The original Sin Cara would hurt his finger and want to stop a match but Jorge Arias who now portrays the masked Lucha Dragon refused to give up last night during his Raw match with Big E in Barclays Center, even after suffering a dislocated shoulder injury.
After Kalisto got a win over Kofi Kingston in front of a sell-out crowd in Brooklyn last night, Xavier Woods challenged Sin Cara to a match which of course, once the challenge was accepted, Woods would bail and send in Big E as the opponent for the match up.
The action was exciting and the New York crowd were into both stars when Cara was pulled from the ring apron to the floor immediately dislocating his shoulder. The star persevered and even went on to perform a dive from the top which can’t have helped his injury.

Alberto Del Rio could feature for Aaa this weekend on their TripleMania show, according to a tweet by Aaa announcer Arturo Rivera. Wrestling Observer Radio backs this story up, commenting that Del Rio will apparently be at the TripleMania show. However, what isn’t known is if Del Rio will be working the show or merely attending backstage. If Del Rio does appear on the event, he will be going into direct competition with WWE who air SummerSlam on the same night. That’ll be bad news for WWE’s business in Mexico, where the Del Rio / Aaa development has already garnered mainstream coverage.
The issue of a possible 90 day no-compete clause remains a factor here. Aaa in the past have respected WWE’s contractual agreements. They brought Sin Cara in for example, but never used him on television until his WWE compete clause expired. You’ve got...

Ricardo Rodriguez’s abrupt release was initially seen as nothing more than a basic budget cut during a tough time for the WWE. New details have emerged to what led to the situation, and budget cuts don’t seem to be the primary situation.
Rodriguez asked the company for his release because he had grown frustrated due to not being used as a wrestler. Even though he’d been used on some WWE TV as the masked El Local, he was replaced by Sin Cara due to an injury.
According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, it also appears as if there was an issue regarding Rodriguez’s weight. The WWE set a weight goal for him, and he was having issues achieving and maintaining it. This may have prevented Ricardo from moving up the ladder in the WWE.
Even though his contract expired in just two weeks, Rodriguez still wanted out.

WWE.com have announced the shock release of former WWE Champion Alberto Del Rio.
The website listed “unprofessional conduct, and an altercation with an employee” as the reasons for Del Rio’s release. They did not include the traditional “wish him well in his future endeavors” line.
The firing of Del Rio comes after the star had largely been removed from the WWE main event scene after being in the World Title mix for the duration of his WWE run.
According to Rob Feinstein of Rf Video, Del Rio slapped a member of WWE’s social media team, although that should be treated purely as a rumour at this stage.
Months ago it was rumoured that Del Rio planned on quitting WWE when his contract expired this year. During his WWE run, Del Rio was a two-time WWE champion, a two-time World Heavyweight champion, and a Royal Rumble winner.

After years of working as a lower-card comedy act as a member of 3Mb, it appears as if Heath Slater is getting a push– to mid-card comedy act.
Following the release of 3Mb teammates Jinder Mahal and Drew McIntyre, Slater seemed to be left without a direction and was getting the majority of his WWE screen time as a part of the “Jbl & Cole Show” on Youtube.
At WWE Battleground, Slater participated in the Intercontinental Title battle royal, where he shocked fans by eliminating Cesaro, who was a favorite by many to actually win the match. Slater’s good fortunes continued when he was paired with former Prime Time Player Titus O’Neil in a tag team in which Slater called “Slater Gator,” referring to O’Neil’s Florida ties.

The road to SummerSlam continued on Tuesday night, with a stop in Laredo, Texas for Friday’s Smackdown taping. The following spoilers include results from the show, in addition to the big angles that played out.
Dean Ambrose opened the show, but before he could really say much, Seth Rollins interrupted. This resulted in some verbal sparring, ultimately leading to Ambrose revealing the stipulation for their SummerSlam match. As you’ll remember from Raw, Ambrose won the right to pick the stipulation after triumphing in a beat the clock challenge.
Ambrose announced that at SummerSlam, it will be a lumberjack match. That’s hardly what the fans wanted to hear, it’s a tired gimmick that effectively cheapens Ambrose vs Rollins. These are two of the best in ring workers on the roster, they should have been contesting a serious style contest. Presumably WWE took this direction merely...

As everybody in 2014 should know, professional wrestling is a scripted and choreographed slice of entertainment mimicking the appearance of a genuine sporting contest. The exact extent of the scripting and choreography that’s required in advance depends on both the participants and the people running the match.
For example, in today’s WWE almost every interview, promo and match is written and planned in advance, while many indie promotions take pride in their roster being able to execute promos and flawless matches on the fly, as was usual in the days before WWE’s dominance of the industry.
Regardless of the amount of planning involved, when someone makes a mistake, it’s usually painfully obvious… sometimes literally so, when the error occurs in the execution of a move that needs to be performed in a certain way to be safe.

The highly anticipated WWE 2K15 roster has allegedly leaked online. The big news is that Cm Punk is in the game, alongside a range of Nxt stars. There’s 92 wrestlers in total, including Mick Foley who had been in doubt after not signing a WWE legends deal earlier this year.
The leak surfaced on GameFAQs, where it was claimed that the list came from the August edition of Game Informer Magazine. The post has since been removed.
The official roster reveal will be on August 16th in Los Angeles. 2K will be working in partnership with WWE’s SummerSlam event which takes place on the same weekend. That timing ensures maximum publicity for the video game’s content.
Is there any validity to this apparent leak ahead of time? The list certainly looks plausible. Punk’s contract may have expired, but he would have been under a deal when production of the game started.

It’s no secret that The Rock is willing to get back inside the WWE ring if the opponent and the payday add up to the right situation for everyone, but that means he won’t just return for anyone. It has to be someone who is not only deserving of a top-level feud against The Rock, but someone who makes a reasonable opponent through good storytelling.
WWE management would be forgiven for bringing The Rock back for just about any reason, but the better the opponent, the better the resulting feud. After all, it wouldn’t make much sense for The Rock to return to feud with Bo Dallas or Sin Cara because the feud would be pointless and fans would be wondering why Rocky was wrestling someone below his level. Whoever faces The Rock has to be a legitimate star with major heat or support from the crowd.

After months of speculation top Japanese star Kenta Kobayashi, aka Kenta, finally agreed to sign with World Wrestling Entertainment. On July 12th in front of a hot Osaka crowd the man some call ‘The Black Sun’ joined Hulk Hogan and ‘Mouth of the South’ Jimmy Hart in the centre of the ring to officially sign a long term deal that will see him join the ranks of America’s top wrestling promotion.
Ever since then speculation has been running high as to how the WWE will utilise him. If you’re new to this game then you may not understand the way Vince McMahon likes to work and how he couldn’t care less if someone is a huge star in another organisation. If he didn’t make you a star then you sure aren’t going to be presented like one – with only the occasional exception. There...

WWE Battleground is smack in the middle of Money in the Bank and SummerSlam — right between two of the biggest shows of the year. Because of that, this will be a throwaway event with little change or much excitement. Storylines will be built here and a clearer picture of SummerSlam will be made by the end of the night. Here are predictions of what should be happening at this less-than-stellar, but purposeful WWE event.
Pre-Show Match Cameron vs. Naomi
Naomi proved to me that she can have a great divas match at Money in the Bank 2014 and I look forward to seeing more of her. This is a grudge that I suppose we’re supposed to care about because of the history of these two as Funkadactyls, but I mainly just want to see Naomi win and move on to bigger things. Plus, I’m sure Jimmy Uso has taught...

Triple H is the on screen Chief Operating Officer of WWE. He’s not the real COO of the company, but there are probably some fans that think he really is. He has many roles in the company. Basically he’s the second man in charge after Vince McMahon and along with his wife Stephanie McMahon-Levesque is going to be running things whenever Vince decides to retire if he ever does decide to step down.
Here is the WWE Corporate profile of Paul Levesque (Triple H) with an explanation of his job duties: “Paul Levesque is the Executive Vice President, Talent, Live Events & Creative. In this role, he oversees the talent relations and talent development departments, training of WWE Superstars and Divas and management of worldwide recruitment and live global events. In addition to his talent and live event duties, Levesque has continually had an integral role behind-the-scenes.

The WWE main roster is always changing, some wrestlers leave for whatever reason happens to cause their departure, some wrestlers move up the card because management wants to give them a push and some wrestlers move downwards, or stay still, sometimes merely because the creative team has a lack of ideas for their television character.
The last twelve months have been memorable and a lot has happened to the main WWE roster since June of 2013. So, let’s take a look at the main superstars who are on the main stage of WWE, rate them, and look at how their future in WWE looks at this moment.
The grading system is as follows:
A+ – Is/Should be one of the main faces of WWE. A true star.
A – Should be/Is in the main event scene and has the talent to stay there.
B – Should be being pushed as a future top contender.

As far as the wrestling business goes, you pretty much have to be the best of the best of the best in world to get to the WWE. The criteria for a WWE Superstar is pretty strict and Vince’s employees are expected to perform lest they perish in the cleansing fire of being future endeavoured. Occasionally though, some buck the trend. Some continue to survive and persevere in spite of either their own in-ring ineptitude (by WWE standards of course) or their appalling behavior backstage.

On June 29th, WWE will hold its annual Money in the Bank pay-per-view, headlined by a multi-superstar ladder match. However, this year will not be like all other years. After Daniel Bryan’s neck injury, the ladder match will not be for the Money in the Bank briefcase, but instead for the vacated WWE World Heavyweight Championship.
As of June 10th, there are four WWE Superstars already qualified for the main event ladder match – Randy Orton, Alberto Del Rio, Sheamus and Cesaro. Based on the image seen on television, there seems to be three more spots available for WWE Superstars to claim and have a chance at the WWE World Heavyweight title.
Who should have the honor and privilege of joining Orton, Del Rio, Sheamus and Cesaro in the ladder match?
You can eliminate Dolph Ziggler, Bad News Barrett and Rob Van Dam since they lost qualifying matches.

The WWE Network has, at this point, featured two WWE PPV’s and, with this event, two Nxt Special Events. The second two-hour Nxt Special, titled Takeover will feature matches that feature a selection of Nxt.
The show opens with the first match of the night, Adam Rose, along with his posse of party people, entering the Nxt arena for a match against Camacho. The fans are on Rose’s side throughout the match and they react to him and his offence. Camacho looks to be in great shape but it never appears that he has a chance of winning against Rose, who has recently made his debut on the main WWE roster. The match, not particularly a long one, ends when Rose hits his finisher and pins the Samoan youngster before leaving with his party-timers.
Result: Rose wins.

Despite prodding, pleading and probing, WWE investors can’t get the company to divulge any new particulars on their plans or progress. It’s been a rough week to be WWE CEO – Vince’s personal holdings of WWE stock lost hundreds of million in value overnight. Regardless of how they may have tried to spin it, Vince McMahon admitted (during Monday’s Conference Call) that launching the WWE Network in February 2014 hurt WWE’s standing during the domestic television rights negotiations.
In the end, out of the four major deals being discussed (UK, India, Thailand and the Us) the total increase in TV Rights was estimated at $92M. When you back out the amount the company has targeted for the international deals, that only leaves about $50M for the Raw & Smackdown rights. What a crazy week we had in professional wrestling. We’ve got new Intercontinental and United States champions, witnessed the evening gown match make its triumphant return, and saw Kane go through a table of flames. It’s just too bad that the men who put the fire out didn’t do so five seconds earlier when the table was first set on fire. That seems like it would have been safer for everyone involved. Perhaps like Sheamus, they fell asleep on the job too.
We also saw the debut of Adam Rose on Raw, Kalisto impress in Nxt, and sadly we must soon prepare to say goodbye to Batista for his summer vacation. A lot went on these past seven days with Extreme Rules underwhelming fans, Sheamus and Sin Cara getting into a fight backstage (at least I hope it’s true, and that Sin Cara was in full ring gear…...

Sheamus and Sin Cara may have got into a real backstage altercation, reports the Wrestling Observer. The fight happened at this week’s TV tapings in New York. The only other details to be confirmed are that Cara got the better of Sheamus.
The Irishman has since responded on Twitter;
“Must be getting punchy. Don’t remember being beaten up by Sin Cara backstage… It’s just how Mexicans & we Irishmen hug it out fella ;)”
That quote doesn’t actually deny something went on between the two men. It seems as if Sheamus wants to brush off the incident, he denies that Cara beat him up, but doesn’t deny that an exchange took place. Perhaps he is bit embarrassed about being overcome by a much smaller man. Cara is currently portrayed by the former Hunico (real name Jorge Arias), weighing in at 180 pounds with a height of 5 feet 7 inches.

A lot of people have been talking about Benjamin Morris’ 538 piece, “Are Pro Wrestlers Dying at an Unusual Rate?”
Like Morris, I am neither an actuarial scientist nor a demographer. So, our interpretations of the data should be taken with a grain of salt. My results were somewhat different from Morris’ due to a difference data set and changes in how we calculated actuarial predictions.
Differences in methodology from Morris
I also used Social Security Actuarial Life Tables, but my “expected mortality rates” for the age groups were not the same as Morris’. For each wrestler, I calculated what their age would have been as of today. Then, based on gender, I looked up the number of lives (out of 100,000) that were expected to still be alive and converted that to a percentage. His analysis looked at wrestlers who were on 20+ WWF PPVs through 2002. I went with a...

We are on our way to Extreme Rules, the annual WWE show where feuds are heated up, often with anything goes stipulations added to the matches. The post-WrestleMania content that WWE produces is important and sets the tone for the rest of the year before the “Road to WrestleMania” begins again.
We are live from Baltimore, Maryland tonight, and with feuds such as Bryan/Kane, Evolution/Shield and the Intercontinental Title Contender Tournament to keep our eyes on, it should be an interesting night. My thoughts go to Daniel Bryan also, who lost his father this past week. After experiencing such professional and personal highs in the past fortnight, with his winning of the WWE World Title at ‘Mania, and his marriage to Brie Bella, this must have been a huge blow. Bryan still worked this Raw, which is testament to his respect for the fans, who I’m sure...

Vince McMahon is a certified marketing genius. Always keen to find a new way to reach a new audience, he tied pro wrestling to rock and roll, and in doing so, made it a part of popular culture to a level it hadn’t been since the early days of television. His knack for cross-promotion has struck gold again, with a crossover between the WWE Superstars and the animated adventures of the Great Dane Detective and the Mystery Inc gang in their newest direct to video movie, Scooby Doo WrestleMania Mystery, out just in time to help promote WrestleMania XXX, coming to your screens this Sunday, April 6.

Last night’s edition of Raw was the second last episode of WWE’s flagship show prior to WrestleMania 30 on April 6 in New Orleans. It was held in Brooklyn, New York in front of a boisterous crowd that reacted well to most of the action. There were times when they veered off in another direction with “Cm Punk” chants, but for the most part they cared about what they saw in the ring even without Daniel Bryan in action.
For weeks we’ve been updating you with the lineup for WrestleMania. Several matches were made official following Elimination Chamber while others have slowly taken shape based on recent actions from Raw and Smackdown. Here’s a look at the eight matches that are expected to be a part of the full WrestleMania card.

We are less than two weeks away from WrestleMania 30 and so the television shows that WWE promotes between now and then are the most important “go-home” shows of the year for the company. The final “big sell” before the big show itself. Tonight, Raw is live from Brooklyn, New York.
In the next two episodes of Raw, including this one, we should know, without a doubt, the full card for WrestleMania, and have an idea of what the biggest show of the year has in store for us. Tonight, celebrities will be a part of Raw, as Arnold Schwarzenegger, Joe Manganiello and Scooby Doo make appearences, as well as Hulk Hogan, Brock Lesnar and The Undertaker promoted to appear. Should be an interesting show.
The match results;
Christian beat Dolph Ziggler, Alberto Del Rio & Sheamus in a fatal-four-way match Sin Cara quickly defeated Damien Sandow Los Matadores beat Ryback & Curtis Axel...

Previously on: The big advancement toward "Wrestlemania" was the masterful attack of Daniel Bryan by Triple H. It was truly one of the best moments of buildup for the big show we've seen yet. There wasn't a ton else to note last week. The Shield are babyfaces now, though. So it looks like their breakup is on the backburner. It's probably a good idea, that unit is just to good to separate.
The big news: After now appearing on "WWE Raw" last week, The Undertaker was in the house. It was the first time this year he brought out the old druid and coffin gimmick the character is known for. It all followed Heyman and Lesnar in the ring, talking about how Undertaker's days were numbered.
Unfortunately, Taker did exactly what he's already done: Beat down Lesnar. Everyone knows Brock is going to lose at "Wrestlemania," but WWE needs...

The latest issue of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter has released some interesting info as it relates to the top merchandise sellers in WWE these days. While it’s no surprise that John Cena is still leading the company in that regard, others have moved up the rankings and some have really fallen off too.
The top merchandise sellers at live events are, in order, John Cena, Daniel Bryan, Cm Punk, Batista, Sheamus, Hulk Hogan, Randy Orton and Brock Lesnar.
Cm Punk has typically been the #2 merchandise seller for several years, but his absence has obviously knocked him down. That will likely continue as long as he continues to keep his distance from WWE. Plus, with Daniel Bryan having a bigger role on WWE TV these days he’s likely to stay firmly in that position. It also probably helped that there were dozens of fans in...

This past Monday’s edition of Raw saw Hulk Hogan announce the Andre the Giant memorable battle royal that will see 30 men compete to win a trophy that has Andre’s image on it. Currently on WWE.com it lists Ryback, Big E and Curtis Axel as the first three competitors in the match. Two more superstars have been added to the match in the last couple of days.
At Tuesday’s Smackdown tapings, Dolph Ziggler entered himself into the battle royal also. He’s somebody that has a lot of talent, but has no current direction and his TV time has been very inconsistent in the past several months. Perhaps a good showing in the battle royal could be the spark that Ziggler needs to become a top guy again. It would be a welcome sight to...

Welcome to this week’s Raw write-up.
Tonight’s show opens with John Cena’s music playing and him making his way to the ring to his usual reaction, the kids cheer, the rest of the fans boo. We see a replay of Cena pinning Orton in the main event of last week’s Raw. Cena poses for the fans before speaking. He talks about the upcoming Elimination Chamber PPV next Sunday. It’s the usual “shout and whisper” Cena promo to which most fans scold with boo’s. Cena says that he has headlined WrestleMania many times and plans to headline, against Batista, again this year. He insults Randy Orton but gets booed for it. Cena mentions Bryan, and the fans chant yet. I guess he has to get a pop somehow. Cena predicts that there will be a new WWE World Champion after the Elimination Chamber match on Sunday.

The big news: Cena and Cesaro had a fantastic wrestling match. That's the biggest and best news out of "WWE Raw." It made them both look like major players, the crowd was into it and though Cesaro lost, he looked very strong in defeat.
After no match last week, Bryan pulled double duty on "Raw." First he earned a victory over Christian, who seemingly turned heel. Then Kane booked himself against Bryan and tore him apart, getting disqualified. The story was The Authority sent him to make sure Bryan wasn't a factor in the "Elimination Chamber" match. Both Kane and Christian focused on injuring Bryan's shoulder, so expect that to come into play.

I’m not really a fan of the WWE Superstar Collection releases, but to be fair I guess it’s the choice of matches that are important. The collection picks a superstar and then gives a series of matches from their history that feature them. With the WWE Superstar Collection: Daniel Bryan release for the most part this could be one of the better releases because the matches selected are more wisely picked than the others I’ve seen.
As we know with Daniel Bryan he started off in Nxt and we see this with the first two matches in the form of Bryan vs. Chris Jericho. This was one of the matches that got him noticed in the WWE and started his rivalry with The Miz, with the storyline that Bryan believed he was better than him. The highly important WWE merchandise sales are still dominated by John Cena.
The Wrestling Observer Newsletter states that Cena remains head and shoulders above the rest of the WWE roster in overall product sales, which is one of the key areas for WWE business. Intriguingly the second top merchandise performer is none other than the recently quit Cm Punk. The Straight Edge Superstar is a clear cut number two seller, but when it comes to the WWE online shop, Punk is actually the number 1 star.
The reason for Cena being number 1 overall is probably because merchandise prices at arenas are higher, with more kids attending shows with their parents. As such, Cena does well in those sales, with Punk enjoying better success online where older fans perhaps prefer to shop. Daniel Bryan is the fourth best merchandise performer, with the popular star perhaps set to replace...

Have you ever watched a TV show where there’s a character that receives a lot of hype, but doesn’t live up to it and ends up being killed off? It happens all the time. It even happens in the pro wrestling business…at least if character your name is Sin Cara.
The original Sin Cara was portrayed by a guy named Luis Alvirde, who became a top star wrestling in Mexico as Sin Cara. As most fans know, his career in WWE didn’t go very well. Not only did he botch moves far too often for somebody at the WWE level, but he became injury prone too. As a result, things just didn’t work out for him and as of January 2014 he was no longer a WWE employee.
With Luis out of the picture, they moved the former Hunico back into the Sin Cara role for the past couple of months.

Welcome to the Raw following Royal Rumble 2014, the most controversial WWE PPV in many a moon. There are many open questions heading into tonights Raw, and hopefully some of them will be answered in the three hour episode of WWE’s flagship program.
Will the WWE fans continue to voice their vehement support for Daniel Bryan tonight? Will we see new matches made for the upcoming Elimination Chamber and WrestleMania XXX shows? What will happen when the Royal Rumble winner, Batista, steps in front of a crowd after the negative response he received last night on pay per view? Let’s see, shall we?
The show opens with a video package highlighting some of the happenings from last nights Royal Rumble show.
Triple H and Stephanie McMahon walk to the ring, hugging and embracing with smiles on their faces. Stephanie welcomes everyone to Monday Night Raw and seems to be heeling it up.

One night after the 2014 "Royal Rumble" and it looks like this will be an interesting episode of "WWE Raw." Not for the reasons WWE had hoped, though. When the show went off the air with Batista winning the 30-man match, destined for the "Wrestlemania XXX" main event, the audience booed loudly.
Something special and unique to professional wrestling happened during the show, and has been building to this point for months. The crowd wanted to see Daniel Bryan enter the match and win. After losing early in the show, they had convinced themselves he would end the night on top of the world.
That didn't happen though, which angered the fans. Even WWE Hall of Famer Mick Foley registered his unhappiness with the outcome.
Now WWE have an interesting conundrum on their hands. Batista's return to the company has been their biggest announcement of the year and something they need to see through.

The annual Royal Rumble match, held in January, is one of the highlights of the wrestling year, as thirty men from an assortment of different spots on the card enter the ring and participate in an hour of relentless and unpredictable action until just one man is left standing, receiving a title match at Wrestlemania for his troubles.
The brainchild of Pat Patterson, the match was first held in 1988, where just twenty men competed and ‘Hacksaw’ Jim Duggan emerged victorious. Twenty six years later, the match dawns upon us once again.
Though the current roster has an abundance of talent, this has not always been the case, and in years gone by the WWE has had to scrape the very bottom of the barrel on occasion (who can forget the appearances of Squat Team Member #1 and Squat Team Member #2 in 1996!) to fill the Rumble match with thirty participants. It's a very special episode of "WWE Raw," as WWE turns back the clock to take things old school. That means a retro arena design, an old ring and several returning legends to delight the fans.
Scheduled to appear on the show are "The Million Dollar Man" Ted Dibiase, Bob Backlund, Roddy Piper, Ric Flair, The New Age Outlaws, IRS, Ron Simmons, Scotty 2 Hotty and Diamond Dallas Page. Of course, WWE always trots out quite a few surprises on these special episodes as well, so there's no telling what they have in store.
There's also the ongoing story lines, leading up to the "Royal Rumble." Daniel Bryan will debut as part of the Wyatt Family, Brock Lesnar is back, Cm Punk continues to make The Shield look like fools, and John Cena and Randy Orton return after missing last week's show.
