Director: Michaël R Roskam; Screenwriter: Dennis Lehane; Starring: Tom Hardy, Noomi Rapace, James Gandolfini, Matthias Schoenaerts; Running time: 106 mins; Certificate: 15
Apart from being James Gandolfini's final film, The Drop is struck through with melancholy. There are other familiar notes, but it's not your conventional gangster flick and being penned by Dennis Lehane (the novelist behind Mystic River, Gone Baby Gone and Shutter Island), that air of tragedy soaks through into the very bones of the story. It doesn't run quite as deep as those first two, but still it lingers.
Tom Hardy is ideal casting in what is, essentially, a character study of a loner with an uncommonly strong moral code, albeit warped by his environment. His cousin's drinking hole in Brooklyn is where Bob spends his days, tending bar and turning the other cheek as dirty money is moved in and out of the premises by the new wave of Chechen crime lords.

Season 10 of The Bachelorette is only on its second episode, but already feelings have been ignited and the drama has begun. Andi Dorfman, 26, an assistant district attorney from Atlanta, is this season’s Bachelorette. During the second episode of the season, Andi finally got to start dating the 19 men still in the running for her love.
Eric Hill Romances Andi Dorfman In One-On-One
Andi chose her first one-on-one date to be with Eric Hill, 31, an explorer from California. Unfortunately, we know that Eric died after taping The Bachelorette after being severely injured in a paragliding accident. Producers decided that it would be best to honor Eric by keeping him in the show and dedicating this season to him.
Eric and Andi’s date was nothing short of fun and romantic. It started with a trip to the beach, where the couple built sandcastles and admitted to still loving simple activities like playing in the sand.

Last week, we saw Mr. Feeny moseying about the Girl Meets World set; however, it appears he wasn't just visiting. TV Line reports that William Daniels will in fact be appearing in the pilot for Girl Meets World. (Pause for screams of "Feeeee-naaay!") There's no word if this is just a guest spot or if he'll continue through when the show gets picked up. Rider Strong and Will Friedle (Shawn and Eric, obvs) were also on set, but will not be appearing in the pilot. But what if we ask super nicely?...

Ah, the eternal question -- at least around the Moviefone water cooler -- what to watch this weekend? But, there are so many choices! Or, sometimes, not enough. Luckily, your trusty editors narrowed down the best of what's debuting at the cinema -- or screening on your TV -- to make your weekend that much better. Take a look at our picks below! "Identity Thief" By now, you've surely seen the trailer for this movie featuring Melissa McCarthy saying, "Sandy Bigelow .. Patterson!" and Jason Bateman's character stating he's "going after Bilbo." While I chuckled a bit the first few times I saw it, after the 30th time it loses some of its luster. Years of experience have taught me that one trailer = disaster, but I still want to root for this comedic team. McCarthy's winning turn in "Bridesmaids" wasn't a fluke -- the woman is genuinely hilarious, and Bateman is no slouch,...

It's almost Christmas and all through the boat house plans were being made for some time away. And then an NCIS Agent Afloat was murdered and all those plans were ruined.
On "Free Ride," the NCIS team went undercover on a air craft carrier to investigate the death of a fellow agent, ending up in the middle of an odd cocaine epidemic on board. Did they solve the case and get back home before Christmas?
The members had such great plans or almost-plans set up for their holidays. Sam actually bought his daughter's Christmas present early this year, unlike last year's Parker Pony debacle. Though he couldn't find it. Nice job, Sam. In contrast to his traditional family Christmas, the thought of Kensi and her mother spending the holiday with Deeks on a vacation was weird. I just can't picture it.
Well, actually I can and it would be filled with various calamities,...

There is either a couple of football fans or Jerry Maguire/Moneyball with this year’s most liked unproduced screenplay. Close to 300 hundred film executives provided with the Black List creators a top ten of their favorite screenplays of the year and the consensus first overall pick (with 65 votes) comes from the recently featured in Variety (10 Screenwriters to Watch 2012) tandem of Rajiv Joseph & Scott Rothman and their drama which has nothing to do with enlisting in the armed forces. Draft Day – about the day in the life of a fictitious Buffalo Bills Gm appears to currently be in turnaround — which only means I expect to see this greenlight perhaps a little later than sooner – worth noting: top spot almost guarantees that the film will indeed go into production (2006, 2010 and 2011 are the exceptions.) Among the more alluring logline subjects we find on the list, I’d be keen on reading the...

Real Steel director Shawn Levy is set to produce a new sci-fi thriller with FilmNation Entertainment called Story of Your Life. The script for the film comes from Eric Heisserer (The Thing, A Nightmare on Elm Street) and it will be directed by commercial director Nic Mathieu.
The movie is based on an award-winning short story by Ted Chiang and it's described as "a mind-bending science fiction thriller with a powerful, emotional twist. After aliens land around the globe, a linguist is recruited by the Us government in a race to decipher their intentions on Earth."
FilmNation’s Aaron Ryder had this to say in a statement,
When you look at Ted Chiang's powerful source material, how deftly Eric and the team at 21 Laps handled the adaptation, and what Nic's vision brings to the film, it's no surprise that there's been so much competitive interest. We're looking forward to working...
