(Cbr) Three people were hurt Saturday in San Diego when a car drove through the annual ZombieWalk held in conjunction with Comic-Con International. A 64-year-old passersby was taken to the hospital with a possible broken arm, and the other two suffered only minor injuries. Accounts of the incident vary, but the San Diego Police Department says a deaf family with small children was stopped at Second and Island avenues as the procession of hundreds of participants in zombie makeup lumbered by their car. Officer David Stafford told U-t San Diego that after waiting several minutes, the 48-year-old driver started rolling slowly into the crowd because his children were frightened. According to police, several people surrounded the car and began hitting it, shattering the windshield. That’s when the father reportedly drove forward again, striking the 64-year-old woman. The crowd chased after the car down as the family drove toward a police officer.

‘X Factor’ Musical ‘I Can’t Sing’ Delays Previews By Two Days Previews of Simon Cowell‘s The X Factor musical, I Can’t Sing, have been postponed by two days at the London Palladium. Stage Entertainment and Syco Entertainment are producing the show and say they’ve decided to start previews on March 1 as opposed to February 27 due to “technical issues caused by the ambitious staging of the new musical comedy.” Rebecca Quigley, producer for Stage Entertainment, said, “As audiences will soon see, the production is hugely ambitious, and the volume of installation and scale of the set means that technical work has taken slightly longer than could have been anticipated to make the show audience-ready.” Nigel Harman (EastEnders, Downton Abbey) is playing a character based on Cowell in the musical that’s directed by Olivier Award-winner and Tony nominee Sean Foley. British comedian Harry Hill wrote the show.

Ripper Street‘s Matthew Macfadyen and Episodes‘ Stephen Mangan are set to star in Perfect Nonsense, a new take on the works of P.G. Wodehouse. The play will see Mangan as bumbling fop Bertie Wooster and Macfadyen as his brilliant butler Jeeves. Wodehouse first created the characters in 1915 and they’ve been portrayed on stage and screen going back to 1935. More recently, Stephen Fry played Jeeves to Hugh Laurie’s Bertie in the cult 1990s ITV series Jeeves & Wooster. Tony and Olivier Award nominee Sean Foley is directing Perfect Nonsense with previews starting in the UK in October. There’s no word yet on a Stateside transfer. Foley’s I Can’t Sing! — The X Factor Musical, produced by Simon Cowell’s Syco, is gearing up for a March 2014 rollout in London.

The title of Harry Hill's new musical based on The X Factor has been revealed as I Can't Sing.
The 48-year-old comedian described the show, which features caricatures of Simon Cowell, Cheryl Cole and Louis Walsh, as a "mickey-taking spectacular".
"We'd been umm-ing and ahh-ing about the title for a while, then it hit us - there's never been a musical called I Can't Sing," Hill said.
"It also happens to be the title of one of the funniest songs in the show, and we hope hints at the direction we're taking this production.
"We think it's also the only musical for a while with a singing hunchback, a talking dog and a man on an iron lung, but we'd have to Google that to be sure.
"We're pretty certain that you won't have seen anything like it before and it's great that Simon is backing it 4,500%."

Joe Orton’s 1969 farce What The Butler Saw, published and performed after the author’s death, is considered to be his finest work. The play has been revived this summer for a run at the Vaudeville Theatre, London, with a cracking cast and director. The play begins with Dr Prentice (Tim McInnerny) trying to seduce an applicant (Georgia Moffett) for an assistant role; his wife walks in un-expectantly (played by Samantha Bond) and Prentice’s attempts to conceal his adulterous seduction kick starts a shocking, sometimes horrible but always hilarious chain of events.
Designer Alice Power’s set is brilliant; Dr. Prentice’s consultation room is transformed into an image most resembling an impressionist painting, the walls and doors all shoot off at odd angles and the floor slightly slopes away from the audience. This perfectly matches the plays relationship with insanity. Director Sean Foley, hot...

Theatrical farce adapted from the classic Ealing comedy set to tour into 2013 after record ticket sales in the West End
Little old landladies are to get their revenge all over the country after Graham Linehan's stage adaptation of The Ladykillers, currently playing at the West End's Gielgud theatre, announced that it will embark on a tour of the UK and Ireland.
After receiving five Olivier award nominations last week, The Ladykillers will start its tour in Plymouth on 14 September. The production will continue to tour into 2013, with further dates to be announced.
As well as garnering positive reviews, Linehan's adaptation, which turns the classic Ealing comedy into a theatrical farce, has already proved a big earner for its producers Fiery Angel. Following a pre-West End run in Liverpool, the show recouped its entire £750,000 outlay only six weeks after opening in London. Graham Linehan's stage adaptation of The Ladykillers succeeds where the Coen brothers failed: it's actually funny
Graham Linehan's new stage adaptation of the classic 1955 Ealing movie The Ladykillers, directed by Sean Foley, is up and running in London's West End. My colleague Michael Billington has delivered his verdict and I went to see it the other day. The questions this production throws up – apart from "Wasn't that brilliant?" and "When for goodness' sake can I see it again?" – are "How has Mr Linehan bucked the trend of film-to-play adaptations being so cynical and awful?" and "How has he succeeded where the Coen brothers failed?"
Joel and Ethan Coen produced their own remake of The Ladykillers in 2004. The original had a wacky criminal gang, led by Alec Guinness's loopy professor, renting a room in a tumbledown old house in London's King's Cross from a sweet old lady, whom...

Now more than 50 years old, Ealing comedy The Ladykillers is one of Britain's best-loved films. So how will Graham Linehan, writer of The It Crowd and Father Ted, rework it for the theatre?
In the vaulting back room of a church off Islington's Upper Street in north London, five bad bogus men are plotting to bump off a little old lady. It is a hugely ambitious undertaking. Not only is The Ladykillers one of Britain's best-loved films, but the cast of the 1955 production – Alec Guinness, Peter Sellers, Cecil Parker, Herbert Lom and Danny Green – did include one or two actors that modern film programmes like to wrongly refer to as "legends", even if (pedantry aside) you know what they mean.
But this won't be a film; it's a stage version. And it's far from a knock-off of the film. The story's pretty much the same, of course – criminals posing as...

Kenneth Branagh's returned to his native Belfast for a play that proves he can do slapstick and Shakespeare
The first thing Kenneth Branagh did when he returned to his home town of Belfast a fortnight ago was to visit his old house. It was a red-brick terrace on Mount Collier Road in a Protestant area of north Belfast, where Branagh had lived with his parents and his older brother, Bill, until he was nine years old and the family left for a new life in England.
Now, 41 years later, Branagh can still remember the streets of his childhood, the way he used to walk to school and the fact that everyone knew his name. "When you were being called in for your tea, if you couldn't see your mother, the yell from the doorstep would come to you jungle-drums fashion," he says. "Someone two streets away would tell you...

Alec Guinness classic crime caper re-cast as stage play in Liverpool by Father Ted and It Crowd writer Graham Linehan
It might be about criminals exploiting a sweet old lady so they can rob a bank, but The Ladykillers is regularly named as one of the nation's favourite comedy films. Now the Ealing classic is to be brought to the stage in a new version written by Father Ted and The It Crowd writer Graham Linehan.
Producers will announce that the memorably dark and stylish 1955 film is being adapted for the stage, with Peter Capaldi in the role of the charming but sinister gang leader Professor Marcus, played first by Alec Guinness.
The stage play will be very much Linehan's version. "I wanted the film to haunt the play rather than it be a transcription," he said.

Now let’s go back a moment here for a sec.
