Kevin Nash has confirmed that he’ll be appearing in WWE 2K15 as Diesel. The former WWF and WCW was speaking as part of a Q and A session, where he also offered his opinions on the WWE Hall Of Fame, Roman Reigns and Randy Savage.
Nash’s 2K15 comments were the most revelatory. The roster is meant to be under wraps until 2K’s ‘Reveal’ this weekend. Disregarding this, Nash confirmed the Diesel character will be in the game. He stated that Jay Lethal of all people has been filming all of Diesel’s movements for the graphics.
The discussion moved on to the WWE Hall Of Fame. Nash said that he would refuse to be inducted as Diesel, he’d only go in as himself. This follows the unusual induction of Scott Hall earlier this year, who went into the Hof as Razor Ramon, despite...

As the owner of a multi-billion dollar sports-entertainment empire, Vince McMahon should be focused on putting his talent in the best positions for them to succeed. After all, it is in his best interest for his Superstars and Divas to be taken seriously by the public at large if he is to market and merchandise them on a large scale. How can they possibly lead his company if the men, women and children in the audience do not respect them? It is a question many find themselves asking after every humiliating task endured by a Superstar, Diva or other on-screen personality.
Truth is, McMahon has a very long history of creating humiliating circumstances for his performers. Announcers have been slathered in barbecue sauce and had their heads literally pulled from their asses. Divas have repeatedly had their weight called into question and various substances poured over them. Wrestlers...

Many wrestling fans will point to WrestleMania X as the birth of the ladder match in professional wrestling, and many wrestling fans would be absolutely wrong with that assertion. Not only was the famous WrestleMania X ladder match between Shawn Michaels and Razor Ramon not the first ladder match in wrestling history, it wasn’t even the first ladder match in WWF/WWE history. That honor went to Bret Hart and Shawn Michaels, who competed in a ladder match in 1992 that was filmed for release exclusively on home video. As Hart tells the story, he came to Vince McMahon with the idea of doing a ladder match, as he had competed in them in Stampede Wrestling early on his career. Vince was not familiar with this type of match, so Bret and Shawn went out to show Vince what kind of match a ladder match could be.

Wrestlemania is the biggest wrestling event of the year, or that is what the WWE want you to believe at least. Wrestlemania XXX was billed as a huge event, especially as this was the shows 30th anniversary of the show, fans expected something special and WWE in many ways had something to prove, the big question is did they get it right?
Wrestling fans can be the hardest to please at times, but I’d say that Wrestlemania XXX managed to deliver for them. Starting off with Hulk Hogan, Stonecold Steve Austin and The Rock hyping up the show it was a special moment, something that would be hard to top. Getting past the nostalgia moment, it was obviously Daniel Bryan’s night, wrestling twice in scenes reminiscent of Bret Hart’s Wrestlemania 10 battles his war against the Authority was destined to end only one way. The highlights of the...

It’s been an incredible year for former WWE superstar Scott Hall, who portrayed the Razor Ramon character in the mid 1990s in WWE. He was a four time Intercontinental Champion that is also considered one of the best wrestlers ever that never became a WWE World Champion. This past April, Hall was honored for his achievements in WWE when he was inducted into the 2014 Hall of Fame.
Hall’s induction into the Hall of Fame was something that a lot of people thought would never happen due to his struggles with drugs and alcohol over the years. When wrestling fans think of performers that have had alcohol issues, Hall is one of the first names that comes to mind. It’s been well documented over the years, but thankfully he was able to clean his life up thanks to Diamond Dallas Page and his yoga program. Since...

There are some things in life that you never imagine even in your wildest dreams that you'll end up doing. Sitting in a small theatre in London with 400 like minded fans listening to Shawn Michaels talk was definitely one of those things for me, but this last week my good lady wife Deborah (who also took the pictures accompanying this column) and I ended up doing just that.
We'd been to see the Wolf Pac last year and thoroughly enjoyed an evening of banter between Kevin Nash, Sean Waltman and Scott Hall (aka Diesel, X-Pac and Razor Ramon) once the initial poor organisation woes were overcome, but will all due respect to these three guys, this was Shawn Michaels, the Heart Break Kid. This was Mr Wrestlemania!

The WWE’s success is down to way beyond the characters you see on Monday Night Raw. In a company that employs over 700 people, there’s various talent working quietly behind the scenes. It might come as quite a shock, but various people you thought no longer had involvement in WWE, are in fact under pay-roll and working behind the scenes.
The duties of these former big stars now include training the next generation, instructing the current crop of wrestlers, and ambassadorial work representing the brand. It’s a good gig if you can get it, working for WWE is always better than working against it. The wrestling industry is pretty much a monopoly for WWE, so in most cases, when you’re done as a wrestler, the money and lifestyle vanish.

Pity the fool who doesn’t respect Mr. T’s mama.
The actor was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame on Saturday, honored for a wrestling career that began in 1985, when he became Hulk Hogan’s tag-team partner at the very first WrestleMania. The A-Team star used the opportunity to thank — repeatedly, and at length — his mother for her love and support. Here’s a brief clip from his acceptance speech:
“Now, my story and background is not that unique. My upbringing is not so different from many others,” said Mr. T, whose mother raised him and his 11 siblings by herself.

The iconic ladder match between Shawn Michaels & Razor Ramon at Wrestlemania 10 is celebrating its 20th anniversary (yes, it has been that long) this year. The ladder match is now one of WWE’s most spectacular and popular match styles, and over the years, ladder matches have created some of the most incredible in-ring moments ever seen. Plenty of stars have made their careers based on ladder match appearances, and these days winning the Money in the Bank ladder match is a significant achievement.
Despite 20 years of competition, Shawn Michaels vs. Razor Ramon still remains as not only one of the best Wrestlemania matches ever, but the greatest ladder match of all time as well.
Everything about the match made it still the most memorable in history – including its build-up, action, impact, and future legacy; and despite the fact that there’s been dozens more, none seem to have...

On May 23rd, 1999 Owen Hart was dressed as the Blue Blazer and suspended nearly 80 feet above the ring by a cable that would lower him down for his match. Somehow, his release opened and he fell tragically to his death, hitting the ropes before collapsing back in the ring. It was a horrific and sad night, compounded by the fact the PPV continued even as Owen was rushed in vain to the hospital. He would be pronounced dead that night.
Every year around WrestleMania time wrestling fans will start buzzing about Owen Hart and the WWE Hall of Fame. Many feel that Owen Hart should finally be inducted with the likes of former greats like Hulk Hogan, Andre the Giant, and even his own brother Bret. Many feel that he would be at home with this year’s class including Razor Ramon, Jake “The Snake” Roberts, and Lita.

In 1992, a brash new bad guy entered World Wrestling Entertainment and wasted little time making an impact. Known as Razor Ramon, he would align himself with Ric Flair in the Nature Boy’s rivalry with “Macho Man” Randy Savage. His matches with Savage, Bret Hart, Mr. Perfect and the 123 Kid established him as a fine in-ring performer and his character (and the conviction with which he was portrayed) set him apart from the other more goofy gimmicks of the time.
The machismo that he exuded led to Ramon becoming a fan favorite and one of the marquee stars in Vince McMahon’s promotion. A leader of the New Generation initiative, Ramon battled Shawn Michaels in classic contests including WrestleMania X’s epic ladder match.

Wrestling Observer Radio reports that WWE hope to induct The Rock into the WWE Hall of Fame 2015 class.
There had been some rumours that the reason Scott Hall is being inducted as ‘Razor Ramon’ this year is because he will have his WCW legacy honoured next year as part of a Nwo induction. This now seems unlikely, Hogan, Nash and Hall aren’t going to want to play co-main event to The Rock. The Nwo are big enough to headline the Hall of Fame in their own right, so a 2016 induction will be more probable if The Rock is focused on next year.
The Rock is certainly an outstanding success story. If ever a man deserved a Hall of Fame spot it’s Dwayne Johnson, his charismatic promos and exciting match style led the WWF to new heights in the Attitude Era.

Previously on: The big advancement toward "Wrestlemania" was the masterful attack of Daniel Bryan by Triple H. It was truly one of the best moments of buildup for the big show we've seen yet. There wasn't a ton else to note last week. The Shield are babyfaces now, though. So it looks like their breakup is on the backburner. It's probably a good idea, that unit is just to good to separate.
The big news: After now appearing on "WWE Raw" last week, The Undertaker was in the house. It was the first time this year he brought out the old druid and coffin gimmick the character is known for. It all followed Heyman and Lesnar in the ring, talking about how Undertaker's days were numbered.
Unfortunately, Taker did exactly what he's already done: Beat down Lesnar. Everyone knows Brock is going to lose at "Wrestlemania," but WWE needs...

The announcement is expected on WWE Monday Night Raw from Brooklyn tonight, though the reveal has been confirmed early by the following newspaper advert;
A report from PWInsider suggests that the current plan is for members of The Kliq to induct Hall. That infamous group included Shawn Michaels, Triple H, Kevin Nash and Sean Waltman (X-Pac). No word if all of them will present Hall or if it will be just one of them. If it was one of them, Nash appears to be the most likely since he two formed the Outsiders together. However, if all...

Mr Wrestlemania. That‘s a very bold claim for anybody to make, but if there’s one wrestler who can legitimately lay claim to this lofty title then it’s Shawn Michaels. Not only is he possibly the most consistently entertaining performer that the WWE has ever had, but he’s also the closest thing that the wrestling industry has had to a true rock star.
Never one to toe the line, Michaels has lived his bad boy persona in and out of the ring for the better part of three decades, a story that has been well documented in his 2006 autobiography Heartbreak and Triumph and the 2008 WWE DVD release of the same name. His in ring exploits have been similarly well documented in a number of retrospective collections over the last few years, but far from Shawn Michaels - Mr Wrestlemania being surplus to requirements, this is perhaps the...

These are among of the most classic pairings in history. When you think of someone like Randy Savage, you can’t help but think of his lovely valet. When you think of Arn Anderson, you’ll naturally think of Flair.
But when you think of The Undertaker do you automatically think of his ex-wife Sara? When you talk about Scott Steiner does Stacy Keibler naturally follow next in the conversation? Some people have no business being together in wrestling. This is usually due to the fact that they have no chemistry. It’s two people that are forced to team up, but only end up being detrimental to each other’s careers.

We are fast approaching the 30th annual WrestleMania event and it is the time of year when many wrestling fans look back on the famous event and revisit the moments that, for whatever reason, were memorable to them. Through the years there have been plenty of memorable moments at WrestleMania and dozens of wrestlers have carved themselves into the tree-bark of history with their performance on the grandest stage in professional wrestling. One of those wrestlers, of course, is the man who called himself “The Heartbreak Kid” and was labelled by fans and critics alike as “Mr WrestleMania”. That man is Shawn Michaels, and this DVD/Blu-ray package is about his legacy on WWE’s main stage.

I don't think there are many people these days that still believe that the WWE is anything but a soap opera with brilliantly choreographed fight scenes performed by professional stuntmen, and I say this with great affection (I do write a WWE column after all), but one thing that has been sadly lacking in recent years is a wrestler with a killer character.
When I first started watching wrestling, way back in the early 1990s I was initially drawn in by the players in this violent pantomime. Wrestlers like Undertaker, Ted 'Million Dollar Man' Dibiase, Razor Ramon, Bret 'Hitman' Hart, 'Heartbreak Kid' Shawn Michaels, and Irwin R Shyster - better known as IRS and father to the man I'm about to discuss – were larger than life and made me sit up and pay attention whenever their music played and they made their way to the ring.

Scott Hall is one of wrestling’s most polarizing and controversial figures. While he’s beloved by many fans for his admirable contributions to the business of professional wrestling during his almost 30 year career, he’s quite possibly more famous for his exploits outside the ring.
The former Razor Ramon spent the majority of his life struggling with the proverbial “personal demons”. The nature of his profession has put his public life under a microscope and fans have been privy to many of his struggles with drugs and alcohol. Hall himself, however, blames no one but himself and has accepted complete responsibility for his actions.
The last 12 months have been an incredible journey for “The Bad Guy”. Hall’s close friend, former wrestler, shameless self-promoter and high-fiver and pioneer of Ddp Yoga, “Diamond” Dallas Page welcomed him into his home to attempt to work the same miracles on Hall that he did with Jake Roberts.

The WWE Intercontinental Title has been in existence since it was given to Pat Patterson in September of 1979. They like to say that he won a tournament, but that’s more of a “wink wink” type of deal because the tournament didn’t even happen.
Over the years, the Ic Title has gone from a very valuable prize from the mid 1980s when Randy Savage was holding it until the mid 1990s or so when guys like Razor Ramon and Shawn Michaels were putting their bodies on the line in ladder matches.
Once we got to the 2000s, the value of the title decreased significantly. There was even a point in October 2002 when Triple H unified the Ic Title with the World Title simply because WWE realized they weren’t booking the Ic Title well.
In 2003, they brought the Ic Title back because they probably realized that midcarders need something to fight for.

Speculation is running rampant online that Scott Hall could be in line for a possible WWE Hall Of Fame induction this year.
There had been talks in recent weeks that Hall might be in line for a surprise induction this year but when the big three inductees were announced, it didn’t look likely there would be room for the former Razor Ramon in this class.
However a new rumour started yesterday when Hall recently received a “verified” mark on Twitter, as did the three so far confirmed names for induction this year; The Ultimate Warrior, Jake “The Snake” Roberts and Lita.
Hall himself further added fuel to the speculation by tweeting the following;
“Me @JakeSnakeDDT and @AmyDumas all verified at the same time. Hmmm….”
“Add @UltimateWarrior to that same list…hmmm”
Is that enough to warrant the speculation that an induction is pending? I’ll let you decide!

However a new rumour started yesterday when Hall recently received a “verified” mark on Twitter, as did the three so far confirmed names for induction this year; The Ultimate Warrior, Jake “The Snake” Roberts and Lita.
Hall himself further added fuel to the speculation by tweeting the following;
“Me @JakeSnakeDDT and @AmyDumas all verified at the same time. Hmmm….”
“Add @UltimateWarrior to that same list…hmmm”
Is that enough to warrant the speculation that an induction is pending? I’ll let you decide!
Hall,...

John Cena and Randy Orton are headed for a showdown of epic proportions at WWE’s TLC pay-per-view on December 15. The match will pit the long time rivals in a match that will unify Cena’s World Championship and Orton’s WWE Championship. While the WWE faithful anticipate this match and debate just who will walk away withe the newly unified title, I for one am considering the possible fate of another title in the company.
That title is the Intercontinental Championship, a belt that I believe will be reinvigorated by the World Championship’s removal.
The title dates back to 1979, when Pat Patterson became the first champion. And during the belt’s 34 year history, WWE has never let the fans forget its importance not only to the company but around the world. It’s a mantra that has been repeated so many times over the years and by now,...

The History of WWE: 50 Years of Sports Entertainment begins with Vince McMahon getting out of his car at WWE headquarters in Connecticut and greeting employees as he makes his way to his office on the top floor of what was once known as TitanTowers.
The documentary portion of this release begins at the beginning, with information about Jess McMahon and Vince McMahon Sr, and how they began what we now know as WWE. Jess McMahon was a boxing promoter, his son Vince, turned it into a traditional regional professional wrestling promotion, and his son, the current head of WWE, Vince McMahon Jr, turned it into the multimedia conglomerate that we know today.
The talking heads are extremely relevant and well picked, it is nice to see the big names from wrestling’s history on here, talking about the history of WWE as a company and the wrestling business as a whole.

Former WWE and WCW wrestler Jake ‘The Snake’ Roberts has told Black Man Inc that he would be interested in buying Tna Impact Wrestling if it is in fact for sale and that he would be a legit rival for Vince McMahon and the WWE.
Roberts, who has recently moved out of Diamond Dallas Page’s Accountability Crib where he was being treated alongside fellow former WWE star Scott ‘Razor Ramon’ Hall for issues pertaining to substance abuse, was being interviewed about his new attitude on life since sobering up as well as his intentions to win a spot in the 2014 Royal Rumble next January. When talk turned to the news that Tna – where Roberts once worked – was allegedly coming up for sale Roberts had the following comments to make:
“God, it needs to. I mean, I watched for 10, 12, 15 years, however long it’s been out there and they suck.

First off I would like to apologise if this in any way offends or is intrusive or inappropriate, but I feel that I need to make a statement about the up and coming WWE Hall of Fame ceremony, specifically the impending induction of your brother and fellow legend, Randy “Macho Man” Savage. But of course, before I truly begin, let me just mark out a little and say I am also a big fan of yours as well.
My childhood was spent growing up in my parents’ “pub” within the geographical isolation that can be the Australian Outback. I obviously won’t be going into too many specifics today, as it may make some of our readers uncomfortable, but I will say that due to the abusive nature, both physical and mental, it was “unpleasant” to say the very least.
Fortunately though, I grew up in a somewhat enriched environment...

WWE and 2K Games have finally made the long-awaited roster announcement for their upcoming WWE 2K14 video game, boasting a surprisingly beefy line-up of over 80 superstars. In addition to the 30 Years of WrestleMania roster already announced, we were given a full list of the WWE Superstars and Divas who would be filling out 2K Games’ first time publishing a wrestling game (albeit still with the same developers as before, Yukes).
It’s safe to say that, as in every year, there are a few notable omissions from the roster – Curtis Axel, Rob Van Dam, Big E. Langston, The Usos, Fandango, and the Wyatt Family are conspicuously absent, while the likes of David Otunga somehow make the cut… – yet we can keep our fingers crossed that they might show up in Dlc somewhere down the line (though developers have already stated on Twitter that the Wyatts will 100% not be Dlc, because...

The first WWE videogame since Thq’s demise and 2K Sports’ gain is a little over a month away and the entire roster has finally been unveiled. A chunk of WWE 2K14‘s roster for the “30 Years of WrestleMania” mode was revealed earlier this year during the summer, which included legends and wrestlers we haven’t seen in a WWE game in a number a years.
Below is the entire WWE 2K14 roster featuring current and legendary wrestlers. It could be one of the most impressive wrestling game rosters in the past few years.
Aj Lee Aksana Brodus Clay Christian Cody Rhodes Damien Sandow David Otunga Dean Ambrose Drew McIntyre Eddie Guerrero Heath Slater Jack Swagger Jinder Mahal Justin Gabriel Kaitlyn Kane Kofi Kingston Layla Lita Mark Henry Mr. McMahon Natalya R-Truth Roman Reigns Santino Marella Seth Rollins Sheamus Sin Cara Stephanie McMahon Tensai The Great Khali Titus O’Neil...

The Best of WWE at Madison Square Garden is an interesting release from WWE and it’s nice to see them going into the massive video library at their disposal and putting together a compilation of matches and segments that is a little different to the usual things they put out.
The DVD is on three discs and the Blu-ray, which I will be reviewing, is on two discs. The quality of the picture improves as the matches progress, with earlier matches from the 1970’s being a mixed bag in quality of sound, picture and match content. We see early matches with the likes of Bruno Sammartino, The Iron Sheik, Bob Backlund and Billy Graham which vary in terms of entertainment value but are good to see as a history lesson. The Sheik/Slaughter boot-camp brawl is a fun watch but I imagine many of today’s casual wrestling fans...

The release of WWE 2K14, the first game to be published by 2k Sports following their acquisition of the WWE license from Thq, isn’t too far away now. Their input is welcomed given the excellence of other games in the 2K sports series, and will perhaps take the series in a new direction following several years of releases that have all been somewhat samey in terms of gameplay.
The WWE itself is also undergoing something of a transition at the moment, and one of the most notable things to have occurred over the past few years is the actions that the company has taken in an attempt to mend broken bridges with several significant figures from its past – Bret Hart returned to television in 2010 thirteen years after the infamous Montreal Screwjob, Ecw founder Paul Heyman returned to the fold last year following his firing in 2006, the legendary Bruno Sammartino...

Last weekend the WWE held its annual Summerslam event, one of the largest pay per view events of the year. As part of the build up to the event, the WWE held a cross-promotion for the upcoming WWE 2K14 video game that highlighted the “30 years of Wrestlemania” focus within the game.
Naturally, within this announcement the initial roster for the game was revealed, continuing the trend of including both current and former WWE superstars. While the usual suspects are around with The Rock, Triple H and John Cena included, there were a few surprises with the inclusion of Yokozuna and Razor Ramon.
Right now, it seems the roster is only accommodating those who will feature within the single player experience, hence the “30 Years of Wrestlemania” slogan, with the remainder of the WWE superstars to be revealed at a later date. The most obvious future inclusions will be current WWE superstars...

Last week we mentioned WWE 2K14's upcoming main attraction; the 30 Years Of Wrestlemania Mode will allow players to experience the greatest match ups that have taken place in the self-professed "showcase of the immortals".
Only a small handful of characters were revealed initially, and the rest were promised to follow. Which took place yesterday, during TwitchTV's SummerSlam livestream. Did anyone catch the show, by the way? Lesnar vs. Punk is clearly a match of the year contender.
Anyhow, here's the entire line-up, courtesy of Polygon:

I’m here live in Los Angeles for the SummerSlam weekend of festivities, and although at time of writing we’re still several hours away from the big show itself the weekend has been anything but short of big news and even controversies heading into the WWE’s second biggest pay per view of the year. As has become the tradition before some of the WWE pay per views this weekend started with WWE SummerSlam Fan Axxess, an event which allows members of the WWE Universe to get up close to some of the Divas and Superstars of the WWE, with highlights being in ring matches from the stars of Nxt and in ring promos from the likes of Paul Heyman.
One of standards of the SummerSlam Axxess event is the focus and promotional highlighting of the new WWE games that come out each year, with Jim Ross and Jerry...

What’s a stable? A stable is when wrestlers form a group and come together as one. There are many names for it besides a stable. Some may call it a group, a faction, or even a gang. Call it whatever you’d like, stables are just cool.
Wrestling always seems to be more fun when there are stables around. It’s no coincidence that the 90′s were wrestling’s pinnacle both as a sport and for stables. Every wrestler knew the better stable they were in, the better off they were for the long haul of their career. Being in a stable can be a career saver for some but for others, it’s what catapults them into super stardom.
These days stables almost seem to be a lost art and a thing of the past but with groups like The Shield (too new to make the list), The Aces and Eights,...

Back in 1995, the WWF was offering five PPVs – Rumble, WrestleMania, Kotr, Summerslam and Survivor Series – at $30 apiece. The idea behind the concept was that a shorter (2 hours compared to 3) and cheaper ($15 to start with) PPVs in months without a major event would give them an edge over the increasing WCW threat.
You may notice that the earliest PPV included was in February ’97, despite the first event being held almost two years prior. The problem was that, although some of the main events were exceptional, the overall cards were poor because the WWF didn’t have a brilliant roster. The fact that the WWF seemed obsessed with stipulations at the time didn’t help – Razor Ramon vs. 1-2-3 Kid in a Cry-baby Match comes to mind.
Iyh: Mind Games is a perfect example. Shawn Michaels defended the WWF Championship against Mankind, in a brilliant thirty minute bout. While the main event was excellent,...

Anyway, the title of the article suggests that I will, in fact, be playing the Devil’s Advocate in regards to a number of topics within the world of professional wrestling. Former Dx member Sean ‘X Pac’ Waltman has revealed he’s back under a WWE contract after signing a Legends deal.
Waltman wrote on his Twitter:
“I’m proud to be able to announce that I just received the executed copy of my WWE Legends Contract moments ago, I’m humbled by this honor.”
Waltman joined the WWE back in the early 1990s and famously feuded with Razor Ramon as The 1-2-3 Kid. When Razor (real name Scott Hall) left for WCW with Kevin Nash, Waltman was granted his release also and became an early member of the New World Order. He would return to the WWE in time and played an integral role as a member of Dx.
Since leaving WWE in August 2002, Waltman has appeared in Tna, Xpw and the Nwa but hasn’t come close to matching his successes in WWE.

I think I’ve made it perfectly clear how I feel about the Royal Rumble PPV. So imagine my surprise when this week’s Monday Night Raw turned out to have some pretty good moments – moments that would have been quite useful in the lead up to the Rumble.
Cm Punk’s opening ‘promo’ (if you can call it that) was absolutely perfect. Punk reacted exactly how a heel of his stature should react after losing the championship in what he truly believes was a shady manner. What made this segment even better was that you truly believed that Punk believed every word he was saying. How was this guy ever a babyface? He is the best heel the company has seen in a very, very long time and should remain so until his career ends. No tweener role. No anti-hero middle ground. Just straight up heel all the way.
