helped further the cause of trans rights. Erika Hilton was thrown out onto the streets by her conservative family but became the first Black trans woman to be elected to Brazil’s National Congress. Efrat Tilma was the first trans woman to volunteer for the Israeli police.
Hilton and Tilma’s presence was noted by readers, some of whom hijacked a conversation started by the 100 Women Twitter account to complain about the list.

Roger Waters has written an open letter to Russian President Vladimir Putin, asking him to end the Ukraine war.
“Would you (Putin) like to see an end to this war?” the 79-year-old musician wrote in a letter on Sunday (25 August). “If you were to reply and say, ‘Yes please.’ That would immediately make things a lot easier.
“If you were to come out and say, ‘Also the Russian Federation has no further territorial interest beyond the security of the Russian-speaking populations of The Crimea, Donetsk, and Lubansk [sic].’ That would help too.”
The Pink Floyd co-founder, who recently announced his farewell tour, urged the Russian president to issue a message of assurance to the western areas of Ukraine and Europe, as he “[has] kids and grandkids, and so do most of my brothers and sisters all over the world and none of us would relish that outcome”.

The Polish city of Krakow cancelled gigs by Pink Floyd co-founder Roger Waters because of his sympathetic stance toward Russia in its war against Ukraine, a local councilman said Monday, inviting the singer to visit Ukraine with him to see the extent of Russian crimes.
Councilman Lukasz Wantuch said the city owns the arena where two of Waters’ concerts had been scheduled for April before being canceled. He said the city would not tolerate them being used for an artist spreading ideas objectionable to most people in Poland. And he said Waters was free to perform in a private venue if he wishes.
“He doesn’t realize the truth,” Wantuch told The Associated Press. “He doesn’t understand what is going on in Ukraine.”
Polish media on Saturday had reported that the gigs were canceled by Waters’ management in reaction to the outcry over his views.

Roger Waters has reportedly cancelled concerts planned in Poland amid outrage over his stance on Russia’s war against Ukraine.
Earlier this month, the Pink Floyd co-founder penned an open letter to Ukraine’s first lady Olena Zelenska in which he blamed “extreme nationalists” for having “set your country on the path to this disastrous war”.
Waters has previously branded Joe Biden a “war criminal” for “fuelling the fire in the Ukraine”.
On Saturday (24 September), Polish media reported that Waters’ forthcoming concerts at the Tauron Arena in Krakow in April would no longer be taking place.
Venue official Lukasz Pytko said that Waters’ manager had “decided to withdraw” the shows “without giving any reason”.
However, Waters has since issued a statement claiming that neither he or his management were responsible for the shows being pulled.
The website for Waters’ This Is Not a Drill concert tour no longer lists the previously scheduled Krakow concerts.

There’s a last-minute change brewing at “60 Minutes.”
When the venerable CBS newsmagazine launches its 55th season this Sunday, viewers may notice a twist at the end of the hour. The show is debuting a new end segment, something that its top producer hopes will resonate with crowds as much as previous codas like “Point/Counterpoint” or the musings of Andy Rooney did in their respective eras.
“We have tried different things to fill the space, and they felt a little unsatisfying,” executive producer Bill Owens tells Variety. “There wasn’t a consistency to it. I ended up giving that time back to the stories and the correspondents, so they would each have 20 to 30 seconds more. They were all very happy to have that time, but it felt like something was missing.”

Lewis Capaldi has revealed that he has been diagnosed with Tourette’s syndrome.
On Tuesday (6 September), the 25-year-old singer went public with his diagnosis because he didn’t want his twitching to be misinterpreted.
Tourette’s is a condition that causes a person to make involuntary sounds and movements known as tics.
“I wanted to speak about it because I didn’t want people to think I was taking cocaine or something,” Capaldi, who is releasing a new single on Friday 9 September, said during an Instagram live session.
“My shoulder twitches when I am excited, happy, nervous, or stressed,” he added. “It is something I am living with. It’s not as bad as it looks.”
Capaldi isn’t the only famous musician who has Tourette’s syndrome.
Earlier this year, Billie Eilish opened up about living with the condition during a new in-depth Netflix interview.

The makers of a documentary about Armie Hammer’s alleged abuse have said they will make one change to it, following its release last week.
Production house Talos Films will reportedly remove the photograph of an alleged bite mark that Hammer’s ex-girlfriend Courtney Vucekovich believed was of her own body, after viewers raised questions over its authenticity.
Vucekovich and Hammer, 35, allegedly began dating in June 2020. She alleges that their short relationship involved “love bombing” and a sex act that left her feeling “traumatised”.
At one point during the series, Vucekovich claims Hammer “bites really hard”. Viewers are shown a picture of a bite mark which the Dallas-based business owner claimed was one Hammer had left on her body, adding she thought it was taken by the controversial Hollywood actor.

Roger Waters has written an open letter to the first lady of Ukraine, Olena Zelenska, seeking her support in persuading her husband to “stop the slaughter” by pursuing a ceasefire at the expense of control over two eastern Ukrainian regions.
The 79-year-old English musician started off his letter by writing: “My heart bleeds for you and all the Ukrainian and Russian families, devastated by the terrible war in Ukraine.”
Referring to Zelenska’s Sunday with Laura Kuenssberg interview that aired on BBC News this week, Waters pointed out a statement where she said: “If support for Ukraine is strong, the crisis will be shorter.”
The Pink Floyd co-founder questioned her statement, writing: “Hmmm? I guess that might depend on what you mean by ‘support for Ukraine’?
“If by ‘support for Ukraine’ you mean the west continuing to supply arms to the Kyiv government’s armies, I fear you may be tragically mistaken.
