This shouldn’t be a big surprise, but it will be a welcome one: Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F has officially been given an R-rating for “language throughout, violence and brief drug use.” Each of the previous three movies in the Beverly Hills Cop franchise was also released with an R-rating, so, as I said, no big surprise.
Nearly thirty years after the last movie’s release, Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F will find Detective Axel Foley (Eddie Murphy) back on the beat in Beverly Hills. The official synopsis reads: “After his daughter’s life is threatened, she (Taylour Paige) and Foley team up with a new partner (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) and old pals Billy Rosewood (Judge Reinhold) and John Taggart (John Ashton) to turn up the heat and uncover a conspiracy.” Mark Molloy directed the Beverly Hills Cop sequel from a screenplay by Will Beall and Tom Gormican & Kevin Etten.

At long last, Eddie Murphy is reprising his role as street-smart cop Axel Foley in the fourth instalment of the Beverly Hills Cop franchise, which is set to hit Netflix this summer. But, it isn’t easy being a middle aged action star. It’s been nearly thirty years since we last saw Eddie Murphy as Axel Foley, and in a recent interview with People Magazine he admitted that the shoot was a “rough one”.“I did Axel Foley when I was in my 20s. I am not in my 20s anymore,” he said. At any rate, Murphy won’t be the only aged actor from the original to show up, with many of the classic Beverly Hills Cop cast members are set to join him in Beverly Hills Cop: Axel Foley. Here’s everything we know about Beverly Hills Cop 4!

If you’re a long-term Eddie Murphy fan, chances are there’s no character of his that you love more than Axel Foley. And this summer, we’ll see Murphy reprising the role in the long-awaited fourth outing, 30 years after the (not-so-beloved) Beverly Hills Cop 3. While the specific release details were being kept under wraps by Netflix, where the film will find its home, they’ve since unveiled an official arrival date for you to mark in your diary.

Two Saturday Night Live legends, Pete Davidson and Eddie Murphy, are joining forces for The Pickup, an upcoming comedy directed by Tim Story. The project hails from Amazon MGM Studios, with plot details remaining a mystery. Smoke on the street says The Pickup is a heist comedy with a script by Matt Mider and Kevin Burrows.
In addition to his directorial duties, Story produces through his The Story Company banner, with Davis Entertainment’s John Davis and John Fox, and Murphy and Charisse Hewitt-Webster via Eddie Murphy Productions. The Story Company’s Vicky Mara Story, Davis Entertainment’s Jeremy Stein, and Kevin Burrows, Ross Fanger, and Matt Mider executive produce.
When he’s not the subject of paparazzi fodder or changing dating partners like fresh pairs of underwear, Davidson appears in films like Transformers: Rise of the Beasts, Fast X, Dumb Money, and Good Burger 2. He recently completed his role for The Home.

Eddie Murphy is ready to have the last laugh as police lieutenant Axel Foley in the teaser trailer for Netflix’s Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F.
Hitting the streamer in the summer of 2024, the new movie from director Mark Molloy revives the action-comedy franchise three decades after the previous installment. Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F stars Murphy as Detroit native Foley, who returns to Beverly Hills after the life of his daughter (Taylour Paige) is threatened.
The film sees Foley teaming with a new partner — played by Joseph Gordon-Levitt — while investigating a possible conspiracy and spending time with familiar faces including Billy Rosewood (Judge Reinhold), John Taggart (John Ashton), Jeffrey Friedman (Paul Reiser) and Serge (Bronson Pinchot). Kevin Bacon is also part of the action as Captain Grant.
“Watch your ass out there, Ok?” Reiser warns Murphy, who responds, “I’m gonna be fine. They love me in Beverly Hills.

One cannot understate the impact Martin Brest's crime comedy "Beverly Hills Cop" had on popular culture when it was released in 1984. Between "Cop," the 1983 comedy "Trading Places," and Walter Hill's 1982 buddy film "48 Hrs.," Eddie Murphy was suddenly one of the largest and most striking movie stars in the world. His glib delivery and willingness to be crass rattled cinemas to an astonishing degree, and audiences began flocking to see Murphy in just about anything. Brest's film was made for a mere $13 million and would rack up about $316 million worldwide. It was also nominated for Best Original Screenplay at the Academy Awards.

After DC Studios finally released a teaser trailer for Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, now feels like the perfect time to return to the 2018 original that started it all. There’s controversy and then there’s comic book movie controversy. A by-the-book police chief who's heard of the Detroit detective's calamitous L.A. antics, and is determined to kick his streetsmart butt out of town? A slick, wealthy pillar of the community who's doing a little human trafficking on the side? Or maybe they'll borrow a twist from "Die Hard with a Vengeance," and make Bacon the revenge-seeking brother of Ellis DeWalt, the cop-killing antagonist from the universally beloved "Beverly Hills Cop III."
It's impossible to say because, at present, we know nothing about "Beverly Hills Cop: Axel Foley...

Eddie Murphy turned 61 years old this year, which makes him roughly the same age John Wayne was when he played the out-to-pasture codger Rooster Cogburn in "True Grit." That film, and Wayne's subsequent Westerns, had an elegiac, one-last-ride feeling to them. Yes, the Duke's cancer was in remission at this point, but he still looked washed. When he finally succumbed to the disease on the eve of the 1980s, the book quietly closed on an outmoded era of Hollywood filmmaking. It was time. Of all the golden age stars, Wayne was uniquely unsuited to the coked-up, strip-club glitz pioneered by producing teams like Don Simpson/Jerry Bruckheimer and Jon Peters/Peter Guber.
Of all the big-screen '80s superstars, no one was more at home in this olio of excess than Eddie Murphy. His fast-talking, nimble-minded riffing was perfectly attuned to the hurtling energy of the decade's blockbuster action-comedies. Murphy...

Eddie Murphy is reuniting with his original “Beverly Hills Cop” co-stars — Judge Reinhold, John Ashton, Paul Reiser and Bronson Pinchot — for the upcoming sequel, “Beverly Hills Cop: Axel Foley.”
Netflix picked up the rights in 2019 to release the next “Beverly Hills Cop” movie, which is currently in production.
“Axel Foley” is the fourth installment in the hit action-comedy franchise, following 1984’s “Beverly Hills Cop,” 1987’s “Beverly Hills Cop II” and 1994’s “Beverly Hills Cop III.” For the fourquel, producers opted to ditch the roman numerals and instead name the film after Murphy’s fish-out-of-water character, a Detroit police officer who travels to Los Angeles to investigate crimes.
Plot details for “Beverly Hills Cop: Axel Foley” have been kept under wraps. Presumably, the story involves Axel Foley is returning to the 90210 to crack a new case.

A year after Eddie Murphy revived one of his classic roles in "Coming 2 America," the actor is officially set to bring the world of "Beverly Hills Cop" back from the dead. "Beverly Hills Cop 4" has been in development for several years, but there finally seems to be some momentum on the project, as Deadline reports it now has a name –- "Beverly Hills Cop: Axel Foley" –- and a supporting cast. "Zola" breakout star Taylour Paige will join Murphy in the new film, as will "Super Pumped" star Joseph Gordon-Levitt.

The Snyder Cut finally has a release date.
Director Zack Snyder’s new version of the 2017 DC Comics superhero film “Justice League” will premiere on HBO Max on March 18, WarnerMedia announced on Friday.
“Justice League” brought together DC Comics’ greatest heroes for the first time ever on the big screen. Superman (Henry Cavill), Batman (Ben Affleck), Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot), Aquaman (Jason Momoa), the Flash (Ezra Miller) and Cyborg (Ray Fisher) joined forces to prevent the supervillain Steppenwolf from destroying the Earth.
However, reviews from critics and comic book fans alike were mostly negative for the 2017 film, which was primarily directed by Joss Whedon after Snyder had to drop out due to a family emergency. Many viewers noticed the tonal shifts between the directors and called for the release of the rumored Snyder Cut — a version of the film with Snyder’s original vision.

“Deputy,” Fox’s modern-day Western procedural starring Stephen Dorff, has been canceled after one season.
The one-hour drama centered on a career lawman who steps into the role of acting sheriff of Los Angeles County following the death of the current sheriff. Despite being better suited to rounding up criminals than navigating the politics of a staff meeting at the station, he finds himself in charge of 10,000 deputies. The show hailed from writer Will Beall and director David Ayer, who served as executive producers alongside Chris Long for Cedar Park.
The series debuted to a decent audience shortly after the new year, bringing in a 0.8 rating in the key adult 18-49 demographic and 4.8 million total viewers on its Thursday night premiere, per final figures. Its season finale brought in a 0.6 rating among adults 18-49 and 3.9 million total viewers.
But “Deputy” is not the only freshman Fox series to get the ax.

Fox has made a renewal decision on Deputy, canceling the freshman police drama starring Stephen Dorff.
While broadcast networks typically wait until the last minute to make their cancellations after they have seen the new crop of pilots, this is not a typical year, and no pilots are being shot any time soon as Hollywood production was shut down over the coronavirus pandemic. Fox has been ahead of the game; this is the second freshman series the network has canceled, joining fellow drama Almost Family.
