This The Twilight Zone review contains spoilers.
The Twilight Zone Season 2 Episode 1
The things most people who have never seen The Twilight Zone know about The Twilight Zone are the endings.
One does not need to have watched any of the 156 episodes of the original Rod Serling-hosted run of the show to know what a black and white screenshot of a man holding a broken set of eye-glasses means. The same goes for the image of pig-faced nurses and doctors, and also the very concept of “To Serve Man.”
In “Meet in the Middle,” the first episode of the second season for CBS All Access’s modern reboot of The Twilight Zone, the show seems to be in search of a classic ending of its own. And to its credit, it gets pretty close. The conclusion of “Meet Me in the Middle” is satisfyingly twisty and upsetting while operating...

The Twilight Zone casts a long shadow over today’s film and TV. We salute the legacy left by Rod Serling’s seminal series…
“Damn near immortal” is how Stephen King described The Twilight Zone in his 1981 study of creepy fiction Danse Macabre, and who could argue with that. Like any decent horror monster, Rod Serling’s 1960s anthology series keeps coming back from the grave. Only last week it was announced that CBS is planning to resurrect its award-winning show once again. The new series will be the latest of several revivals over the decades, including an upcoming stage production set to enjoy its world premiere at London’s Almeida Theatre this December.

Rod Serling was born on Christmas Day. We look at "Night of the Meek," a holiday offering from the writer/creator of The Twilight Zone...
Rodman Edward Serling (1924-1975), the creator and head writer of the legendary science fiction/fantasy/horror anthology TV series The Twilight Zone, was born in Syracuse, New York (but raised downstate in Binghamton), on Christmas Day.
Though raised Jewish, and, according to his daughter Anne Serling, “fiercely proud of his heritage,” Serling’s wife, Carol, was Unitarian, and her husband came to share her liking for Unitarianism’s “free thinking, the permission to believe what one wants.”
Yet Rod Serling, like a lot of American Jews who suffer from annual Christmas-envy, loved and celebrated the holiday more as a secular/spiritual American holiday (like Thanksgiving), and mostly for what he called “the wondrous magic” of Christmas.
As a writer for radio in the early 1950s in Cincinnati,...

You have crossed over into a dimension of perfect TV. The annual Twilight Zone New Year's Eve Marathon is here. We look at how it all began.
It's a New Year’s Eve tradition that has outlasted Dick Clark, and like the ball dropping in Times Square, as eagerly anticipated...by Twilight Zone fans, that is!
The New Year’s Eve Twilight Zone Marathon on Syfy (where it has been running the past couple of years after several decades on regional syndicated stations), kicks off on December 31st and runs until January 2nd at 4 am. If you're looking for favorite episodes, the full schedule can be found here.
Twilight Zone fans tend to break down the series’ 156 episodes into “good ones” and “bad ones,” the inevitable wheat/chaff ratio resulting from churning out any weekly television series (and an anthology one at that), a format Serling honed...

We told you last month about the PBS special presentation Superheroes: A Never-Ending Battle that would be premiering in October, and tonight’s the night! Tuesday nights are pretty jam-packed for Our Kind of Viewing, but this one looks like it should get some priority.
We have a TV spot and the clip from the first hour to get you primed, and the press release is included again below so you’ll get the full details, including the info on the accompanying book and Blu-ray.
Here’s a quick scheduling note: After the initial broadcast the three hours are broken into three one-hour parts and have slightly different titles, though at least in my area they will still be aired one right after the other. So if you’re thinking of DVR-ing it, check the titles and time carefully so you don’t miss out on any of the three hours.

Over a quarter century later, the inaugural entry into The X-Files still stands the test of time.
A car powers through a looming darkness as a chorus of critters clashes against the onset of steady rain. Inside the vehicle, newly acquainted FBI agents Fox Mulder and Dana Scully are blazing a trail out in no-man’s land, a long stretch of road that cuts through a dense Oregon forest. Mulder looks down at his watch. 9:03. He peeks down again, this time at his compass. It’s spinning out of control. Suddenly a burst of light comes over the car, temporarily shutting down its engine. Mulder tries to accelerate. Nothing. He checks his watch. 9:12. Nine seconds, missing.
These government officials, reclassified as glorified ghost hunters, end up stranded in the same spot where just hours earlier, in broad daylight, the numbers on the radio sputtered in a noisy panic.

Comic-Con International has released the full schedule for Sunday July 24th for San Diego Comic-Con 2011. This is the final day of the convention. Sunday is known as Kids day and is usually the slowest of all the days, there are a few surprises though. In all my years of going to Comic-Con I've never been to a panel in Hal H. Usually nothing is happening in Hall H on Sunday, this year there are a few TV programs going on in Hall H such a as Glee, Supernatural, Doctor Who, The Cleveland Show, Sons of Anarchy, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, and this year Buffy the Musical will be in the great Hall as well. I've never been to the Buffy Musical event, and I think I finally want to go this year. A couple of other things worth noting are a one on one panel with Nathan Fillion, and Max Brooks talks about zombies.

This Friday marks the 50th anniversary of one of the greatest shows in the history of television, certainly the program furthest ahead of its own time. And as The Twilight Zone rings in the big five-oh, there are events planned to commemorate the big day and to remember one of the most significant moments in television and science fiction, if not 20th century popular culture.
We've already written about the happenings this weekend at Ithaca College in New York, where series creator Rod Serling taught in his later years and where a massive amount of his work during his most fertile period is collected. Also taking place over the weekend is The Twilight Zone Forever, hosted by scholar and "Twilight Zone geek" Arlen Schumer at The Times Center in New York City.
So if you're in New York this Friday, it all starts at 7:30. It's being described as a multimedia visualecture by Mr.
