"Do you think I did it?" "Doesn't she deserve justice?" An early trailer has debuted for an indie drama titled Plea, marking the feature directorial debut of filmmaker Brian McQuery. It hasn't premiered at any film festivals yet, but has been submitted to many. McQuery is a friend of the site who has worked with us on preparing interviews many times over the years. Plea is his first feature after making numerous shorts. After 20 years in prison, a wrongfully convicted man is released from prison for rape and murder. The victim's husband has become a recluse, obsessed with a true crime documentary about the case, and tries to contact law enforcement to reopen the investigation. Then the prosecutor is kidnapped in a desperate attempt to convince her to find the real killer. The film stars Steve Mize, Anne Marie Howard, Eddie Kehler, and Heather Langenkamp, with Marty Ryan and Reggie Watkins.

Terminator fans rejoice! If you’re amongst the hopeful that believe director Alan Taylor’s reboot-within-a-sequel is going to give the franchise the shot in the arm it so desperately needs, then take solace in the fact that Terminator: Genesis has begun filming. Taylor, the Game of Thrones veteran that also brought us last year’s Thor: The Dark World, has put together a cast that includes Academy Award nominees, fellow GoT vets, and- most importantly- the face of the franchise, the Austrian Oak himself, Arnold Schwarzenegger.
Skydance Productions has taken to its official Facebook page to reveal the film slate for the very first shot of the very first scene for Terminator: Genesis. Included is an intriguing glimpse of what the scene itself could entail. So consider this your *Spoiler Alert* before proceeding to check out the Facebook post.

*Updated with additional screening details* Anchor Bay Films has announced a limited La screening engagement taking place for The Victim this week, with Michael Biehn, Jennifer Blanc, and Denny Kirkwood in attendance.
“Good time girls Annie (Jennifer Blanc) and Mary (Danielle Harris) find themselves in a life and death situation. Annie’s life is put in jeopardy when she is witness to a violent act at the hands of two Sheriff’s Deputies (Ryan Honey, Denny Kirkwood). With her pursuers closing in, she stumbles across Kyle (Michael Biehn, Terminator, Aliens, The Rock), a recluse living in the middle of the woods. A rugged loner, Kyle finds the stillness of the woods comforting. He keeps civilization at arm’s length; that is – until a single knock on his door throws his solitary life into chaos. Two worlds collide in this nerve-fraying thriller that will keep audiences guessing until the very last frame.

I can’t tell you how much I love the 1986 comedy Running Scared. I have watched on home video too many times to count, but I’ve never seen it on the big screen. That is about to change because the New Beverly Cinema is hosting a 25th Anniversary Q & A screening on September 28th at 8 Pm. Schedules permitting, the guests will be Director Peter Hyams and actors Darlanne Fluegel, Steven Bauer and Jon Gries.
Ray and Danny are the wild men of the Windy City’s police force. The pair’s unorthodox methods get results in a tough town – until they come up against Julio Gonzales (Jimmy Smits, “NYPD Blue”), a smooth-talking drug dealer who is bucking to become Chicago’s first Spanish Godfather. Trying to nail Gonzales, they blow a delicate undercover operation and are sent on a forced vacation to Key West – where they discover the good...

It’s no contest. The Los Angeles revival theater The New Beverly is the place to join hardcore cinefiles for the best movie experience this side of the Alamo Drafthouse. They show everything from horror, science fiction, fantasy, to, well, whatever genre they want. That’s what makes them so unique. And on a lot of occassions, they bring in talent from a particular film to do an impromptu retrospective before a screening. Such is the case with Fred Dekker’s 1986 late night classic Night of the Creeps. A good friend of mine, Brian McQuery, has locked in Night of the Creeps and The Monster Squad helmer Fred Dekker for a Q and A that is sure to bring the house down.
Here are the specifics. The festivities begin on Saturday, July 2 at 11:30Pm at The New Beverly located at 7165 Beverly Blvd. in Los Angeles, California.

Goodfellas, arguably the greatest mob movie ever made next to The Godfather will be screening at the New Beverly Cinema this Sunday at 4:45. What's extra cool about the screening is an introduction and Q&A with screenwriter Nicholas Pileggi and Paul Sorvino, to be moderated by film guru Brian McQuery.Goodfellas and Casino, when watched back to back, will make you want to go grab some garlic bread and pasta and mangiare until your stomach explodes. That's after you do a couple of hits on some palookas who haven't bothered to pay you back what they owe you of course.Again, if you're in Los Angeles, be sure to watch Goodfellas this Sunday the 15th. You don't wanna go out like Spider, do you? Source: Brian McQuery...
