Jack Antonoff has almost single-handedly made modern pop into a glorious safe space, an expansive, sensitive, creative biosphere where the biggest artists in the world — from Taylor to Lana to Lorde — can chase their wildest ambitions and find their most real inner selves while still making blockbuster records. Most A-list superproducers are pop scientists. Antonoff is a pop humanist.

Jack Antonoff swung by Late Night With Seth Meyers Thursday to perform a new Bleachers song and chat about making classics and hits with Taylor Swift and Lana Del Rey.
For their performance, Bleachers performed “Alma Mater,” the recently-released single that moves between a hazy, torrid dreamscape and a noir-ish surge of late-night sax glory. Del Rey, unfortunately, was not on hand to provide backing vocals (as she does on the studio recording), but Antonoff did have a sample machine loaded up with some of her best lines to help make her presence known.

Bleachers are back with “Modern Girl,” their first new music since 2021’s Take the Sadness Out of Saturday Night.
In the wide canon of songs about modern life, Jack Antonoff and company sound more cheery than wistful, more David Bowie’s “Modern Love” than, say, Sleater-Kinney’s “Modern Girl.” With raucous saxophones and a scream, the singer/super producer kicks off a party jam about going out and shaking ass. The band has an equally fun time performing the track in its music video, directed by Alex Lockett.
“Modern Girl” brings Antonoff back to his own band after another couple of years of dominating pop music as a producer. Last year, for example, he lent a hand to Taylor Swift’s Midnights, The 1975’s Being Funny in a Foreign Language, and Lana Del Rey’s Did You Know That There’s a Tunnel Under Ocean Blvd. Bleachers even appeared on...

Rumors of a collaboration between Tame Impala and Diana Ross swirled for months before the Jack Antonoff-produced track was released as the lead single to his soundtrack to Minions: The Rise of Gru and now the video has arrived. “Turn Up the Sunshine” brought the Australian multi-instrumentalist and the pop superstar together in the studio, but the accompanying music video features a host of minions standing in for the pair.
The animated visual pulls from groovy Seventies aesthetics while the famed yellow characters dance around in tracksuits, overalls, and disco gear with hypnotizing flare.

Netflix has us in a holiday mood with the new trailer for Let It Snow! The trailer features a pretty great soundtrack over clips of the teen ensemble rom-com, set in a small town that's been snowed in on Christmas Eve. If the song in the trailer caught your attention but you can't quite place it, never fear: we've got answers.
The song featured in the trailer is "Don't Take the Money" by Bleachers. The song was released in 2017 as part of their album, Gone Now. It was cowritten by Jack Antonoff and Lorde. This isn't the first time Bleachers's music has been used in a contemporary teen rom-com: Antonoff was the producer for the soundtrack of Love, Simon, and Bleachers had four songs featured on that soundtrack (along with one credited to Antonoff under his real name).
Let It Snow hits Netflix on Nov. 8, just ahead of the holiday season!
