Despite the fact that not one, but two of the show’s four central couples have split up recently, Bravo has renewed “The Valley” for a second season. And yes, the full cast is expected to be back — even those who seem to be heading toward divorce.
“The Valley” — years in the making — premiered on Bravo on March 19, in the Tuesday timeslot after “Vanderpump Rules,” its progenitor. In the announcement, part of a broader set of renewals made by parent company NBCUniversal, the company called the show “its most-watched freshman series in nearly a decade.”
“The Valley” is led by former “Vanderpump Rules” stars Jax Taylor and his now-estranged wife Brittany Cartwright, along with Kristen Doute, all of whom were jettisoned from the mothership in 2020, after the show’s disastrous eighth season, when Doute’s and Taylor’s past misdeeds (of the racist kind) made them too toxic to employ.

Jamie Foxx is returning to Fox’s game show Beat Shazam after missing the show’s most recent season following a health scare.
The network announced Monday that Foxx and daughter Corinne will resume hosting duties on the music-based game show, whose seventh season premieres May 28. After a medical issue during filming of Netflix’s movie Back in Action in April 2023, Foxx was hospitalized and underwent a long recovery process.
Foxx hasn’t disclosed the nature of the medical issue, but in his first public appearance since then — at a Critics Choice Association event in December — he hinted at some serious effects: “I couldn’t do that six months ago, I couldn’t actually walk to [the stage],” he said at the time. He also joked that “I saw the tunnel, I didn’t see the light. It was hot in that tunnel too — I don’t know where I was going.

Bravo is continuing to expand its Vanderpump Rules universe following the long-running show hitting series-high ratings last year amid the Scandoval controversy.
The Valley is officially a go at Bravo, with the unscripted Vanderpump Rules spinoff set to debut this spring on a yet-to-be-announced premiere date. Exclusive: Earlier this morning, Amazon revealed that it was laying off several hundred employees across Prime Video and Amazon Studios as part of a review of its business.
Details have emerged about the cuts, which were described by one source close to the company as a “bloodbath”. Senior execs let go include Nancy Cotton, Arturo Interian, Marcy Kaplan, Chris Castallo and Uri Fleming across different divisions.
Most of the exits are a result of the integration of Lindsay Sloane’s MGM Scripted Television team alongside MGM+ and the Barry Poznick-led MGM Alternative TV under Chris Brearton, VP, Corporate Strategy, Prime Video and Studios. Sloane and Poznick’s teams will continue to work closely with the studios teams in developing for Prime Video and also will continue to produce for outside networks and streamers.

“Act Your Age” earns another win for Alyson Fouse and Bounce TV.

Thus, making it the most-watched half-hour series launch in Bounce history.
The initial airing was also pushed with a special presentation on Bounce’s sister network, Ion.
“It’s the storytelling. It’s wonderful and I think there needs to be something said about how it really well represents black women in America today. Kym Whitley, Tisha Campbell and Yvette Nicole Brown are set to star in “Act Your Age,” a multi-camera comedy series from MGM Television that is expected to premiere on Bounce in the spring.
Bounce, the digital multicast and streaming channel that targets Black viewers, has given the series a 16-episode order. It’s the third original scripted comedy series scheduled to join the Bounce lineup, on the heels of “Johnson” and “Finding Happy.” The show is also a notable new piece of business for MGM Television since the studio was acquired by Amazon earlier this year.
“Act Your Age” reads like a “Golden Girls”-esque ensemble for a new era. Whitley plays Bernadette, a successful, no-nonsense real estate developer. Campbell plays Keisha, described as “the wild card of the group who is always up to something.” Brown, who is billed as a special guest star, plays Angela, the former First Lady of Norfolk,...

MGM TV head Mark Burnett — the prolific producer behind reality show staples such as “The Apprentice,” “Shark Tank,” and “Survivor” — is teaming with CNBC for a new unscripted prime-time series aimed at anyone who dreams of owning their own business.
“Business Hunters,” set to debut this fall, features aspiring entrepreneurs who leave the comfort and safety of their day jobs to take a chance on themselves by buying a business. The MGM series arrives as American employers have seen unprecedented resignation levels throughout the pandemic as workers wrestle back the power from their bosses.
“I love this format. I’ve lived it! The idea of betting on yourself is the American dream,” said Burnett, who serves as chairman of worldwide television at MGM. “This will be unlike any show I’ve ever done in the business space, because for the first time, the buyers are everyday people, just like the viewer at home.

Amazon’s Prime Video is shaking (not stirring) up the reality TV space with James Bond–inspired reality competition series “007’s Road to a Million.”
The international race will span eight episodes with contestants vying to win £1 million — or $1.3 million — in cash. Applications are now open, with production slated to begin later this year, as Variety reported.
The project has reportedly been in the works at Prime Video for approximately four years, prior to Amazon purchasing James Bond studio MGM in an $8.5 billion deal that was finalized earlier this month.
“007’s Road to a Million” will be produced by Britain’s 72 Films and Bond producers Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson, along with MGM Television’s Mark Burnett and Barry Poznick. The series is set to be filmed in a “cinematic format” along historic sites featured throughout the Bond franchise as competitors undergo tests of intelligence and endurance, per Variety.

The world of James Bond is hitting the streaming world a lot sooner than you’d think.
Amazon’s Prime Video has greenlit its first TV show based on the iconic British spy with “007’s Road to a Million,” a Bond-style spin on a race around the world.
The eight-part series will be produced by Britain’s 72 Films and Bond guardians and producers Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson, along with MGM Television.
Sources tell Variety that the project has been in the works at Prime Video for around four years, long before the MGM deal was finalized, and it sits separately to any shows that are yet to come out of the pact. The e-commerce giant closed its $8.5 billion deal for MGM last week, with the James Bond franchise believed to be a powerful driving force behind the acquisition.

Friday night was coming up fives in primetime for the major networks, as five – count ’em – five shows tied for the top demo mark on the evening.
The CBS crime drama lineup was the king of Friday night, as Swat, Magnum Pi, and Blue Bloods all came in with an 0.5 rating in the 8 Pm to 11 Pm span. Blue Bloods also had the highest overall total viewership at – you guessed it – 5.90 million.
Not to be outdone, ABC’s Shark Tank also came in with an 0.5 on the night. Its trailing 20/20 newsmag had an 0.3 for its examination of the Rust on-set shooting incident, a program that included more of George Stephanopoulos’ exclusive talk with Alec Baldwin from last week. But the real point of the show was the featured analysis, which included by Deadline’s own Dominic Patten and former editor Anita Busch.
Also scoring an 0.5 on the night was Fox’s WWE Friday Night SmackDown,...
