Hard to believe we’re 50(!) episodes into Aew Dark: Elevation… You’d think Aew might make something of a song and dance about the milestone but no, instead we’re back to doing what Elevation does every week. Serviceable matches that let their wrestlers get some “developmental” time and showcase enhancement talent (usually to see if they can get over with the Aew crowd). Anyway, on with this weeks review.
Match #1: Dante Martin def. Kevin Matthews
My Thoughts: This was Dante Martin letting Kevin Matthews (aka Impact’s Wrestling’s Km) getting a chance to show off. Yes, we’re in Aew quasi0squash match territory. Martin eventually went on the offence and took control and took over with a flurry of dropkicks and splashes – getting the win in just under four minutes.
My Score: 2 out of 5 Match #2: Thunder Rosa def. Riley Shepard
My Thoughts: Unlike the usual...

The much-anticipated second-season debut of “The Witcher” landed at the top of Variety’s Trending TV chart for the week of Dec. 13 to Dec. 19. The Netflix series had been long delayed as a result of Covid, but eight fresh episodes finally dropped on Friday, to the joy of fantasy fans everywhere.
The fact that showrunner Lauren Schmidt answered fan questions on Twitter only helped bolster the conversation, helping viewers better understand the characters played by Henry Cavill, Freya Allan, Anya Chalotra and more.
So much to discuss, and yes, we'll do it here too! Let's have real conversations about what happened in S1, what developed in S2, and what's going to happen in the future. Bring your critique, your love, your mixed opinions, I accept them all!

The show debut itself, finale twist and subsequent questions that the storylines raised weren’t the only topics of conversation though.

The Grammys got a little more predictable this year — which was good, if you have a bookie, or if you’e a journalist who’s been sulking for years over your consistent failure rate in prognosticating these things. Much of it comes down to the nominating committees having been abolished this year after being gatekeepers for the last quarter-century. For better or worse, the new field was without the famous “committee picks” that used to shake things up… and squeeze out more obvious choices like the Weeknd and Ed Sheeran.
So thank God for Jon Batiste for coming in and making us turn off our snooze alarm as the nominations unfolded Tuesday morning that, unbeknownst to us all, he was actually the music phenomenon of 2020. As for the rest of our snubs and surprises, they weren’t always all that shocking, even if we were making predictions for BTS to...

TNT has ordered a new docuseries about Aew’s Cody and Brandi Rhodes, the network announced during “Aew Dynamite” on Wednesday.
The half-hour series, titled “Rhodes to the Top,” will “take viewers behind-the-scenes as the powerhouse couple manage their ever-busier lives inside and outside the ring, all the while surrounded by a colorful and often hilarious motley crew of wrestlers, family and friends who both support and test them at every turn,” according to TNT.
Married in 2013, Cody and Brandi revealed their pregnancy during an Aew appearance in December.
The new series expands the relationship between the Rhodes and TNT, which airs the two-hour “Aew Dynamite” every Wednesday. Cody currently serves as the league’s executive vice president, and Brandi, the first Black woman to hold an executive position in a pro wrestling company, is chief brand officer. Cody also serves as a judge on “Go-Big Show” at TNT sister network TBS.

BTS made their MTV Unplugged debut on Tuesday, where they performed from Seoul, South Korea. The septet — Rm, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook — delivered a five-song set that included live premieres of songs from 2020’s Be as well as a cover of a Coldplay hit alongside their own Number One hits.
They launched their set in a room where they played arcade games and sang Be track “Telepathy,” which marked the first time the band has performed the upbeat song live. “Blue & Grey” was another song they premiered live for the first time.

Incorporating a wide range of genres from hip-hop to alternative to pop, the Latin music categories at the Grammys shine due to the great selection of albums that the panel constantly chooses. After embracing the pulp-style narrative in their novel Grim Death and Bill the Electrocuted Criminal, Mike Mignola and Tom Sniegoski are reteaming to bring that same pulp-infused fun to the world of comic books with Young Hellboy: The Hidden Land. Featuring artwork by Craig Rousseau, the first issue of the four-part miniseries will be released on February 17th from Dark Horse Comics, and we caught up with co-writer Sniegoski in a new Q&a feature to discuss his latest collaboration with Mignola, including exploring Hellboy's formative years and instilling The Hidden Land with a pulpy 1930s atmosphere.
Thanks for taking the time to answer questions for us, Tom, and congratulations on Young Hellboy: The Hidden Land! This marks your latest collaboration with Mike Mignola, with whom you co-wrote Grim Death and Bill the Electrocuted Criminal. How did your writing reunion come about for this project?

Honoring a song’s writing, including lyrics and melodic composition, the Grammy for Song of the Year is one of the most coveted honors for songwriters in the music industry. This year there are eight nominees that could join an elite list that includes iconic winners like Adele’s “Rolling in the Deep”, Beyoncé’s “Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It)” and Simon and Garfunkel’s “Bridge Over Troubled Water,” to name just a few.

Natural Nightmares & Nick Comoroto def. Vary Morales & Jersey Muscle Society
Fresh off the announcement he’d joined the Nightmare Family Nick Comoroto got to take part in a Trios match with the Natural Nightmares and – unsurprisingly – stole the show. Comoroto is a beast of a man and he’s slowly but surely becoming one of the standout wrestlers. So much so I look forward to seeing what surprise show of strength (and skill) he pulls out of the hat each and every week. At this rate he’ll be taking on Aew’s main-venters, on Dynamite rather than Dark, in no time.
My Opinion: 3 out of 5

BTS made Grammy history in November when their song “Dynamite” got a nomination for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance. Not only were they the first K-pop act ever to receive a Grammy nom, but they also joined an elite group of boy bands that have managed to get Grammy recognition, something most 2010s boy bands like One Direction and 5 Seconds of Summer failed to do in recent years. With “Dynamite,” they joined Nsync, Backstreet Boys and Boyz II Men among the famous groups that have broken through.
“Dynamite’s” nomination wasn’t really a surprise. The song was an instant hit, spending multiple weeks atop the Billboard Hot 100, and BTS did an extensive campaign, including NPR’s “Tiny Desk Concert” series and a week-long residency at Jimmy Fallon’s “The Tonight Show.” Also, Pop Duo/Group Performance wasn’t very crowded this year, furthering their chances at this historic nom.

Get your ass up here! The Venus Fly-Trap that looks like a big d–k-head is wilting! Me: Yes sir! Gosh! I sure don’t want to piss off Mr. Kramp! He was in ‘Nam! He feasted on their ass-holes and wore their balls around his neck like a giant pearl necklace. I’m told that is a fine way look good on a Saturday night…if you know what I mean. There were a lot of surprises in the Grammy nominations for pop, just as there were across all categories at the often head-scratching awards this year. Justin Bieber, Dua Lipa and Taylor Swift cleaned up, while Post Malone and The Weeknd were unexpectedly shut out of this field. But now that we know who the recording academy liked enough to nominate, which songs will they love enough to give the wins to?
SEEWho will win Grammys R&b categories? Don’t assume Beyonce is a lock
Best Pop Solo Performance
There’s a lot to unpack in this category. It has six nominees, which means two of these songs tied in the nominations voting. Not only that, but all of these are top-10 hits on the Billboard Hot 100, and all of these artists have nominations in other categories, indicating significant overall support from voters.
That said, we can probably cross...

Seoul, Jan 24 (Ians) The music video for "Dynamite," the historic BTS song that topped the Billboard's main singles chart last year, has earned 800 million YouTube views, the band's agency said on Sunday.
YouTube views for "Dynamite" hit 800 million views on Sunday, becoming the septet's sixth music video to reach the milestone, according to Big Hit Entertainment.
The feat came just a month after it earned 700 million views, it added.
"Dynamite," an upbeat disco-pop track that was sung in English, has rewritten history in many ways. It earned the seven-piece band its first career No. 1 on the Billboard's main singles chart and stayed there for months.
The septet also received its first Grammy nomination in the Best Pop Duo/Group Performance category with "Dynamite." The awards ceremony is slated for March 14 (US time).

Los Angeles, Nov 25 (Ians) The 2021 Grammy Awards nominations are all about women power with Beyonce, Taylor Swift and Dua Lipa leading the way.
Beyonce is leading the contender at the 2021 Grammy Awards with nine nods. She is followed by Taylor Swift, Roddy Ricch and Dua Lipa, who earned six nominations each.
Brittany Howard, of Alabama Shakes fame, earned five nominations for her solo debut. Earning four each were Billie Eilish, Megan Thee Stallion, DaBaby, Phoebe Bridgers, Justin Bieber, jazz pianist John Beasley and classical producer David Frost, reports Variety.
As a shocker, The Weeknd didn't get nominated. Despite being predicted to dominate the nominations at the 63rd annual Grammys, the pop-r&b superstar's "Blinding lights" single and "After Hours" album got zero nominations.

After BTS scored a long-awaited Number One single in the US with the glittery disco-pop cut “Dynamite,” you might expect the Korean group to keep the party going and double down on their chart-topping formula. But instead of an album decked with dancefloor stompers, the septet use their latest release Be to offer something more intimate, comforting and honest, but no less uplifting.

It's 2020, so it seems appropriate that when the Grammy nominations for 2021 were announced on Nov. 24, they were a hot mess. Grammy Nominations Led by Beyoncé’s Nine, With Six Apiece for Taylor Swift, Roddy Ricch and Dua Lipa
Beyoncé leads the contenders for the 2021 Grammy Awards with nine — an unexpectedly high profile, given that the superstar didn’t even release a new album during the eligibility period. Her wealth of nods is followed by six apiece for Taylor Swift, Roddy Ricch and Dua Lipa.
Brittany Howard, of Alabama Shakes fame, was close behind that grouping with five nominations for her solo debut. Earning four each were returning Grammy queen Billie Eilish, Megan Thee Stallion, DaBaby, Phoebe Bridgers, Justin Bieber, jazz pianist John Beasley and classical producer David Frost.
