“Law & Order Toronto: Criminal Intent” may be the biggest original TV series premiere Canada has ever had. That means, when that famous “dun-dun” opens the series on Feb. 22 via Citytv, the pressure is on.
It’s notoriously hard to get a show greenlit in Canada. Funding challenges, market size and competition from U.S. acquisitions mean few, if any, Canadian series debut on the Big 3 commercial networks each season. Even public broadcaster CBC, which boasts the highest number of originals on a major network, still relies on acquisitions to fill out its primetime programming grid.
Figuring out how to make noise with a new series in a crowded landscape isn’t a uniquely Canadian challenge, but there are more hurdles here. That’s why from the beginning, a Canadian adaptation of “Criminal Intent” felt like a win — at least from a viewership and marketing standpoint. It’s a recognizable...

For the second week in a row, there is no chance of a vote-flip on “Big Brother 25.” Cory is going out the door on Thursday, but he’s taking a page out of Cameron‘s book and causing some chaos — and the results have been highly entertaining.
Cory spent Wednesday campaigning but really stirring the pot and giving us some last-minute drama. Inspired by “Big Brother Canada’s” Kevin Jacobs, he donned his pink suit and called himself attorney at law to present his case (Kevin wholeheartedly approved). He claimed he had some votes he didn’t have and exposed various endgame planes. During a cam-talk later, he told feedsters that he knows he’s cooked and said he had a good time and is proud of himself for making it this far as an introvert. He clocked his strengths and weaknesses, one of the latter being that he can’t put people at ease.

Once again, the search is on for the cast of Big Brother. It takes more than being a superfan to get cast. Claire Rehfuss from Big Brother 23 gave her casting tips for Big Brother 25 applicants.

Over the years, “Big Brother Canada” has worked hard to make sure that contestants are being represented across the reality series, ultimately allowing viewers at home to see themselves on screen.
Thanks to a “team effort,” involving “Big Brother Canada” host Arisa Cox, “everyone came together to make that happen,” she told Et Canada’s Jedson Tavernier, who was a houseguest on season 9 that “felt more comfortable” thanks to the show’s efforts.

The backbone of Big Brother has been and always will be the live feeds. Without them, the CBS competition series isn’t special and is just like any other edited reality show. And if CBS ever entertains the thought of removing live feeds from Big Brother, they should just cancel the series instead.
Taylor Hale | Photo: CBS ‘Big Brother Canada’ canceled live feeds for season 11
Big Brother fans received terrible news when the Canadian version of the show’s Twitter account announced that the upcoming season wouldn’t feature the standard live feeds.
The tweet reads, “Attention Bbcan fam! As we head into Season 11, Big Brother Canada‘s Live Feeds are evolving. Behind the scenes content will now be delivered through Digital Dailies — uncut footage from inside the Bbcan house, offering viewers an extended peek into the houseguests’ lives.”

Big Brother Canada has announced its plans to replace live feeds with an edited daily segment, upsetting fans. However, the US version probably won’t follow suit.
‘Big Brother Canada’ removes Live Feeds
Big Brother Canada shocked the Bb community when it announced its plans to replace the 24/7 live feeds with Digital Dailies, beginning in the upcoming season 11. The Dailies will consist of “uncut content from inside the Bbcan house” and will be released weekly throughout the season.
As it’s only a selected portion of the content caught on camera, many fans are concerned that producers will remove anything that doesn’t paint their houseguests in a good light to reduce controversy.

Nikki Grahame, a former reality TV star and “Big Brother U.K.” contestant, has died at the age of 38 after a long and public battle with anorexia.
According to a GoFundMe page set up in Grahame’s name earlier this year after she was hospitalized due to her condition, Grahame died early Friday. No other details were provided.
“It breaks our hearts to know that someone who is so precious was taken from us at such a young age,” the page reads. “Nikki not only touched the lives of millions of people, but also her friends and family who will miss her immensely.”
Grahame first appeared on the seventh season of “Big Brother U.K.” in 2006, later returning for “Ultimate Big Brother” and “Big Brother Canada.” She also starred in her own “Simple Life”-esque reality series, “Princess Nikki,” which ran on E4 for six episodes in 2006.

“Big Brother” will have its first triple eviction ever on Thursday, but it won’t be the first triple eviction in global franchise history. Our neighbors up north, “Big Brother Canada,” have been doing triple evictions for years — and the format is not the same as a double eviction.
The inaugural triple eviction on “Big Brother Canada” was in its third season in 2015 (it has since done it on Seasons 5 and 6) and it works like this: After the regular eviction, a new Hoh is crowned, and he or she nominates three people for eviction. The Hoh does not compete in the Veto comp. If the Veto is used, the Hoh names a replacement. And here’s the biggest difference: The houseguests then cast their vote to save, not evict, one of the nominees. The two nominees with the fewest votes are then evicted.
So will “BB22” mimic “Bbcan”? It would...

It’s March 17th and if there’s any one, basic, simple apolitical truth we can all agree on, it’s this: You know about the coronavirus. It sounds reductionist to the point of moronic; even the most doltish Neanderthal or Henry Darger-worshipping recluse knows that the world is facing a major pandemic that requires outreach, unity, and physical isolation on a global, unprecedented scale. Whether you’re a responsible social distancer or an asshole who has to get that one last pub crawl in, the sole commonality is that this virus exists.

Salacious behavior, twists that push the human psyche to the extreme, and pressure-cooker production schedules are just some situations for which reality-show contestants may be signing on. Add in the increasing role of social media and audience tendencies to see contestants as characters, and providing proper mental-health support becomes more important than ever.

Alright, so as previously reported, CBS has definitely renewed their hit reality show "Big Brother" for a brand new season 20 which will debut next summer 2018. This means the producers and casting agents will be heavy in search of new houseguests to compete. According to Big Brother Network, Robyn Kass who is in charge of the casting company for the show Kassting Inc. recently hit up her official Twitter account to reveal that they are now accepting applications to apply for the new season 20. Her tweet reads like this: "#BB20 hopefuls- we r accepting applications, but casting won't start until next year. Check back around March/ April for open calls. :)" You guys can see it on Twitter by Clicking Here. The unfortunate news about all this is that Kassting Inc is the same company responsible for casting this past season 19 lousy houseguests who just threw all the competitions to Paul.
