Agatha remains one of Marvel Studios' most intriguing upcoming projects, particularly with it serving as a follow-up to 2021's critically acclaimed WandaVision.
Nexus Point News has today shared new intel on the show's characters, starting with Joe Locke's Billy. They believe the plan is to reveal his true identity as the teenage son of Wanda Maximoff later in the series, making it a huge moment for non-comic book readers.
Aubrey Plaza is Rio Vidal, one of Agatha's antagonists, while Patti LuPone is Lilia Calderu, Sasheer Zamata is Jennifer Kale, and Ali Ahn is Alice Wu.
Miles Guiterrez-Riley, meanwhile, is said to be playing Eddie, Billy's boyfriend. Likely to disappoint fans is the fact it doesn't sound like he has any connection to Teddy Altman, a.k.a. Hulking. Perhaps we'll meet him down the line; then again, it could be that Bruce Banner's son first introduced in She-Hulk...

This article contains spoilers for X-Men ’97
X-Men ’97 has entered its final leg of episodes, igniting a war between mutants and human-sentinel hybrids created by Bastion. As the war kicks into high gear, fans are expecting to see a slew of omega-level and beyond-omega-level mutants enter the fray, along with other heroes who are sympathetic to the mutant cause.
X-Men as they appeared in Episode 1 of X-Men ’97
The war is expected to be on a massive scale, given the number of human-sentinel hybrids that Bastion has created in secret. However, the Mutants could have some of their own heavy hitters join the fray to fight for the mutant extinction, and Beau DeMayo, the creator and head writer on the show, could have hinted at one particular mutant that fans cannot wait to see.

Elizabeth Olsen has played the role of Wanda Maximoff a.k.a Scarlet Witch in the MCU since Avengers: Age of Ultron. From being a brainwashed member of Hydra to being one of the Og Avengers, the character has had an interesting arc in the MCU, which seemingly ended in 2022’s Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness.
However, Scarlet Witch had one of her most powerful and tragic moments in Avengers: Infinity War where she had to protect Vision, who possessed the Mind Stone, from the Black Order. While there are some amazing scenes with the actress in the film, fans seem to be annoyed at the MCU for deleting a pivotal sequence from the movie.

The buzz around Secret Wars is getting louder and louder every day, but the lack of updates is leaving fans hanging. However, there’s a glimmer of hope, Sam Raimi, the guy behind some of people’s favorite superhero movies, has hinted that he’s keen to direct if given the chance.

While all the fans are waiting for more news, there’s one idea that can rectify arguably what was one of the MCU’s biggest mistakes in recent years, the apparent death of Scarlet Witch. Killing her off felt like a big mistake, but now with Secret Wars on the horizon, there’s a chance to fix things. This could be the shake-up the MCU needs to get back on track.

Wanda was never just a character in the MCU. She started out a villain, became a hero, became a hero with a tragic backstory, lost everything, and circled back to being a villain until eventually becoming sort of a hero again by destroying Darkhold and supposedly taking her own life.
Now even the ending of ‘Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness’ was pretty open-ended, and the official statements on the matter really did nothing to answer the question – is Wanda still alive within the MCU?
Most fans, including me, believe that collapsing debris can’t really do much against Nexus being with such a Multiversal potential, after all, we’ve seen Wanda tanking far worse, so she will likely return. Recently, there’s been a few rumors circling that she is going to get her own standalone movie, even if that doesn’t happen, there are a few projects in which she could return,...

MCU series ‘WandaVision’, focusing on Wanda Maximoff and her journey after a significant loss, received praise for its unique storytelling and deep exploration of characters’ emotions. It was successful enough to spawn two spinoffs: ‘Agatha’, set to premiere on Disney+ later this year, and ‘Vision Quest’, whose release date is still uncertain.
Last year, the WGA Directory mentioned ‘Vision Quest’ was expected to come out during the 2024-2025 TV season. Many fans were excited about it, but due to the SAG-AFTRA strike, several projects, including this one, faced delays and cancellations.
Fortunately, ‘Vision Quest’ wasn’t scrapped like some other shows. Recent rumors suggest it might hit screens as soon as 2026. Now, a few weeks later, there are new reports about the show’s production.

The concept of the Multiverse, although introduced pretty early on in Phase 5 of the MCU, was properly and extensively explored in the 2022 MCU film Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, where alternate realities and other dimensions were elaborated in details.
But with new avenues also came new problems in terms of tackling them, and screenwriter Michael Waldron caught a case of writer’s block when he had to kill Blackbolt in the film.

But thankfully, filmmaker Sam Raimi was there to aid him with his quick and somewhat genius idea. When Waldron posed this problem to the director, he simply suggested he let Wanda take away his mouth since Blackbolt’s superpower was his voice. While it was pretty simple, it also took away from any major confrontation, which made it somewhat counterproductive for the fans to enjoy.

Doctor Doom is highly anticipated in the MCU, with fans long requesting his introduction to the cinematic universe. The latest rumors suggest Doom will be featured in the ‘Fantastic Four’ movie, but not as the main antagonist. Now, Alex Perez from Cosmic Circus shared a theory suggesting that Doctor Doom was originally intended to be a member of the Illuminati in ‘Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.’ This theory proposes that this was the studio’s initial concept for the character.

Elizabeth Olsen’s Scarlet Witch is one of the highlights of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, being a character with a major following in the fandom. However, as of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, the character was unceremoniously turned into a villain, and as far as the MCU is concerned, killed.

‘WandaVision,’ a popular Marvel series about Wanda Maximoff dealing with her loss, got a lot of love for its unique storytelling and digging into the characters’ feelings. It did so well that there are two new shows spinning off from it: ‘Agatha,’ coming to Disney+ soon, and ‘Vision Quest,’ which doesn’t have a release date yet.

The MCU has stayed separate from the Sony Spider-Man Universe, and the X-Men Fox/Marvel Universe has been doing its own thing long before Robert Downey put his suit on. When the character Riri Williams (played by Dominique Thorne) made her Marvel Cinematic Universe debut back in 2022’s Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, the idea was that we’d be seeing the character again the following year in her own Disney+ show Ironheart… but 2023 came and went without Ironheart, and the show still doesn’t have an official premiere date. This has caused some fans to speculate that Marvel and Disney+ might have decided to scrap Ironheart, along with the series Wonder Man, which had Yahya Abdul-Mateen II taking on the role of the title character, who is also known as Simon Williams and hasn’t been seen in the MCU yet. But no, Ironheart and Wonder Man are not being scrapped, and in a new interview with Agents of Fandom, Marvel Studios’ Head of Streaming, Television, and Animation Brad Winderbaum described the shows as spectacular, amazing, and different.

Many iconic characters have appeared in the Marvel Cinematic Universe ever since the release of Iron Man back in 2008. However, not many characters have been able to make as huge an impact on the franchise as Tony Stark has.

Even though he is considered one of the most intelligent characters in the Marvel Universe, it seems like Stark was allegedly too lazy to come up with a creative full form for Jarvis.
Tony Stark gave the most ridiculous full form to Jarvis
Despite being one of the most intelligent characters in multiple universes, Tony Stark was just too lazy to give a creative name to one of its most helpful AI, Jarvis. According to Marvel, Jarvis stands for ‘Just a Rather Very Intelligent System‘ which does not seem like much of a cool acronym for an AI system of its magnificent abilities.

Deadpool & Wolverine broke the internet with its first teaser, ushering in a new era of hype in the MCU, one that has not been seen since Avengers: Endgame. The first feature-length mutant project in the MCU, the film has a lot riding on it and also has a lot of speculation about what it is going to be.
A still from the trailer of Deadpool and Wolverine
One of the main attractions of the film is that it will introduce mutants in a major capacity in the MCU. While X-Men heavy hitters Quicksilver and Wanda Maximoff made their appearances way back in Avengers: Age of Ultron, they were referred to as ‘enhanced’ and not mutants. A new theory has emerged that Wade, through his shenanigans will retcon the origins of the Maximoff twins and make them full-fledged mutants in the MCU as well.

Ultron is one of the most nefarious and tricky foes the Avengers have had to deal with in the pages of Marvel Comics. However, the character was underutilized in his big-screen debut in 2015’s Avengers: Age of Ultron. The film’s climax sees the villainous AI disintegrated, leaving little room for Ultron’s return in future MCU projects.

Many godlike Avengers, including Doctor Strange, Scarlet Witch, Hulk, and Thor, are mentioned when fans argue over who is the most powerful character in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Sure, upon examining the physical attributes, fans may discover that the answer to this question is not as simple as they initially believed. There are other abilities besides brute force, magic, and energy blasts that can provide a hero with an edge during battle.
Having said that, Scott Lang, a.k.a. Ant-Man in the MCU, is a superhero who, with the use of Pym Particles, can shrink to the size of an ant while retaining his normal strength and durability. This means that he can outmaneuver his rivals and deliver punches with the force of a full-sized man. Not to mention, his ability to change size gives him an extra edge in battle.

Deadpool 3 has its official title: Deadpool & Wolverine. The first teaser trailer for the movie hit the internet during Super Bowl Lviii, giving superhero film fans their first glimpse at the wackiness it will offer.
One of the biggest reveals from the trailer was confirmation of the longstanding rumor that the Time Variance Authority would appear in the movie. The Time Variance Authority (or Tva for short) is the temporal enforcement organization seen in the Disney+ Loki series, which ensures time flows as it should in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Most people assume Deadpool and Wolverine will be tasked with killing rogue variants of live-action Marvel characters who deviated from the Sacred Timeline. However, a new theory by the YouTube channel New Rockstars suggests they’ll be tasked with fixing the lousy writing and plot holes in various live-action Marvel Studios and Fox superhero films.

An awful accident resulting in the death of a crew member has hit the production of the Marvel Studios series Wonder Man. According to Deadline, a rigger working at CBS Redford Studios fell off the rafters this morning and sadly passed away. The individual was not filming then, and an investigation is forthcoming.
A Marvel spokesperson for the Wonder Man production shared a statement on the studio’s behalf: “Our thoughts and deepest condolences are with his family and friends, and our support is behind the investigation into the circumstances of this accident.”
Wonder Man stars Yahya Abdul Mateen II as Simon Williams, aka Wonder Man. Lauren Glazier, Sir Ben Kingsley, and Stella Meghie also star.
Wonder Man is one of Marvel’s oldest characters, dating back to 1964 in the pages of Avengers #9. He began his comic book career as a villain but got reintroduced as a hero in the late 1970s.

He is Iron Man…and that was kind of the problem. By 2008, Robert Downey Jr. was giving it an admirable go at getting his career back on track. While A Scanner Darkly and Zodiac showed he was truly taking it seriously, it was Marvel’s Iron Man that made him blow up yet again. But there was only so far people would follow throughout his MCU journey, as Rdj recently opened up about how the stigma of comic book movies kept people from really appreciating his acting.
Appearing on Rob Lowe’s podcast (via People), Downey Jr. remembered, “I felt so exposed after being in the cocoon of Marvel where I think I did some of the best work I will ever do, but it went a little bit unnoticed because of the genre.” While it’s often the case that comedy movies go unnoticed when it comes to recognition of performance,...

The first Marvel / Disney+ series WandaVision is getting a collector’s edition Blu-ray release tomorrow (you can order a copy Here) – and apparently a featurette that offers a behind-the-scenes look at the spin-off / follow-up Agatha: Darkhold Diaries (which was formerly known as Agatha: House of Harkness and then Agatha: Coven of Chaos) is included in the extras! Agatha isn’t expected to start streaming on the Disney+ service until the early fall of 2024 – possibly on September 19, 2024 – so this featurette gets the marketing started quite early.

After the resolution of the historic SAG-AFTRA strike, numerous projects faced potential cancellations or indefinite delays, and the MCU experienced its share of setbacks. Rumors circulated about the possible cancellation of several projects among the 30-plus Marvel-based character developments in progress, spanning both the MCU and Ssu (Sony’s Spider-Man Universe). However, only a fraction of these projects have confirmed release dates.
Among the MCU ventures affected was WandaVision, originally anticipated to spawn various spinoffs. ‘Agatha: Coven of Chaos’ is the closest to fruition, set to premiere in September next year. Another project, Vision Quest, focusing on White Vision, is rumored to be a limited series alongside Wonder Woman.
Interestingly, there’s an additional project not officially confirmed— a series centered around Wiccan, Scarlet Witch’s teenage son inheriting her magical powers and a member of the Young Avengers. Back in February, Steven Yeun was announced to be joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe with a "key role" in "Thunderbolts." Now, thanks to Robert Kirkman, it's been confirmed what Yeun's role is: Robert Reynolds/The Sentry.
The Sentry is a relatively recent creation, debuting in 2000 and created by Paul Jenkins, Jae Lee, and Rick Veitch. He's one of the countless Superman clones across comics; he has the same powerset, the flowing cape and S-insignia, he gets his powers from the sun, and he even boasts the classic alliterative secret identity (think "Clark Kent").
However, Mr. Reynolds is not all good. Afflicted with a personality disorder since he got his powers, his archenemy -- the soul-devouring shadow "The Void" -- is Reynold's own alternate personality. "The Marvels" has finally hit theaters, and across the board, star Iman Vellani, who plays Kamala Khan, aka Ms. Marvel, has received well-deserved praise. You know, the "Iron Man" one where Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) recruits Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) for his Avengers Initiative? Not only does Kamala show up at Kate Bishop's (Hailee Steinfeld...
"The Marvels" has finally hit theaters, and across the board, star Iman Vellani, who plays Kamala Khan, aka Ms. Marvel, has received well-deserved praise. One just cannot look at her enthusiasm and joy and not smile. The film may be having a rough time at the box office, but if Vellani is the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, that future is bright. This article contains spoilers for Loki season 2, WandaVision, and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.
Trying to understand how time and the multiverse work in Marvel after Loki season 2 is headache-inducing, even for someone who has kept up with the MCU since its creation. Each project has had its own methods and means for introducing new characters and worlds from outside of the “Sacred Timeline,” but the season 2 finale sees them all come together somewhat as Loki (Tom Hiddleston) takes control of the Temporal Loom and its branches, forming a multiversal Yggdrasil.
But because Tva exists in a realm outside of time, it’s not clear when this climactic moment takes place in comparison to the events of WandaVision, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, Spider-Man: No Way Home, and now The Marvels. Does Loki become the guardian of the timeline before all of these multiversal stories? After?...

This far into the MCU, it can be hard to know and remember which projects connect to each other and how. Well, the good news about “The Marvels” is, you don’t need to know as much going in as you might for other projects.
In fact, at a base level, you only need to have seen three other MCU installments. And that’s because, though the movie is only a sequel, it brings together three characters. “The Marvels” unites Captain Marvel (Brie Larson), Monica Rambeau (Teyonah Parris) and Ms. Marvel (Iman Vellani) when their powers become entangled.
All three women have light-based powers, but don’t worry, Captain Rambeau will succinctly explain how their powers differ in the movie. We’re just here to get you prepped. So, here’s what you need to watch to understand what’s happening in “The Marvels.”

Three Marvels? In this economy? "The Marvels" (read /Film's review here) is technically a sequel to 2019's "Captain Marvel," a film which rewound the clock to 1995 -- a mythical time when Blockbuster stores adorned every other street corner and nobody had ever heard of that Iron Man fellow -- for a fairly standalone story revealing how Carol Danvers (Brie Larson) got her superpowers. But at the same time, it's also the 33rd (!) movie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and is arriving on the heels of no less than eight live-action Disney+ MCU shows, one animated series, and even a pair of holiday-themed streaming specials.
That's a whole lot of continuity to account for, so much so that even the creatives behind the MCU have found it increasingly difficult to keep track of everything lately while at the same time making sure every new installment is a satisfying viewing experience unto itself.
