The following contains major spoilers for The Flash
The Flash Season 8 Episode 13
The Flash season 8 has been one of the most emotional runs in recent memory, from the returns of fan favorites like Ray Palmer, Jefferson Pierce, and Mia Queen in the Armageddon event to the “reappearance” of Ronnie Raymond in the current Deathstorm arc. Now, viewers already know that the being we believed to be Caitlin Snow’s resurrected dead husband is actually Deathstorm, a monstrous cosmic being known born of the singularity that killed Ronnie. (And sparked his determination to essentially make Caitlin his death bride.)
But if that wasn’t enough for Team Flash’s resident scientist to deal with, she also suffers an enormous emotional blow this week, when Frost—her sister, former alter ego, and sometimes dark twin—-passes away after dosing herself with transdimensional particles in order to fight Deathstorm and Caitlin is unable to stabilize her.

The following contains spoilers for The Flash
The Flash Season 8 Episode 12
The Flash returns from a week off to pick up the pieces in the wake of one of its biggest cliffhangers in recent memory: the revelation that the mysterious Black Flame isn’t, in fact, Ronnie Raymond resurrected and returned, but Deathstorm, a monstrous being that feeds on grief and seems more than a little obsessed with his widow Caitlin.
Though Deathstorm clearly comes from the same long line of colorful, outlandish comic book villains Team Flash has often been tasked with facing, this story is, at its heart, one about very real and recognizable emotions: Love, grief, loss, the idea that some part of us will always miss those who aren’t with us anymore, no matter long they may have been gone. And, in many ways, those are the kinds of everyday stories The Flash has always tried to tell.

[Warning: The below contains Major spoilers for Season 8, Episode 11, of The Flash, “Resurrection.” If you don’t want to be spoiled, go rewatch the first season when Ronnie Raymond was alive.] Death clearly becomes Robbie Amell. Even before his gig as the deceased Nathan in Prime Video’s terrific Upload, the cousin of Arrow star Stephen Amell was killing it with a series of demises as The Flash‘s Ronnie Raymond. Introduced in Season 1 as Caitlin’s (Danielle Panabaker) structural-engineer bf-turned-husband and offed in the finale when his half of Firestorm was vaporized in the Singularity, Amell has made a handful of return visits—and each one culminated in whatever version of his character he was playing meeting some dead end. And now he’s back again, only this time, he’s playing Deathstorm—basically, Earth-2’s anti-Ronnie—and causing major chaos. For a bit, we thought the big bad was this fire-meta, but it was revealed at the end...

Just when we thought he was gone for good, Robbie Amell came back in a flash! Though Amell exited the CW's The Flash back in 2020, he's making a comeback and will reprise his role as Ronnie Raymond on April 13. In an E! News exclusive interview, the actor discussed what it was like returning to the series and reuniting with his cast members. Apparently, Amell's return had been a topic of conversation for quite some time. "They've asked in the past and I've always wanted to but a lot of it just comes down to scheduling issues," the 33-year-old explained, "so luckily this one just worked out really well." "I was so happy to be there,"...

Ah, the seasonal DC 80 page giant, the source of must love and dislike down the years. As I’m sure everyone does, I love the fact DC puts out these Christmas/ Holidays/ Winter Specials, but I can’t escape the feeling that they used to put far more effort and talent into them. Rather than just inviting big names to contribute a fun seasonal story, it now seems to be characters they want spotlighted assigned to writers to deliver a story. It seems Caitlin’s frequent mentioning of her ex on The Flash this season was laying the groundwork for a comeback: Robbie Amell will reprise his role as Ronnie Raymond (aka one half of the original Firestorm) during two episodes of Season 8, EW.com reports.
Amell will first appear in Episode 11, long after the current “Armageddon” five-part event wraps up on Dec. 14. (The series will then resume with fresh installments on its new night, Wednesday, March 9.) No details are currently available about how Amell’s character will return or in what form.

Like any TV show that goes on for long enough, The Flash has had its fair share of actors and characters coming and going. One of the former members of its ensemble of stars, though, Robbie Amell, is certainly open to returning.
Amell appeared throughout the show’s first season as Ronnie Raymond, Caitlyn’s fiancé who was originally thought killed in the particle accelerator explosion that birthed metahumans, but had actually merged with nuclear physicist Dr. Martin Stein into the superhero Firestorm. In the season 2 premiere, it was quickly revealed that the episode title “The Man Who Saved Central City” referred not to Barry as you would naturally presume, but Ronnie, who sacrificed his life to close the black hole singularity created by Team Flash’s meddling with time in a failed attempt to eliminate the threat of Reverse-Flash.

The Flash actor Robbie Amell has already appeared as the DC’s Ronnie Raymond aka Firestorm, but he’s recently expressed interest in playing several McU superheroes if the opportunity arises.
Fan casting has always been one of the great hobbies of online communities. Sometimes, the candidate in question is so perfect for the role that even concept artists get roped into the debate and draw up designs of the respective actors in costume. And ever since Robbie Amell appeared in the first season of The Flash as a regular, fans have always wondered whether he’d be up for playing another superhero in a different fictional universes.
Of course, it goes without saying that the Arrowverse community would prefer to see the actor return as Ronnie, but as Amell recently explained, resurrecting dead people in that particular multiverse is problematic for everyone involved. So, if bringing back Ronnie is so impractical,...

Much like their Arrow counterpart, Barry Allen’s team on The Flash has gone through significant changes over the years, but despite many colorful newcomers, fans still miss Robbie Amell’s Firestorm.
The CW’s Arrowverse is no stranger to bringing dead characters back. In fact, the network and its storytellers have come under fire multiple times for resurrecting characters to serve plot convenience. Even in the “Crisis” event, the writers killed off Oliver only to have him come back as Spectre in the next episode. So, would it be too much of a stretch to assume that they’re eventually going to return to Ronnie Raymond’s Firestorm?
Of course, Robbie Amell has reprised his role several times in the form of alternate Ronnies from different Earths, and even our original Firestorm from Earth-1 in flashbacks, but can we expect the character to properly return to the show one day?...

Robbie Amell was a major part of The Flash in its debut season as Ronnie Raymond, fiancee to Caitlin Snow and the original Firestorm. However, he died off-screen before season 2, sacrificing himself to close the wormhole that had opened up above Central City. Since then, he’s returned for a couple of guest spots. First, as Ronnie’s evil Earth-2 doppelgänger Deathstorm and then as a mirage within the Speed Force.
He hasn’t been seen on the show since season 3, however. While speaking to ComicBook.com, Amell revealed that he would “love” to drop by the DC universe once again, but he also made a very good point about how it’s difficult to bring back old characters into the Arrowverse shows, as it’s hard to fit them into the plot without them stealing screentime away from the regular cast.
“I would always go back to The Flash,” Amell said.

Barry Allen’s had a bunch of different costumes over the six seasons of The Flash so far, but he’s never pulled a Spider-Man and gone for a full-black look. If you like your superheroes decked out in dark colors, though, you might want to check out Grant Gustin’s latest Instagram post, in which he reveals an old Bts image of himself dressed in a cool black version of the Scarlet Speedster’s outfit.
The snap comes from pre-production on season 5, when they were still getting the Flash’s revamped suit together. To clarify, they were never going to go with a black costume, it’s just that they had yet to get the right fabric when this was taken.
Check out Gustin’s caption explaining all this and the pic in question below:

Robbie Amell, who once played Firestorm in the Arrowverse, is currently busy taking in the reception for his new movie called Code 8, but the actor has now said that he’d be open to reprising his role in The Flash as Ronnie Raymond.

Ronnie then merged with Professor Martin Stein and became Firestorm, but ultimately succumbed to a heroic death by saving Central City from a singularity.

It's amazing how much "Exceptional Human Beings" does in 22 minutes without doing a single thing wrong. Or even "not good enough to be free of complaint." I went back and watched parts of the episode a second time to find something to critique and I got nothing. That is astonishing. I live to complain. Just before we get to grips with the “Elseworlds” crossover this Sunday, the Arrowverse will reach another milestone first, as The Flash celebrates its 100th ever episode. In true Central City style, the outing will feature some time-traveling shenanigans and looks to be a celebration of how far the show’s come over the past five seasons.
Episode 5×08, titled “What’s Past is Prologue,” will see Barry Allen and his daughter from the future Nora dive back into the speedster’s personal history as part of a new plan to stop big bad Cicada. As the previous promo proved, the premise is a way to give us the return of the show’s past major foes (see: Savitar, Zoom and Tom Cavanagh’s Reverse-Flash).

Last night’s episode of Supergirl took a leaf out of Marvel’s book and ended with a post-credits tease that set up what’s to come.

The “Elseworlds” tease we mentioned above opened on a title card revealing that the unfolding scene took place on Earth-90. We pan across a battlefield strewn with the corpses of familiar heroes, anti-heroes and villains. The only one left alive is John Wesley Shipp’s Flash, from the 1990s TV show. Aside from laying claim to stunning action sequences, The Flash has especially excelled at crafting compelling interpersonal relationships between its major players, thereby lending itself to great drama and much levity. To date, we normally think of Barry Allen as being the nucleus at S.T.A.R. Labs, as we don’t often see too many of the characters fraternizing apart from the group unless it pertains to romantic pursuits.
Well, it looks like that’s about to change come this fall, proving that Barry and Cisco aren’t the only members of Team Flash who are allowed to be besties. As you’re aware of by now, episode 4×5 will be titled “Girls Night Out” and will see Arrow‘s Felicity Smoak make her return to Central City. Word on the street is that Iris West’s bachelorette party will be seen in said installment, which we have to admit sounds entirely plausible.

By this time last year, the warning signs were everywhere, and it was right about now that I started to really skewer this show for what I considered to be some cheap shots and easy ways out. With just a handful of episodes to go until that May 23rd deadline (which also marks the actual season finale date), I'm hard pressed at...

In 1986, Kurt Russell ran into the mystic night in Big Trouble in Little China. That same year, Tom Cruise rode into the danger zone in Top Gun. Now, 31 years later, The Flash ventures “Into The Speed Force.”
Having learned last season that the ethereal plane the Speed Force occupies is no easy place to escape, we must tip our hats to Barry Allen for having the courage to go back there. Honestly, he probably hoped never to do so, but knowing the selfless hero that he is, there’s nothing he wouldn’t do to bring back Wally West, who also happens to be a vital element in the plan to save Iris in the future.
In this freshly released featurette, executive producer Aaron Helbing lends some insight into just how taxing this trial will be. Not only that, but facsimiles of Eddie Thawne, Leonard Snart and Ronnie Raymond will...

In last night’s episode of The Flash, Wally West was tricked into taking Savitar’s place in the Speed Force and it’s now up to the Fastest Man Alive to save him. However, journeying into the mysterious dimension which gives speedsters their powers isn’t exactly straightforward, something which is evident from the shocking return of Eddie Thawne, Ronnie Raymond and Captain Cold in the gallery up above.
Based on what we’ve seen of the Speed Force in the past, these are probably just physical manifestations of the power which will help (or hinder) the Flash’s attempts to rescue his friend. Despite that, it should still be interesting to see how he responds to the three dead men here.

The Speed Force is staging a major reunion on The Flash.
When Barry turns to the extra-dimensional energy for answers during next Tuesday’s episode (The CW, 8/7c), he comes face-to-face with several deceased characters, as seen in these photos.

Among the familiar faces making a return: Caitlin’s husband Ronnie Raymond, aka Firestorm (played by Robbie Amell), Iris’ ex Eddie Thawne (Rick Cosnett) and Barry’s frenemy Leonard Snart, aka Captain Cold (Wentworth Miller). Jay Garrick also makes an appearance to, hopefully, impart some wisdom on the troubled speedster.

So, on The Flash, there have been a couple of theories of the true identity of Savitar, and the top two candidates are Eddie Thawne or Wally west. The only time we have seen Savitar without armor on was from behind, and he was played by Daniel Cudmore (the actor that played Colossus in the X-Men movies, not the Deadpool voice-over). However, this means nothing, as we have already seen the ability for a speedster to change his appearance using future tech. Being trapped in the speedforce allows one to travel through time and see visions of everything at once.

Though we were first introduced to Firestrom on The CW's Flash through a molecular fusion of Ronnie Raymond (Robbie Amell) and Prof. Stein (Victor Garber), following Ronnie's heroic sacrifice, the duo of Jay Jackson (Franz Drameh) and Stein have been working in tandem as the fiery superhero for far longer. However, it was recently announced that Robbie would be returning to the show and Entertainment Weekly caught up with the actor at the NHL All-Star Celebrity Game to try and get the scoop on his upcoming guest spot. "I was there last week. I can tell you that my scenes are with Grant [Gustin] and Danielle [Panabaker]. And I may or may not be alive. It’s always great to work with all of them. I rarely get to have scenes with Grant. The only time he and I had a scene that was just the two of us I was Stein at the time.

Ronnie Raymond is returning to The Flash, but not necessarily the one who helped close the Singularity back in the season two premiere. Entertainment Weekly reports that Robbie Amell has signed up to reprise the role, but beyond knowing that he'll show up in a winter episode, they don't offer any more specifics. Since the character's death, we've met his Earth-2 doppelganger in the form of Deathstorm. Zoom took him out, so he won't be returning but theories that the original Ronnie somehow survived that explosion which sealed the breach between worlds have been doing the rounds for ages now. Given the vulnerable mental state of Caitlin Snow, as she transforms into Killer Frost, chances are Ronnie will just show up as a hallucination, so it may be too soon to start getting excited about this news. With any luck, The CW will reveal some details soon, so let us know your theories below.

Firestorm was an exciting addition to the first season of The Flash, but fans of Ronnie Raymond were left reeling when the character was killed off in the season 2 premiere. Many suspected that he had been left stranded on Earth-2 after closing the breach above Central City, but it didn’t take long until Ronnie was replaced by Jefferson Jackson.
Alongside Martin Stein, he’s the new Firestorm in Legends of Tomorrow, but is there a chance that Earth-1’s Ronnie could make a return? Robbie Amell certainly hopes so.
“Well the nice thing is when you’re dead in that universe there is always another Earth, but I think that version [Earth-1] of Ronnie is dead because he sacrificed himself to save the city, but you know there is always Earth-3, Earth-4, Earth-5…”
So, the Ronnie we knew is gone, but at least the door is open to another version showing up.

Fans of original Firestorm Ronnie Raymond were dealt a hard blow in season 2 of The Flash, when it was revealed that the character sacrificed his life to destroy the singularity that threatened to consume Central City. Ronnie returned later in the season, though it was an evil version of the character from Earth-2 - dubbed Deathstorm - who served the central villain, Zoom. This version of Ronnie was also killed off in the same episode. Fans of the show have held out hope that Ronnie survived the closing of the singularity, but during an interview at Heroes and Villians Fan Fest in Atlanta, Georgia, actor Robbie Amell seemingly confirmed that the Earth-1 incarnation is deceased. From the humble beginnings of Arrow‘s very grounded first season in 2012, a wide-ranging, ever-growing shared universe of DC TV shows has sprung. With The Flash, Supergirl, Legends of Tomorrow and of course, animated webseries Vixen, the so-called Arrowverse has been a gift come true for fans, as it’s brought so many previously neglected heroes to the screen – as well as creating some of its own from scratch.
But while Oliver Queen is still a billionaire archer, Barry Allen is still the fastest man alive and Kara Danvers remains Superman’s cousin, many of their sidekicks, allies and associated team members have had their backstories, powers or even personalities altered in the transition from the page to the screen.
More News From The Web
Sometimes this is due to different versions of the character being blended together – such as The Flash‘s Wally West borrowing from both the Post-Crisis and New 52 incarnations.

Something has been nagging at me about The CW's fantastic superhero show, The Flash. I hadn't been able to put it into words until last night...just before a character did. Why aren't more metahumans using their powers for good? When Arrow first aired on The CW, I was less interested that it was trying to be a Batman show and more in the potential of other heroes who might join Oliver on his crusade down the road. Eventually, a team was built up with other characters making guest appearances along the way. But something I always wanted to see was metahuman heroes. With TV budget limitations I know they can't go too big with that sort of thing. But I thought there was huge missed potential with their introduction of not one (Sara Lance), not two (Laurel Lance), but technically three (Evelyn Sharp) Black Canary's into their canon, none...

With Welcome to Earth-2, The CW’s Flash delivered one of its very best episodes to date. Seriously, this is an outing that left jaws agape, smiles across faces, and gave long-time comic book fans a whole host of Easter eggs, nods, winks, and references to warm their inner geek.
Plot-wise, this episode saw Barry Allen, Cisco Ramon and Harry Wells head over to Earth-2 in order to rescue Wells’ daughter Jesse and to hopefully put a stop to uber-rogue Zoom once and for all. Rather than waiting for Zoom to come to them, they decide to take the fight to his world. Unfortunately, all doesn’t exactly go to plan, and Barry even ends up locked in a cell alongside Jesse by the time the episode comes to a close.

If I could tagline "The Flash" season two, it would be "the season of surprises," because every episode so far has dropped a huge bomb. So, when Robbie Amell was spotted on the set of The CW series, fans took it as confirmation that their theories that Ronnie survived and took refuge on Earth-2 were correct.
