The first half of 2010 has officially come to an end and the report card shows that it has been one of the worse six months ever for the industry. With Raajneeti being the only superhit (still counting) and just two other clear hits (based or worldwide run) in My Name Is Khan and Housefull, stats speak loud and clear. Agreed that there have been other successful films like Badmaash Company, Ishqiya, Love Sex Aur Dhoka and Atithi Tum Kab Jaoge? but the profits accruing to the...

With four more releases to come this year - Once Upon A Time In Mumbai, Aakrosh, Toonpur Ka Superhero and Golmaal 3 - he.s clearly looking to experiment as much with genre as his look.Says Ajay, .Yes, I have different looks in all the releases this year, but it.s not something I had planned. But I am glad that my directors had faith in me and are willing to experiment. I.d earlier tried diverse looks in films like Qayamat and The Legend of Bhagat Singh because my role demanded it.I had entered the industry as an action hero and then did films such Zakham, Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam and Deewangi, which propagated this intense image. March 16, 2010:Devotional songs in Bollywood films have, off late, started becoming more and more popular, as the professional renditions of traditional songs give it that extra touch to make it extremely sweet on the ears. Numbers like ‘Ik Onkar’ from Rang de Basanti, ‘O Palanhare’ from Lagaan, are commonly heard at prayer meetings, temples, poojas at home, and even as ringtones and caller tunes of every third person. The latest song to join the club, is the upbeat number ‘Jyoti Jalaile’ from Warner Bros. Pictures and Wide Frame Films’ comedy movie ‘Atithi Tum Kab Jaoge?’ that closely resembles the hit song ‘Beedi Jalaile’ from Kumar Mangat’s previous blockbuster ‘Omkara’.

Being Ajay Devgan and Konkona Sen Sharma's guest, Paresh Rawal makes the first bonafide guest appearance in our cinema.
And what pest this guest is! With so many films about the guest as an intruder, this one takes the creak. And yes we do mean creak. The plot sets out portray the bin bulaye mehmaan as a pest rather than a guest and finally spends agonizing play time portraying him as a messiah in a dhoti.
Trust Paresh Rawal to get into the skin of his character. From first frame to the last, Paresh has a blast. He doesn't let go of a single moment of joy in embracing the role of the unwanted guest in Mumbai's very hectic self-absorbed nuclear family where, as Devgan says in his heated summing-up homily, even parents are not welcome after the first few days.
