Hard to believe, but December is nearly upon us, and that means we have a brand new batch of Digital and VOD releases to look forward to over the next few weeks. And for those of you looking to indulge in some non-holiday cinematic delights next month, there seems to be quite a variety of films hitting VOD and other digital platforms to keep you cozy inside your home, away from the brutality of winter and its harsh elements.
December’s releases kick off on the 1st with Somebody’s Darling, and December 5th is one of the busiest days of the month with six different titles making their digital bow: The Gatehouse, The Doll Master, Apocalypse Road, Flashburn, K-shop, and The White King. Then, just a few days later, IFC Midnight is releasing the psychological thriller Kaleidoscope, and on December 12th, both The Cutlass and Flatliners (2017) come home.

A simple poll for you: pick one of these five films and choose your favourite. Not the best. Your favourite...
The Goonies? Gremlins? Empire Of The Sun? True Romance? Goodfellas?
Five smashing films. Five smashing ways to spend an afternoon in front of the telly. But, chums! Which of those would you pick if you had to choose just one?
We’re not after what you think is the best of the five. We’re after your favourite! The poll should magically appear on the right of the screen, and we’d be hugely obliged if you cast you vote.
As always, many thanks for your time. May your film viewing be strong, and have some quiet, non-rustly virtual popcorn on us!

Since any New York City cinephile has a nearly suffocating wealth of theatrical options, we figured it’d be best to compile some of the more worthwhile repertory showings into one handy list. Displayed below are a few of the city’s most reliable theaters and links to screenings of their weekend offerings — films you’re not likely to see in a theater again anytime soon, and many of which are, also, on 35mm. If you have a chance to attend any of these, we’re of the mind that it’s time extremely well-spent.

Anticipation for 2017’s major festivals is at an all time high, with Coachella‘s lineup serving as the holy grail of the entire season. We’ve already heard some rumors about the alleged headliners, while DJ Khaled inadvertently spilled the beans on his slot at the festival. Now we have another enticing update to ponder with a list that attempts to predict the entire lineup.
A website called TravelGrom has consistently made predictions about Coachella lineups in the past with a high degree of accuracy compared to the average rumor, and they’ve just offered up their projections for 2017. While the information is just conjecture at this point, TravelGrom predicted last year’s lineup with 64% accuracy. If that figure holds true again, over half of the list will wind up on the official lineup.
The alleged lineup includes a diverse array of styles, with representation from Edm, Rock, Rap, Pop and everything in between.

Jesus, was it really twenty years ago when we first laughed ourselves stupid with "Dumb & Dumber"? Geez, time flies, but we'll totally stand up for that Farrelly Brothers comedy, a genuine, shameless dose of absolutely low brow humor that's still kind of amazing, mostly thanks to Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels who go full stupid with hilarious abandon. But will it be as funny two decades later, when we're older and wiser? Get set to find out as the first trailer for "Dumb And Dumber To" (get it? they can't spell!) has arrived. It's another road trip story, this time with Harry and Lloyd traveling together so Harry can find his illegitimate daughter for a kidney transplant. But really, we presume this is an excuse for the pair to get into all kinds of trouble. But with a soundtrack by Empire Of The Sun, and with script passing through multiple...
