Set to begin filming this summer, Road Dogs follows three stand-up comedians as they hit the road for a simple weekend showcase, only to have their plans derailed by a crooked club owner and her homicidal bouncer. Roberts and Myrin both starred in Netflix’s hit show, Insatiable, and are eager to work together again on something equally dark and irreverent.
Aaron W. Bennett and Vanessa Leigh co-wrote the script, which is based on Bennett’s time as an improv comic and comedy club owner in Central Washington. Actor, writer, director and producer Hunter G. Williams (pictured above) – whose fantastic film The Madness Within we reviewed back in 2019, describing it as “The Wolf of Wall Street for the Hollywood crowdâ€. is currently shipping a brand new script around Hollywood and he’s got some huge shoes to fill!
Whilst he has an interesting female-lead, dark ensemble comedy based on a true story, called Two for the Money in the works it’s his Other project that will be of most interest for Nerdly readers… An American Werewolf in Rome is an homage to the classic 80s werewolf movie An American Werewolf in London which takes the ‘fish out of water’ terror of that film and adds a historical context, tying the werewolf origins to the epic history of Rome and its impact on the world.

Where to begin with The Madness Within? How about right at the start. Seriously, this film has one of the strongest openings I’ve seen in ages. In fact the pre-credits sequence plays out almost like a trailer, showing us what type of man the protagonist is, what “interesting” things he gets up to: sex, drugs and something else, something darker. Something which you can tell right from the get-go is going to be dark and dangerous. And that’s even without so much as an inkling of plot. It’s a tremendous way to introduce a movie and it’s lead character – plus it raises a ton of questions about...

Cornered A spine tingling debut trailer (which can be viewed after the jump) has been unleashed upon unsuspecting audiences for Cornered, a serial killer themed action horror/thriller, from director Taylor Chien. Cornered involves a Los Angeles homicide detective who must stop a government trained serial killer before the agency that trained him can cover it up and before the killer finds a new victim.
According to IMDb, the film is rated PG-13. PG-13 be damned, the trailer looks suspenseful with an interesting enough story that has the potential to create a dynamic parallel as it traces all these characters trying to avoid or catch up with one another. It's the classic cat and mouse element. And Cornered does look like it's polished and well made.
Cornered, which stars Hunter G. Williams (Shooting for Tomorrow), Heather McComb (Apt Pupil), Scott Michael Campbell (Push) and Tommy 'Tiny' Lister (Jackie Brown), is...
