I have an opinion: "Slasher" is better than "American Horror Story."
Maybe that's not so controversial to say in 2023, when the popular horror anthology series created by Ryan Murphy hasn't had a good season in almost five years, and hasn't had a great one in over 10. "AHS" premiered in 2011, the same year that the sci-fi/technology-run-amok anthology series "Black Mirror" premiered. Curiously, though "Black Mirror" was just as popular, and was covered as furiously as "AHS" was in its prime, its influence on subsequent sci-fi visions seems to have jumped mediums to film. One can imagine pressing play on a new season of "Black Mirror" and watching films like "Ex-Machina," "The Circle," and "Vivarium," were a few minutes shaved off each.
"AHS," however, spawned a veritable renaissance in horror anthology series, from HBO's "Room 104," to Hulu's "Castle Rock," to Syfy's "Channel Zero." Before "AHS," you'd have to...

The latest chapter of Slasher is well underway.
On Slasher: Ripper Episode 3, Basil (Eric McCormack) is on a mission to unmask the Widow.
In doing so, he realizes that someone from his rich inner circle might be responsible.
If the Widow taught us anything in the first two episodes of this Shudder and AMC+ drama, they are ready to dole out justice towards the elite.
As a result, people are dropping like flies, and it looks like Basil and his powerful friends are harboring a fateful secret about an event several years before.
In an exclusive clip shared with TV Fanatic, we see the extent Basil is willing to go to get answers.
He's not the nicest person, but he strikes me as the kind of person who will find answers easier than some other characters.
With power and influence, it's easier to get things done, but in the Slasher sandbox,...

We're only a day away from the two-episode premiere of Slasher: Ripper on Shudder and AMC+, and not only do we have an exclusive clip just for Daily Dead readers, but director Adam MacDonald (Pyewacket) provided us with some behind-the-scenes details!
Synopsis: "Slasher: Ripper takes the franchise back in time to the late 19th century and follows Basil Garvey (McCormack), a charismatic tycoon whose success is only rivaled by his ruthlessness, as he oversees a city on the cusp of a new century, and a social upheaval that will see its streets run red with blood. There’s a killer stalking the mean streets, but instead of targeting the poor and downtrodden like Jack the Ripper, The Widow is meting out justice against the rich and powerful. The only person standing in the way of this killer is the newly promoted detective, Kenneth Rijkers, whose ironclad belief in justice may...

Exclusive: Lifetime has rounded out cast for both installments of Toni Braxton’s Fallen Angels Murder Club, and Angie Harmon’s Barstow (working title) movies. The movies fall under previously signed deals with Braxton and Harmon, in which they will star in and executive produce multiple films for Lifetime.
Eddie Cibrian has joined the first installment of Braxton’s Fallen Angels, while Kelly Hu joins the cast of the second film. Both films are based on the Hollis Morgan mystery book series by author R. Franklin James.
Cibrian stars as Avery Mitchell, Hollis Morgan’s (Braxton) charismatic boss, while Hu will make her debut in the second installment as the mysterious Joelle. Both productions have started filming and will premiere in 2022. Additionally, Harmon’s Barstow (working title) movies has added Kristoffer Polaha as Elliot, a mysterious stranger with a troubling past.
In the first installment of Fallen Angels Murder Club (wt), members of the Club must have two things in common – a love for books and have a criminal record. Hollis Morgan (Braxton) meets both requirements. Left holding the bag in an insurance fraud scheme concocted by her ex-husband, Hollis served her time and now hopes the court will pardon her conviction so she can return to law school and fulfill her dream of becoming a lawyer. But when a member of her book club is murdered in a scene straight out of the previous night’s novel, Hollis once again becomes the subject of police scrutiny. Refusing to get stuck with another bad rap, Hollis sets out to investigate her fellow club members and after a second book-inspired murder, she races to identify the killer before she becomes the next victim.
Cast also includes Keith D. Robinson, Lisa Berry, Yanic Truesdale (Gilmore Girls), Kaitlyn Leeb (Spinning Out), Humberly Gonzalez (Ginny & Georgia), Rainbow Sun Francks (Umbrella Academy), Henderson Wade, Rob Stewart, Raoul Bhaneja and Shawn Ahmed.

The movies are produced for Lifetime by Brain Power Studio and executive produced by Beth Stevenson, Nancy Yeaman, Toni Braxton and Rhonda Baraka. The films are written and directed by Baraka.
In Barstow (wt),Harmon stars as Hazel King, a single mother determined to shield her daughter from the life she once had while protecting and defending those who can’t protect themselves. Plucked off the streets of Las Vegas at 15, Hazel was trained as a hit woman until a surprisng pregnancy drives her to leave it all behind. Living as a single mother running a diner in Barstow with her teenage daughter, Hazel’s past eventually catches up with her and she’s pulled back in for one more hit.
Additional cast include Lauren Richards, George Paez, Tim Granaderos, Gabriel Rodriguez, Casey Mills, Ben Cain, Anthony Reynolds and Nelson Bonilla.

“This is where it ends.” So warns this new extended promo for the final batch of episodes of Supernatural‘s fifteenth season. Last week, The CW dropped a short teaser for the resumed last run of the record-breaking show, and now we have this further trailer which amps up the hype even more.
Season 15 should’ve wrapped up months ago, but it was pulled from the schedule back in March due to the pandemic affecting production and post-production. Starting in October, just in time for Halloween, the series will begin airing its last ever seven episodes. And this promo promises that the stakes have never been higher.
The trailer begins with Billie Aka the current Death (Lisa Berry) warning Dean (Jensen Ackles) that God (Rob Benedict) will unleash his next attack on the world soon. The Winchesters have a way of stopping the Almighty, though – Jack (Alexander Calvert), son of Lucifer himself,...

Supernatural Season 15 Episode 13
The Winchesters are off on another quest — this time searching for the long lost Occultum. It’s billed as a weapon at first, but later they find it’s something completely different. This episode was chock full of guest stars, location changes, and additions to the divine lore in Supernatural. Let’s dive on in.
It’s potentially the end of the world as we know it, but Dean feels fine enough to make his usual bro-y quips to lighten the mood. When Castiel is describing what happened to the mystical Occultum, a thing that they could use against Chuck, Dean makes all these movie plot guesses as to what happened it, much to the angel’s chagrin. This little bit of levity kept the tone from getting too bleak from the start — but then the writers through in some Richie Rich Winchesters from another universe,...

Chuck opens this episode of Supernatural by monologuing, and frankly complaining, to Radio Shed guy in an alternate universe where we have President Hillary Clinton. This little mention is a quick way for the viewer to get on board with the alternate universe situation while showing a believable world like ours — not some spooky hellscape, but a world we could conceivably care about. Chuck’s exposition details his frustration with trying to get our Sam and Dean to follow with his Cain and Abel storyline. He talks about how in other universes, he got them to play along, but it’s these two, the ones who are resisting the most, who are the really important ones to him.
This intro scene, though it may at first seem unconnected to the story where Sam and Dean need to rescue Sheriff Jody, is setting...

If you ever think you have the upper hand against Supernatural's Winchester boys, know that death is close at hand. For Billie the Reaper, that's a lesson she'll take to her grave.
Death's untimely demise left a power vacuum amongst Supernatural's soul collectors, one that Billie (Lisa Berry) filled with a no-nonsense approach. Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles) are two of mortality's most notorious scofflaws, but, under Billie's watchful gaze, their little habit of slipping the noose was at and end. But just when the Reaper thought she had one Winchester in her crosshairs, Castiel (Misha Collins) snapped like a twig.
