You may have heard about Tig Notaro's terrible, horrible, no-good, very bad year. In the spring of 2012, the stand-up comic found herself suffering from life-threatening bacterial infection that wreaked havoc on her G.I. tract. Hospitalization was required; shortly after that, her mother unexpectedly passed away and a long-term relationship disintegrated. Then, several months later, she found herself diagnosed with advanced breast cancer, which meant a double masectomy and a period of long chemo treatments loomed on the horizon. By the time Notaro took the stage at Largo, L.

Amazon's upcoming Tig Notaro show One Mississippi — a semi-autobiographical comedy series — doesn't center on the fact that she is openly gay. And to hear the stand-up comedian and the show's executive producers tell it, that isn't even addressed on the show. Inspired by her own life, One Mississippi centers on Tig as she leaves Los Angeles and returns to her hometown in Mississippi upon her mother’s untimely death. What begins as Tig reconciling her mother’s affairs becomes a poignant and surprising exploration of family, childhood and life after grief. Notaro, Kate Robin, M. Blair Breard, Louis

Directed by Jeffrey Reiner
Airs Sundays at 10 pm Et on Showtime
While the end of the Soloways’ stay in Montauk seemed to signal the end of the affair between Alison and Noah, last week’s episode proved that, while the two may have tried to move on by being honest with their spouses, time had not dulled the affection the two seemed to feel for each other, nor had it lessened the desire for the affair’s continuation on either side. This week’s episode sees Alison and Noah take drastic steps to act on things they have wanted to do for a long time, in another compelling episode that further develops Noah and Alison, giving the audience the clearest look yet at what drives both individuals.

The Writers Guild of America announced the TV nominees for the 2015 WGA Awards on Thursday (December 4) morning and several new shows broke into the fields in a big way. And, of course, there were a number of big WGA Award nomination head-scratchers. Specifically, where the heck was FX's "Fargo"? The answer is below. Making perhaps the biggest splash was "Transparent," which earned three nominations and, since "Orange Is The New Black" earned two nods and "House of Cards" pick up one, that meant that Amazon Prime and Netflix are, at least for one award-giving organization, on equal footing as creators of original programming. The Jill Soloway-created "Transparent" is nominated for New Series, where it will go against "The Affair," "The Knick," "Silicon Valley" and "True Detective." "Transparent" and "Silicon Valley" are also up for Comedy Series, going against "Louie," "Veep" and "Orange Is The New Black." Lest you panic...

With the return to Brooklyn, however, comes the reveal of the affair to both Helen and Cole, and both of them react in different ways that is bound to inform the course of both marriages, in another compelling episode.

The Affair, Season 1, Episode 5: “5″
Written by Kate Robin
Directed by Carl Franklin
Airs Sundays at 10 pm Et on Showtime
To date, The Affair has focused on what led Alison and Noah to engage in infidelity, as well as what caused them to fall for each other. While early episodes made it clear that Noah’s attraction to Alison outweighed Alison’s attraction to Noah, the past few weeks have begun to show why Alison found herself attracted to Noah specifically. This week’s episode turns the focus back to the individual lives of Alison and Noah, giving the audience a deeper understanding of why the two continue to engage in extramarital relations with each other, in another strong outing for the show that reveals the answers to one of the season’s major mysteries.

Exclusive: HBO has put in development Carthage, a drama series project from playwright-screenwriter Kate Robin (Six Feet Under), which she is executive producing with former HBO entertainment president-turned-producer Sue Naegle. Written by Robin, Carthage is an examination of small-town America and how the repercussions of a tragic event — the rape of a high-school girl — can spread past those directly involved, affecting the community and, ultimately, society as a whole. The project reunites Robin and Naegle who, as an HBO executive, developed and ordered to pilot Robin’s project Spring/Fall, which starred Tea Leoni and Hope Davis. Carthage also extends Robin’s relationship with HBO, where she worked on Six Feet Under for the drama series’ entire run. She currently serves as co-executive producer on Showtime’s newly picked-up drama series The Affair. Robin is with UTA. Related: 2014 HBO Pilots...

HBO has greenlit a new series from Sex and The City writer-producer Kate Robin called Spring/Fall, which will follow "an admittedly-dysfunctional lesbian couple in New York City." Téa Leoni has been cast as one of the women, and is also producing the show with Robin and documentarian R.J. Cutler (The September Issue).
This is obviously incredibly exciting news, as this will be the fourth in a series of new shows featuring lesbian characters slated for 2011. However Spring/Fall, which begins production in June, will be the only show that focuses explicitly on the two women involved in a relationship. And considering it will be airing on HBO vs. the CW, Fox and NBC where the rest of the shows are, it could include much more sex (or at least frank discussions of it).
However some reports on the show being greenlit refer to Leoni's relationship with the other woman as a "partnership.

Tea Leoni hasn't done TV since 1998, with the exception of a brief appearance on husband David Duchovny's The X-Files, but that's about to change.
HBO has just greenlit Spring/Fall, starring Leoni as one half of an admittedly-dysfunctional parnership** in New York City and penned by Sex and The City writer-producer Kate Robin. Leoni and Robin are co-producing the project as well as working in conjunction with documentary filmmaker R.J. Cutler (The September Issue). The project begins production in June.
