"If you don't take chances in this life, you're already dead." Cinedigm has revealed the official trailer for Coast, an indie coming-of-age film from filmmakers Jessica Hester & Derek Schweickart. This premiered at the 2021 Santa Barbara Film Festival last year and is ready for release starting in April this year. Desperate to escape her small coastal farming town, 16-year-old Abby falls in love with the lead singer of a touring rock band. Now, she must decide whether she'll stay or leave her family and friends behind. Starring Fátima Ptacek as the spunky Abby, with Ciara Bravo, Melissa Leo, Cristela Alonzo, Kane Ritchotte, Mia Rose Frampton, Andres Velez, and Mia Xitlali. The film features live performances from Dog Party, Hayley & The Crushers, Pancho & The Wizards, and music for the film by The Ceremonies & Black Match. The Ceremonies also co-star in the film as the fictional band "Pinata Jones". Another film about young love.

Chicago – The topic of cancer is rarely heroic, and as we know mostly concludes tragically. But the new teen comedy “Hope Springs Eternal” turns the Big C on its ear, and features up-and-coming young actor Mia Rose Frampton to take it on. The film is light and breezy, with nods to John Hughes, absurdist teen indoctrinations and the celebration of music in life.
Rating: 3.5/5.0
Written with a nice light balance by Stephanie Mickus (her debut) and directed by Chicagoan Jack C. Newell, “Hope Springs Eternal” is tight storytelling and brisk comedy. Frampton keeps it alive with her expressive optimism in the main role, and is able to handle both the light and darkness of the “C” without being maudlin. The cast is top drawer and seems to be having a good time… the highlight being a Hughes-like “mean girl” coterie who have a habit of dressing alike. This is a great cheer-us-up film,...

The film hasn't premiered at any major festivals before as far as we know, but it will be hitting theaters next month for those who might be interested. Young actress Mia Rose Frampton stars, with Stony Blyden, Juliette Angelo, Beau Brooks, Beth Lacke, and Pej Vahdat. This PG-rated film has all the usual cliche high school moments. Bridesmaids star Melissa McCarthy has found a niche playing slovenly yet oddly likable protagonists, and she’ll be taking viewers on a ride with her wildest creation yet this July when she unveils Tammy, a road trip comedy which McCarthy co-wrote with her director and off-screen husband Ben Falcone. Now, Warner Bros. has revealed a trio of posters which find McCarthy’s character declaring her independence in a number of strange, albeit funny ways.
In the posters, Tammy guns her junky car, hangs on for dear life on a jet-ski and throws her hands in the air outside the Toppy Jack’s fast-food joint she just stuck up. The taglines for the poster are a little odd, to say the least, but the images themselves are somewhat entertaining to look at. However, we’ll have to wait until the film hits theaters to see whether “Coming in hot!,” “Look out fish!

"Bridesmaids" is truly the gift that keeps on giving.
Thanks the Blu-ray and DVD release of the comedy, there's a whole crop of bonus features -- including the indisputable highlight (via FlavorWire), an extended version of the argument scene that gets Kristen Wiig's character fired.
Spread out over 10 minutes, the bickering between Wiig and Mia Rose Frampton (Pete Frampton's granddaughter, by the way) does a surprisingly good job of sustaining our interest.
Knowing we'll get a four-letter-word-laden, Nsfw outburst when it's all done doesn't hurt either.

Have you ever been in a tight situation where you needed a handy insult? Need a good go-to line?
If that's the case, there's a great extended scene on the "Bridesmaids" Blu-Ray of the jewelry store fight between Kristen Wiig's character Annie and a snotty teenage girl played by Mia Rose Frampton – daughter of legendary rocker Peter Frampton! – that is perfect for you. (See it here.)
The pair spar in a 10-minute improvised riff that includes some pretty great insults and comebacks. We've collected a few of our (safe for work) favorites after the jump.
>>> "Did you forget to take your Xanax this morning?"
>>> "Do you drink Listerine?"
Bonus Retort: "No … I can afford alcohol. Plus, I'm over 21, so I can get it."
>>> "You need to stop getting laid, 'cause you're going to be a stripper."
>>> "You're old and your pores are big."
>>> "You eat your own farts."
Bonus...

The following comes from the [amazon asin="B0056IXS7S" text="Bridesmaids Blu-ray"], featuring the full scene in which Kristen Wiig's character gets in a pissing match with the 13-year-old girl at the jewelry store played by Peter Frampton's daughter Mia Rose Frampton.
An example of what kind of back-and-forth you'll hear in this 11 minute sequence goes like this: Wiig: "Well you're young and your butt stinks."
13-year-old: "Well... I smell something else."
Wiig: "Okay, that's disgusting. You shouldn't even know what that is."
13-year-old: "I have one."
Wiig: "Barely."
13-year-old: "Well, at least mine's not overused."
Wiig: "Okay, an overused one is a sign of a hot lady."
13-year-old: "Of a hot lady?"
Wiig: "Yeah, call me when your boobs come in."
[...]
Wiig: "I'd say it's your time of the month, but you're obviously post-menopausal... You can't have a baby, your eggs are dry.
13-year-old: "My eggs are wet!" I think you get the point.

That’S What I Am
Stars: Ed Harris, Chase Ellison, Molly Parker, Daniel Roebuck, Randy Orton, Daniel Yelsky, Alexander Walters, Mia Rose Frampton | Written and Directed by Mike Pavone
Set in the 60’s, a time when a social revolution was beginning to change the mind sets of society, comes a feel good story about an inspirational teacher, Mr Simon (Ed Harris – The Truman Show, Apollo 13, Nixon, The Way Back) who instils in his pupils, a new way of thinking that will change their lives forever.
One kid, whose outlook on life takes on a whole new meaning, is 12 year old Andy Nichol (Chase Ellison – Tooth Fairy). A bright student, Andy is put to the test when his English teacher Mr. Simon pairs him up on a project with the school’s biggest outcast, Stanley, also affectionately known as Big G because of his large frame, facial features and ginger hair.

Summary: Like watching your parents make out.
That's What I Am is a movie that dares you not to like it. I bravely accept. It's a dirty job, but somebody's gotta do it. The ideal audience member for this film is someone who simply has never seen a film before. If that person is you, by all means, dig in. For the rest of us, this unyieldingly saccharine coming-of-age romp is packed to the brim with all too familiar characters -- the inspiring teacher who might be gay (Ed Harris), the awkward misunderstood outcast (Alexander Walters), the dream girl (Mia Rose Frampton... yes, that Frampton), and my personal favorite, the Bully Family, where all the rotten apples don't fall far from the rotten tree.
