Having spent years in development limbo as films were announced only to vanish back into the ether, we are finally getting a screen version of William Gibson's iconic cyberpunk tome Neuromancer via a series in the works at Apple TV+. And the show's creative team is plucking an Apple TV veteran to star, as Masters Of The Air's Callum Turner is aboard in the lead role.
Gibson's book, which was first published in 1984, went on to receive a Hugo Award, a Nebula Award, and the Philip K. Dick Award. The novel follows Henry Case (the role Turner is taking), a washed-up hacker hired for one last job by a shady ex-military officer, which brings him in contact with a powerful artificial intelligence.
Gibson crafted two follow-ups, Count Zero and Mona Lisa Overdrive, which means there's material for future seasons if needed, or a potential anthology series. Graham Roland...

Forty years ago, author William Gibson brought the world a cyberpunk novel called Neuromancer – and an adaptation of that story has been trudging its way through development hell pretty much ever since. Versions of a feature film adaptation have passed through the hands of director like music video maker Chris Cunningham, A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors and The Blob‘s Chuck Russell, Torque‘s Joseph Kahn, Cube‘s Vincenzo Natali, and Deadpool‘s Tim Miller. While these projects were being put together (and while they fell apart), Neuromancer fans always wondered who would end up playing the lead character, Henry Dorsett Case. Hayden Christensen was rumored to be the top contender when Kahn was going to direct (with Liv Tyler rumored to co-star). Liam Neeson and Mark Wahlberg were said to be in the running for Natali’s version, although it wasn’t said who they might be playing.

AMC is heading into more Dark Winds.
The cable network has renewed the crime drama for a third season, coming a couple of weeks after season two finished its run.
The series is planned to premiere in early 2025, a noticeable shift from the summer premiere of its first two seasons, but understandable given the writers and actors strike.
It comes after Dark Winds made its debut on Warner Bros. Discovery’s Max service as part of a two-month pop-up.
Dark Winds stars Zahn McClarnon, Kiowa Gordon and Jessica Matten.
The first season of the series, which is produced by AMC Studios, drew 2.2M viewers on AMC for its June 2022 launch in Live+3 ratings. The company said that the second season averaged 1.7M viewers each week in Live+3, per Nielsen and saw “significant” viewership and acquisition gains from season one on AMC+.

Leaphorn and Chee will remain on the case at AMC.

The pickup comes about three weeks after the conclusion of the drama’s second season, which ranks among the top 10 cable dramas for this season. This article contains spoilers for Dark Winds season 2.
The acclaimed AMC+ neo-noir series Dark Winds, created by Graham Roland and based on the Leaphorn & Chee novel series by Tony Hillerman, has just wrapped its second season. Going deeper, darker, and more violent than its inaugural season, Dark Winds places protagonist Joe Leaphorn (Zahn McClarnon) on a more personal and grueling gauntlet that leads him to journey through his own heart of darkness. This isn’t to say that the second season is an introspective story, the season kicks off with a literal bang, but it does strike particularly closer to home for Leaphorn.
Drawing elements from Hillerman’s 1980 novel People of Darkness, the second season starts out with its two leads investigating different cases before inevitably bringing them back together. Introducing a new set of supporting characters, including a genuinely menacing antagonist in Colton Wolf (Nicholas Logan), things are deadlier...

When Chris Eyre’s “Smoke Signals” won the audience prize in Sundance 25 years ago, the director thought the kudos would soon lead to a landslide of opportunities for Native talent. Amid a flourishing independent film scene, the road trip dramedy won acclaim and awards as the first feature written, directed and produced by Native filmmakers. But it took two decades, and a pivot to television, for Native voices to finally get a wider chance to be heard.
More than two decades later, Eyre is now an executive producer and director on AMC+’s Navajo noir series “Dark Winds,” based on the Tony Hillerman mystery novels. Longtime Hillerman fans Robert Redford and George R.R. Martin also serve as executive producers. “Dark Winds” premiered in 2022 as a wave of TV Westerns was proving massively popular, and yet, it’s very different from shows like “Yellowstone,” “Joe Pickett,” and “Justified” with its focus on a Native cast,...

Exclusive: Nicholas Logan and Jeri Ryan have joined the cast of Dark Winds, AMC’s Western noir thriller series based on Tony Hillerman’s popular Leaphorn & Chee book series. Logan joins as a Season 2 series regular and Ryan in a recurring role opposite Zahn McClarnon and Kiowa Gordon in the series from creator Graham Roland and executive producers George R.R. The castings reaffirm AMC’s commitment to Dark Winds, which has been a critical and commercial breakout, following a string of pickup reversal decisions by the network in the past few weeks done as a cost-cutting move.
Set in 1971 on a remote outpost of the Navajo Nation near Monument Valley, Dark Winds follows Lieutenant Joe Leaphorn (McClarnon) of the Tribal Police as he is besieged by a series of seemingly unrelated crimes.
Logan plays Colton Wolf, a twisted assassin with a secret that puts him on a collision course with Lt.

You know him as Jim from "The Office," you've seen him enter the action/thriller genre on both sides of the camera in the "A Quiet Place" movies, and superhero fans who saw one random photoshop of him in a Fantastic Four getup and subsequently bullied a major corporation into including him in an extended cameo sequence even got to see him pulled to pieces as Reed Richards in "Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness." Now, John Krasinski is back in action hero mode once again for Prime Video's "Jack Ryan" series, based on the popular novels penned by prolific author Tom Clancy. Three seasons in and showing no signs of stopping anytime soon, Krasinski's eponymous super-spy extraordinaire is set to face his toughest challenge yet: an unbearably long two-year layoff since the last episode of the series.
No, but seriously, that challenge is obviously Russians — who else! — and...

Stop me if you've heard this one before, but one of the greatest super-spies in all of fiction has gone rogue and is now on the run from the government he's supposed to be working for. Oh, and there's probably another World War on the horizon if he fails. No pressure!
If that general storyline is good enough for the likes of James Bond, Jason Bourne, Jack Bauer, and Ethan Hunt, then it certainly works for one of author Tom Clancy's most enduring characters: Jack Ryan. Prime Video has aired two seasons of "Jack Ryan" with "The Office," "13 Hours," and "A Quiet Place" actor John Krasinski in the title role, punching and shooting his way through hordes of bad guys ever since the show's debut in August of 2018. More than three years after season 2 came to a close, the action/thriller series is back once again with its most dire stakes yet.

Prime Video’s TV series about novelist Tom Clancy’s most famous character appears to have been the victim of some of the usual behind-the-scenes issues. Season 3 underwent not one, but two showrunner shakeups and then the world went into lockdown due to the coronavirus pandemic. Not only that, but right before Jack Ryan season 1 even premiered, its star John Krasinski proved himself to be a capable horror director with A Quiet Place and naturally had to return to helm its sequel.
Prime Video doled out an advance order for Jack Ryan Season 3 back in February 2019, before season 2 even premiered. And that was pretty much the last we heard of Jack Ryan season 3 for awhile, outside of some brief casting announcements. Now, however, Prime Video has finally announced a release date for the globe-trotting CIA analyst’s third outing.
Here is everything we know about Jack Ryan season 3.

Dark Winds is getting a showrunner change for season two.
The breakout AMC series will see John Wirth take over showrunning duties for the sophomore run, replacing Vince Calandra, who served as showrunner and exec producer on season one.
Wirth is no stranger to the network, having served as showrunner on Hell on Wheels for four seasons and exec produced Hap and Leonard.
It comes after the network renewed the Native-led Western noir crime thriller, which stars Zahn McClarnon, for a second six-episode run in June.
The series, which is produced by AMC Studios, performed well for the network, drawing 2.2M viewers for its June 12 launch in live+3 ratings and becoming its number one new series launch for its streaming service AMC+.
Set in 1971 on a remote outpost of the Navajo Nation near Monument Valley, Dark Winds follows Lt. Joe Leaphorn of the Tribal Police (McClarnon) as he is besieged...
