Casey Anthony is breaking her silence since being acquitted of murder charges in the 2008 death of her then 2-year-old daughter, Caylee.
Anthony's infamous 2011 trial made headlines, and she was eventually found not guilty of first-degree murder, aggravated manslaughter of a child and aggravated child abuse, though she was convicted of four counts of lying to police (two of which were later overturned). In a new interview with The Associated Press, Anthony says she understands why some people believe her to be guilty.
"Based off what was in the media, I understand the reasons people feel about me," she says. "I understand why people have the opinions that they do."
Watch: Rob Lowe is 'Prosecuting Casey Anthony'
Anthony insists that to this day, she still doesn't know what happened to Caylee.
"I'm still not even certain as I stand here today about what happened," Anthony says. "Everyone has their theories, I don't know...

NBC is running the risk of losing out on one of TV’s best reality shows: the Republican presidential primary debates. The Gop’s debates of 2011-12 featured some of television’s most-talked-about moments, from Herman Cain’s 9-9-9 chorus to Rick Perry’s “Oops” moment to Mitt Romney’s $10,000 bet — and in 2015, there’s always the chance that Donald Trump could join the cast.
When NBC Entertainment announced in July that it was planning a 2014 miniseries about presumed presidential candidate Hillary Clinton, with Diane Lane playing the former first lady, there was an inevitable reaction from the Right.

The Saturday night premiere of the Lifetime original movie on the life of former Playmate Anna Nicole Smith pulled in 3.3 million viewers. Anna Nicole was even with the 3.3 million viewers the Rob Lowe-starring Prosecuting Casey Anthony drew on January 19. It was down from the 3.5 million that heavily hyped Liz & Dick with Lindsay Lohan garnered on November 25, 2012. Saturday’s movie drew a 2.6 household rating. Anna Nicole was the top original cable movie premiere of the year so far among adults 25-54 (1.6 million) and adults 18-49 (1.4 million). That’s best for Lifetime in the key demos as well as among women 25-54 and women 18-49 since last fall’s Steel Magnolias. Agnes Bruckner starred as Anna Nicole, alongside Martin Landau, Virginia Madsen, Adam Goldberg and Cary Elwes. Craig Zadan, Neil Meron and Judith Verno executive produced the Sony Pictures TV film which follows the softcore rise and harsh fall of the former Vickie Lynn Hogan,...

That's one way to establish yourself as a jetsetter. Rob Lowe strapped on a jetpack to get a taste of the air up there on March 20 in Newport Beach, Calif. Wearing a helmet as gusts of water stream by him, Lowe couldn't hide his smile as he soared through the air. Lowe, 49, was enjoying one expensive toy - the newest model of the Jetlev water propelled jetpack he's seen wearing retails for around $68,500. But maybe a little fun was just what the actor needed after recently starring in Lifetime's dramatic Prosecuting Casey Anthony.

While Lifetime’s new original movie, ‘Prosecuting Casey Anthony,’ drew in viewers curious about the Florida mother’s side of the story about her trial, her former lawyer, Jose Baez, felt the film offered no compelling evidence. While talking to Celebuzz in an exclusive interview, the lawyer, who himself watched the made-for-television drama, added that it didn’t offer any character study of Anthony, who was acquitted of killing her two-year-old daughter, Caylee. When asked his thoughts about ‘Prosecuting Casey Anthony,’ Baez said he thinks he’s the worst person to ask about the film’s quality. “When you’re in a situation like that, you seem to nitpick at a lot of the stuff that [ Read More ]

The Saturday premiere of the Lifetime original movie Prosecuting Casey Anthony starring Rob Lowe couldn’t quite top the numbers of the network’s Liz & Dick back in November. But the pic, billed as the first movie to chronicle the lightning-rod murder trial, did rank as the No. 1 telecast across ad-supported cable among total viewers and the key demos, according to Nielsen. It drew 3.3 million total viewers (compared with Liz & Dick‘s 3.5 million), 1.3 million adults 18-49 and 1.1 million women 25-54. It grew in viewers throughout, jumping 20% from the first half hour to the final 30 minutes among women 25-54. The hourlong documentary Beyond The Headlines: Prosecuting Casey Anthony followed and averaged 2.4 million total viewers, 1.1 million adults 18-49 and 854,000 women 25-54.

When last we saw Rob Lowe in a Lifetime movie, he was playing murderer Drew Peterson with a sandy mustache that made him look like the world's most dangerous park ranger.
Lowe has a much better vehicle for himself in Prosecuting Casey Anthony (Saturday, 8 p.m. Et/Pt), in which he plays Jeff Ashton, the Florida prosecutor who last year failed to win one of the country's most notorious capital cases.
As the court announces that Anthony, who had been charged with killing her 2-year-old daughter, Caylee, is guilty only of misdemeanor charges, Lowe clasps his hands in front of him and – in a fine,...

How you feel about Prosecuting Casey Anthony — whether you even choose to watch it — likely depends on how much time you spent watching the actual prosecution of Anthony, the young Florida woman acquitted of murdering her toddler daughter Caylee despite the sordid details of the case that held the nation in its thrall. Though the Lifetime film, which premieres Saturday night at 8, is culled from Florida prosecutor Jeff Ashton’s memoir Imperfect Justice: Prosecuting Casey Anthony, much of it feels like a retread of the endless footage that permeated television from the announcement of Caylee’s disappearance on July [...]...

We're starting to get details of American Horror Story's third season. Evan Peters and Sarah Paulson will return for the third story. Ryan Murphy added that he had promised Jessica Lange she'd get to wear some designer gowns to get her to return after playing Sister Jude, so her character this time will be a "glamour cat leading lady."
Meanwhile, the big industry news is that Fox might split American Horror Story's network into two channels. Broadcasting & Cable reports that FX would keep the dramatic content while the new network would focus on comedy (similar to the division between TNT and TBS) and inherit shows like Archer and It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia. The new channel would take over the Fox Soccer channel.
After quitting Who Wants to Be a Millionaire, Meredith Viera might be entering the daytime talk show scene.
