USA’s Temptation Island Season 5 is finally here, and fans can’t wait to see the four new couples who will test their relationships. The show involves couples and singles, as the singles get to meet the couples and potentially form relationships with taken individuals. So, are Temptation Island contestants paid to appear on the show? Here’s what to know.
Are ‘Temptation Island’ contestants paid to appear on the show?
Temptation Island cast members are not paid, and that doesn’t change with season 5. The singles and couples appearing in the series don’t receive any money for showing up on camera, and they’re not part of the show for a monetary reward. There’s a solid chance that appearing on the show won’t lead to any money at all.
With that said, those appearing on the show don’t have to pay for their flights or lodging.

The snow is melting, things are heating up, and Mark L. Walberg is ready to welcome you back to Temptation Island. The longtime reality show host (and often unofficial therapist) returns for Season 4 on USA Network. He’ll greet another group of couples at a relationship impasse who head to a Hawaiian oasis complete with two villas teeming with singles looking for love and a good time. Will absence make the heart grow fonder for the pairs or are they not meant to be? It’s a question Walberg helps them navigate throughout their journey. Before the bonfires get underway, he tells us what stands out this season. How did you compare production this time around? Mark L. Walberg: It was back to doing it the way we did it — separate villas, cars, and things like that. We tested [for Covid] every day, so my nose got a workout. It felt the pre-pandemic vibe,...

Temptation Island is back. The reality dating show returns for Season 4 Wednesday, March 16 on USA Network. And we spoke with host Mark L. Walberg about what to expect in Temptation Island Season 4. The reality dating series has a unique structure that’s built for drama. Each season, four couples put their vulnerable relationships to the ultimate test by traveling to a tropical paradise where 24 single men and women wait for them, all eager to find love. The couples are all questioning the same thing: Should we be together? By the end of the season, they have their answers. The couples “must decide whether to commit to a lifetime together — or ultimately give in to the temptation waiting for them on the island,” the series description says. Sometimes, that temptation is to leave the island alone. But no matter what decisions the couples make — whether they stay together, commit to someone new,...

"We have four guys that really tap in emotionally here right off the bat, so I think that's a little bit of a difference." Walberg added that "it's safe to say" all four couples "may have some trouble in their relationship" this...

As with any obsessive fan of niche interests, the sneaker fanatics of “Sneakerheads” spend much of their time defending their diehard love. Their hunt for the perfect sneaker, the rarest edition, the sentimental favorites that got away isn’t about the shoe itself, really. It’s about the thrill of the chase, and anyone or anything that gets in their way is just another obstacle to their ultimate satisfaction of reaching the finish line. But as “Sneakerheads” proves, both accidentally and on purpose, the thing about treasure hunts is that finding the treasure rarely means the end of the hunt. There will always be that temptation, that sense that there must be something else out there that’s bigger and even better, dangling just out of reach. Over six breezy episodes, Jay Longino’s new Netflix series plays out this dynamic over, and over, and over again. Recovering sneakerhead Devin...

There isn’t a better way to prove your love for somebody than to travel to paradise with three other couples and 24 single men and women and see if your significant other will stay loyal or jump in a hot tub and prove that they are cheating trash. That said, thank God Temptation Island is back.
In the new trailer for the USA Network’s revival of the reality series, original host Mark L. Walberg returns to oversee four couples as they decide to stay together or give into — as the title of the series suggests — temptation. The four couples travel to Maui, Hawaii on a gorgeous resort only to be welcomed by a thirsty group of 24 single men and women that look like a real-life stack of Tinder profiles. All of them are waiting to pounce on each other or one of the members of the committed couples — and with all the grinding,...

One of the most infamous reality TV shows of all time is back to tempt us once again: USA Network is reviving Temptation Island, with a new 10-episode season debuting early next year.
The new Temptation Island will premiere Tuesday, Jan. 15 at 10/9c, with original host Mark L. Walberg set to return. USA Network has confirmed its upcoming reboot of the 2001 reality series "Temptation Island." The 10-episode revival, produced by Banijay Studios North America, will premiere on January 15 with Mark L. Walberg, who hosted the original, returning as host.
"Temptation Island," which had been in the works at USA for the past few months, is part of the network’s aggressive expansion into unscripted series as it is preparing for the departure of WWE Smackdown next fall.
"Temptation Island" follows four dating couples at a pivotal time in their relationship, where they must mutually decide if they are ready to commit to one another for the rest of their lives — or should go their separate ways. Together, the couples travel to the tropical paradise of Maui, Hawaii, where they join 24 eligible men and women. There, they live the “single life,” in a test that is meant to help answer their most difficult questions about their relationship.

USA Network has booked a trip to “Temptation Island.”
Original host Mark L. Walberg will return to host the reboot of the Fox dating series, which is set to premiere a 10-episode series on Tuesday, Jan. 15.
Debuting in 2001, “Temptation Island” took four couples and forced them to decide if they are ready to commit to one another for the rest of their lives or should go their separate ways. Each couple was split up and sent to live with a group of attractive singles in a tropical paradise.
The instantly controversial series became a pop culture phenomenon in its first season but struggled in the ratings throughout the rest of its short run. Now, Banijay Studios North America is betting that TV’s revival fever will extend to the short-lived reality series.

After 15 years off the air, Temptation Island is making a comeback! USA Network just announced it's bringing the reality series back for 10 episodes starting Jan. 15, 2019, at 10 p.m. Mark L. Walberg, who hosted the original series, is set to return as its host. "In a period of revival television, the return of Temptation Island, a show that leapt onto the scene with equal parts ratings bang and media attention, makes all the sense in the world. Temptation Island retains key format elements, but a concerted effort was made to populate the island with singles genuinely looking for love whose personalities are appealing to the four couples who are questioning the long-term viability of their relationships,"...

Exclusive: USA Network is in advanced negotiations for Temptation Island, a revival of the 2001 Fox reality series, I have learned.
Banijay Group CEO Marco Bassetti announced the upcoming U.S. reboot this morning during a keynote at the Reelscreen West 2018 confab without revealing a network. Reps for USA and Banijay declined comment.
The original Temptation Island, based on an European format, was hosted by Mark L. Walberg and ran on Fox for three seasons. It featured four couples who get separated when they arrive at an exotic island location, with the four guys living in one section with a dozen female models, and the four women residing in another section with a dozen attractive men.
The show courted controversy from the start, with one of the original couples removed from the show when the producers learned that the pair had children together. The first season was a breakout ratings juggernaut...

Temptation Island is returning to U.S. television. The controversial series aired on Fox from 2001-2003 and entailed couples agreeing to live with several singles of the opposite sex in order to test their relationships. No networks have been specifically announced.
Banijay Group CEO Marco Bassetti announced the revival during the Reelscreen West 2018 confab keynote in Santa Monica today. Earlier in March, it was announced a new 10-episode reboot of Wife Swap was going forward on Cmt.
Hosted by Mark L. Walberg, Temptation Island from the onset stirred up controversy, which Fox hoped would drive ratings. Four guy contestants lived in one section with a dozen female models, and the four female contestants lived in another section with a dozen attractive men. Of the initial couples in 2001, Ytossie Patterson and Taheed Watson were removed from the series when the producers learned that the pair had children together.

In its prime, “American Idol” was a show that made gold from pretty much everything it came in contact with on Fox. At the height of its power, it made household names out of the people sitting in the judges’ chairs and competing every week. It also saw ratings so astronomical that it became a coveted lead-in for a variety of shows. New series, returning favorites, and newly-minted hits all enjoyed the slot right after “Idol” on the Fox schedule, through its various seasons and placements.
“24,” The O.C.,” “Bones,” “Fringe,” “Glee,” and “Empire” all benefited from the “Idol” bump, either at the beginning of their runs or on their own respective ascents. And you could make the argument that shows like “Til Death,” “Lie to Me,” and even “Human Target” — shows that didn’t have mammoth success — still stayed on the air longer than they would have, were it...

We've got a couple of TV spots for you to check out for Michael Bay's Transformers: The Last Knight. They are both brief, but it looks like they do offer a bit of new footage. We also have a new photo from the film to share with you featuring Mark Walberg's character Cade Yeager exploring an interesting setting that looks like it could be the Transformers' home planet of Cybertron. That's just speculation on my part, but we have heard that the movie will dive deep into the mythology of Cybertron. We'll learn how they were created, where their story starts, and how they went from a slave-race to a sentient race.
According to USA Today, Wahlberg’s character "is a man on the run who teams with a British duke (Anthony Hopkins) and becomes embroiled in a massive conflict." When talking about the film, Wahlberg said,...

Jon Hamm is always game to make fun of himself, and since he's an attractive person, we should hate him for that. Alas, it is endearing. Well played, Draper. On "The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson," Hamm was forced to discuss that clip of him on a '90s game show called "The Big Date" (hosted by Mark L. Walberg, of course), and he seems pretty at peace with his old Jordan Catalano hair and attitude. You can also tell he resents whoever uploaded it to YouTube, though. And I kind of like that angst.

At this point, we take for granted the fact that Jon Hamm is pretty much the most handsome, most charming, funniest man currently living. But apparently that wasn't always the case.
Back in the misfit '90s, Hamm showed up on a dating show called "The Big Date" (courtesy of Vulture -- and, seriously, thank you). And, spoiler alert, he had really floppy hair.
The year was 1996 and the show, hosted by Mark L. Walberg, is a painful relic of a bygone era (even the camera movements seem covered in dust). In his segment, Hamm uses the word "fabulous" to an insane degree, summing up the evening as "a night of total fabulosity." Uh, if you say so Jon. It should probably come as no surprise that he gets passed over twice...

Long before Jon Hamm played the always-smooth Don Draper onscreen, he was trying to woo ladies on dating shows as a 25-year-old waiter. And there’s video to prove it.

“I share a name with Mark Wahlberg and I look like Chris Harrison, so I’m lost in the shuffle of their success,” Mark L. Walberg likes to joke. Despite these notable handicaps, Walberg remains a recognizable TV face, having hosted public television’s Antiques Roadshow for the past ten years. The veteran game-and-talk-show host brought us the infamous TV experiment Temptation Island (2001–03), on which couples were separated and tempted to cheat on one another; The Moment of Truth (2008), which allowed contestants to win money by confessing embarrassing secrets; and the final episode of Joe Millionaire (2003), when the “real” Evan Marriott was supposedly revealed. Anaheim, Calif. -- The items arrive by the thousands, borne on furniture dollies, in Radio Flyer wagons or nestled carefully in owners' arms. The hodge-podge parade consists of paintings, teapots, firearms, mannequins decked out in military uniforms and more. Much more.
Grade-schoolers have show-and-tell for their treasures. The adult counterpart is PBS' "Antiques Roadshow," which has become an institution as it approaches its 18th season and holds fast as public television's highest-rated series.
That's right: It's No. 1. Not glamorous, romantic "Downton Abbey," but homespun and earnest "Antiques Roadshow," where Civil War firearms, Tiffany lamps and autographed baseball cards are the stars. Even Kevin Bacon watches it, which he admits in an on-air PBS promo.
