Filmmakers and actors Tommy Wiseau and Greg Sestero are going from the confines of the cult hit The Room to intergalactic adventures in the new animated pilot SpaceWorld.
Wiseau and Sestero are lending their voice to the loosely serialized animated sci-fi series. Wiseau stars as the mysterious bounty hunter known as TX, a man in search of his home planet, which he knows absolutely nothing about. Sestero’s Drogol is TX’s lifelong nemesis and SpaceWorld’s most bloodthirsty killer. Together, they explore and explode SpaceWorld’s vast but dingy universe of limitless possibilities, technologies, and stupidities.
The self-aware pilot describes itself as a sci-fi series that “takes down its hair, kicks off its boots, and lets itself be straight-up dumb.” The new project comes two years after the critically acclaimed film The Disaster Artist directed by James Franco and written by Scott Neustadter and Michael H. Weber. The film...

Justine Ezarik, known to the online world as iJustine, is featured on the latest episode of Studio 8's Tommy Wi-Show. The series, which debuted on the Machinima Network back in September 2011, features star of cult classic The Room, Tommy Wiseau. In the latest episode "Fight Night Champion," as Wiseau tries to spread his holiday warmth and good cheer, he is interrupted by iJustine. From there, things get...messy. "Working with Tommy is always a fun and interesting experience," iJustine told Tubefilter. "This was no exception! Studio 8 came to me and asked how I felt about getting my arms ripped off for a video and I instantly agreed!" This isn't iJustine's first project with Wiseau. The duo appeared in the Atom.com comedic horror pilot The House That Drips Blood on Alex (starring Wiseau and premiering at San Diego Comic-Con), which was also produced by Studio 8. Brock Laborde, president of Studio...

It's a good day for fans of playing football in tuxedos. Tommy Wiseau, the writer/director/star of the so-bad-it's-transcendantly-funny cult hit "The Room", returns with his new project, a 12-minute horror-comedy short called"The House That Drips Blood on Alex." Written by Brock Laborde and directed by and starring Wiseau, it's about (in the filmmaker's own words from the film) "a man much like myself. A man who is myself, who moves into a house. A very old house. Older than times itself, perhaps. It's not ordinary house, no! There is something very different about this house!" Oh, Tommy. Don't ever change.
If you're wondering if Wiseau is now in on the joke, which therefore negates the joke of marveling at his craziness, the answers are yes and surprisingly no. Certainly Wiseau now realizes people enjoy watching him act strange -- how else to explain his pointless yet mesmerizing...

Our last story on Atom.com's summer slate left us with many questions about this intriguing untitled horror parody from Studio 8, starring cult horror favorite The Room's Tommy Wiseau. Self-described as "a film with the passion of Tenessee Williams," The Room was an unsuccessful low budget indie drama re-marketed as "a quirky new black comedy" that has become a worldwide phenomenon screened in sold-out theaters for six straight years since its release in 2005. Just watch these two drastically different trailers on the website and you'll get it: If you have ever seen The Room, or perhaps witnessed the strangely reoccurring Los Angeles billboard or surfed the equally creepy website, you'll understand why casting Tommy Wiseau in a horror parody is nothing short of brilliant. Under the creative direction of Studio 8's Brock Laborde (I've worked with the man -disclosure! disclosure!) Untitled Tommy Wiseau Studio 8 Horror Project will no doubt explore the limits of absurdity,...

There's nothing quite like the holiday season to get us up from the desk and out around town. Last week's meetup was a phenomenal success, and in addition to cool schwag from The Guild, we also gave away tickets to last night's Digital Family Reunion. As one of the event's sponsors, we set-up a table to showcase our newest product, the Tubefilter Screening Room, and brought along a camera crew to capture all of the festivities. We rubbed elbows with a stellar line-up of web television creators including Taryn O'Neil of After Judgement, Hayden Black of Goodnight Burbank, Kristiina Hackel of Strike.TV's Speedie Date, Brock Laborde of Studio8, and Efren Toscano of TechZulu. We showed off our sneak peek of the Jenn2.0 trailer (which looks great!) and talked about the future of web television with a cross-section of SoCal's technology and media leaders. Earlier in the week we discussed TheWB.
