On Tuesday, the Medical Examiner’s Office of San Diego County revealed that the 50-year-old’s cause of death was a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the chest.
Press told investigators that she found him on the floor of their bathroom Saturday morning, lying next to a gun. She called 911, but responders were unable to resuscitate him when they arrived, later pronouncing him dead.

Mary Alice: "Susan Delfino and Carlos Solis had never been the best of friends...Susan thought Carlos paid too much attention to other people's opinions, Carlos thought she didn't have an opinion. Susan (Teri Hatcher) was troubled by thoughts she couldn't share with her spouse and Carlos (Richardo Antonio Chavira) was in the same predicament...suddenly found they had a great deal to talk about." Carlos sees ghost of Alejandro and Susan feels like she has a flashing 'guilty' neon sign on her forehead. She got 15 hours community service. Their talks feel so...Susan: "I know." She hoped to run into him and so did he. Carlos hasn't read To Kill A Mockingbird. Mary Alice (Brenda Strong) "Susan and Carlos were starting to pay attention to one another, but what they didn't realize was someone else was paying attention too." I.e Mike (James Denton) sees them through the window.

Susan and Carlos grow closer in the October 9 episode of Desperate Housewives and Mike is suspicious of their growing friendship.
In the episode, Susan and Carlos will bond over their shared guilt about last season's murder. As a result, Mike suspects that the pair are having an affair. Bree has her own suspicions and believes that Chuck, her detective boyfriend, is actually investigating her. Lynette still has to deal with her crumbling marriage in this episode and it doesn't help when her sister Lydia, who is typically unlucky with relationships, comes to town to announce that she is engaged. Lee asks Renee if she will take Jenny shopping for her first bra. Renee is happy to help, but after the girls bond, Lee is afraid that Jenny is becoming more attached to Renee than to him.
