Universal is developing a new anthology TV series that will focus on season-long mysteries told in "Hitchcock's classic style"...
Anthology TV series are all the rage these days, and now we have another exciting project to add to the trend: an Alfred Hitchcock-inspired TV show. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Universal Cable Productions has made a deal with the Alfred Hitchcock Estate to develop an anthology series called Welcome To Hitchcock.
Welcome To Hitchcock will adapt some of Hitchcock's most celebrated works — including The Birds and Psycho (you have been warned, Bates Motel) — as well as stories from Alfred Hitchcock Presents...
Unlike Alfred Hitchcock Presents..., Welcome To Hitchcock will not have standalone episodes, but rather unfurl the story of a single mystery or crime over the course of an entire season. How that makes it the 'anthology' series it's being billed as is as yet unclear,...

Directors Guild President Paris Barclay has announced the TV, documentary and commercial nominees for this year's DGA Awards. “The spectrum of directorial excellence across today's nine television and documentary categories is revelatory for the breadth and depth in what each of these women and men have directed – from 30-second commercials to multi-hour miniseries,” said Barclay in a statement. “As fellow filmmakers, we’re inspired by the quality, imagination and creativity demonstrated by these impressive nominees; as audience members, we’re incredibly fortunate to enjoy the fruits of their labors. Our congratulations to all of the nominees.” First-time nominees include Jodie Foster ("House of Cards," "Orange is the New Black"), Cary Fukunaga ("True Detective"), Mike Judge ("Silicon Valley"), Lisa Cholodenko ("Olive Kitteridge"), Michael Wilson ("The Trip to Bountiful") and Jill Soloway ("Transparent"). Winners will be announced Saturday, February 7, 2015 at the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza in Los Angeles at a ceremony hosted by Jane Lynch.

Evan Rachel Wood, Director George Clooney and Ryan Gosling on the set of Ides Of March.
Check out the new poster, stills and trailer for Columbia Pictures’ political thriller Ides Of March. Clooney’s film will be playing opening night at the Venice Film Festival.
Gosling’s performance and accent are such a throwback to a younger Sean Penn from At Close Range, Casualties Of War…even a little of The Falcon And The Snowman. Clooney’s become a natural with this sort of fair. Once again he’s collaborated on the screenplay with Grant Heslov (Good Night And Good Luck). I’ll be eager to see what type of reaction it sees at the Toronto Film Festival in September – will it be enough to gain some Awards season traction?
