The Alien Report: "The Alien Report follows "The Abductee" (Braxton Hale), an everyday American who finds himself hijacked by extraterrestrial beings and taken on a terrifying journey of self-preservation, running afoul of classic "grey aliens", disturbing human-et hybrids, and the U.S. government's shady Men in Black. Based on countless documented reports made by self-proclaimed abductees, The Alien Report is a meticulous, straight-faced look at what an real-life alien abduction would be like, from the perspective of first-person cameras.
The Alien Report has screened at festivals worldwide, winning awards in the U.S., UK, Australia, and Brazil. Shot on iPhone and GoPro cameras as a non-traditional narrative composed of re-assembled found footage, the picture plays out as both a sci-fi thriller and first-person documentary. It is the intended first chapter in a trilogy of films about extraterrestrial abductions.
The Alien Report was directed by Patrick Donnelly and produced by Kevin Schroeder and Michael Sell.

It’s April and we’re bringing even more fun to Screambox, with new films including Stuart Gordon’s King of the Ants, the Lebanese found-footage horror What Is Buried Must Remain, and bonkers B-movie Abraham Lincoln vs. Zombies.
What Is Buried Must Remain haunts Screambox on April 12. A modern ghost story with ancient roots, the timely Lebanese found-footage hybrid finds young filmmakers confronted by supernatural forces engaged in a war for the very soul of the land.
Screambox goes to war with Abraham Lincoln vs. Zombies on April 12. Indie horror staple Bill Oberst Jr. (3 From Hell) stars as the President who emancipated the slaves, saved the Union, and slaughtered the undead.
Rise of the Zombies also takes a bite out of Screambox on April 12. Its all-star cast includes Mariel Hemingway (Manhattan), Ethan Suplee (Mallrats), LeVar Burton (“Star Trek: The Next Generation”), Danny Trejo (From Dusk Till Dawn), and French Stewart...

Anthony C. Ferrante, who used to write for Fangoria magazine back in the day, has directed twenty feature films over the course of his directing career – and several of those are shark thrillers. Ferrante was the director behind the over-the-top shark action of Sharknado, and when that movie turned out to be a pop culture sensation he returned to direct all five of the increasingly over-the-top sequels. The franchise wrapped up in 2018… and now, five years later, Ferrante has directed his seventh shark movie. A production of The Asylum, it’s a thriller called Blind Waters – and it’s already available to watch on the Tubi streaming service! To help you decide whether or not this movie is something you’d want to watch on Tubi, we have the trailer embedded above.

What began as another Syfy creature feature has now become an important piece of pop culture, taking over the world with multiple sequels that came in its wake.
In Sharknado: Feeding Frenzy, filmmaker Jeremy Wagener revisits the 2013 cult so-bad-it’s-good horror movie Sharknado, directed by Anthony C. Ferrante for the Syfy Channel.
In Sharknado, which spawned several sequels and is currently celebrating its 10th anniversary, when a freak hurricane swamps Los Angeles, nature’s deadliest killer rules sea, land, and air as thousands of sharks terrorize the waterlogged populace.
“Sharknado: Feeding Frenzy takes a ride into the Sharknado frenzy with a film geared to entertain while exploring how a Syfy creature feature become an unimaginable franchise and surprise phenomenon capturing the zeitgeist.
“With such a ridiculous name and premise, the low-budget movie about a shark-filled tornado destroying Los Angeles, Sharknado, was considered career suicide.

2023 marks the 10th anniversary of the release of the first Sharknado, and so far celebrations have included a screening on legendary movie host Joe Bob Briggs’ Shudder series The Last Drive-In and an all-day Sharknado franchise marathon on Syfy. If that wasn’t enough, The Asylum has now announced that they’ll be giving the movie a two-day theatrical re-release on August 15th and 16th! A new, Barbie-inspired poster has been created to promote this theatrical re-release, and you can check it out at the bottom of this article. The Hollywood Reporter got the exclusive first look at the poster.
Sharknado has been “fully remastered with hundreds of new special effects” for this event. The trailer for the re-release, which you can watch in the embed above, promises this version of the movie will deliver new kills, new thrills, more sharks, and more ‘nado.

A decade after it became an unexpected smash on the SyFy Channel, spawning a low-budget B-movie franchise in the process, Sharknado — in which Tara Reid, Ian Ziering and John Heard battle a tornado that sucks up great whites and hammerheads and spits them out over Los Angeles — is about to hit cinemas for the very first time as part of a two-day 10th anniversary celebration.
And to help promote the return of its most famous creation, producers at The Asylum have, not unlike in their infamous slate of so-called mockbuster titles, turned to the current movie-of-the-moment for some inspiration. In an alternative special poster revealed exclusively by The Hollywood Reporter, Sharknado is given a Barbie twist, with Barbie seen driving her pink convertible into a pink hurricane flinging killer sharks (some pink) from the sky, and Ken wielding a chainsaw. It’s unlikely this came with any approval from Mattel.

It was bound to happen. Netflix started making and showing original movies, then Amazon, and then Tubi followed suit with Swim. But as Tubi is not a thing here in the UK (thanks Gdpr) we’ve instead had to wait almost two years for the film to hit Blighty. However, don’t get too excited. Given their budget and “free with commercials” format of its source, this isn’t The Irishman or The Tomorrow War. This shark in the house film was made by The Asylum and their frequent director Jared Cohn from a script by Anthony C. Ferrante… so don’t expect Jaws either!
The Samson family Lacey, her father Noah, and kids Charlotte (Brett Hargrave; Weedjies: Halloweed Night) and Tucker (Daniel Grogan) are renting a beach house.

"That's a chance I'm willing to take." Available to watch on Tubi already is an action western rip-off spoof movie called Butch Cassidy & The Wild Bunch, from the Sharknado director Anthony C. Ferrante. One of The Asylum's latest offerings, this western combines the title of tow different classics - Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid (1969) and The Wild Bunch (1969). When Butch Cassidy and his colorful band of outlaws commit a series of high-profile heists, including a train robbery, a posse of newly-hired guns and seasoned killers working for the Pinkerton Detective Agency are tasked with taking down Cassidy and his rowdy gang. Starring Ross Jirgl, Jeffrey Combs, Bruce Dern, Jilon VanOver, Nikki Leigh, Dee Wallace, Geoff Meed, Alex Knight, and Megan Hensley. Yeah this looks as bad as you're expecting, maybe even worse, but that's exactly what The Asylum is going for every time. How trashy can they make it?...

There’s something inherently unsettling about teeth, and the addition of someone prodding at them with sharp instruments is especially invasive. On the other side of that coin, the negative association with dentistry can impact the professionals. Cult filmmaker Brian Yuzna tapped into these fundamental fears with his 1996 direct-to-video film, The Dentist, and its 1998 sequel, The Dentist 2.
In fact, Yuzna knew he could sell the movie based on the title alone, so he solicited writers to pitch him on the concept. It was his old pals Stuart Gordon and Dennis Paoli — for whom Yuzna had produced Re-Animator and From Beyond — that cracked the script. Charles Finch (who went on to executive produce David Cronenberg’s Spider) was later brought in to punch it up.
Continuing the underlying social commentary Yuzna explored with Society, the film centers on hot-headed dentist Alan Feinstone. After catching his wife (Linda Hoffman) going down...

A child’s not very mysterious disappearance and the violent death of her father at the hands of something monstrous form the core of Nix, a structurally ambitious but performatively weak offering from prolific Sharknado director Anthony C Ferrante. Flitting back and forth in time, it deals with the loss of young Tessa (Angelina Karo) and the subsequent collapse of her family, which includes a mother who can’t let go (latterly played by Dee Wallace of E.T. - The Extra-Terrestrial fame); brother Lucas, who becomes a drug addict (Skyler Caleb); boring normal brother Jack, who defaults to being the hero (James Zimbardi); and the addict’s young daughter Zoey (Niesha Renee Guilbot). Whilst they chip away at one another’s remaining ability to cope, Jack tries to protect Zoey and untangle the secrets of the past.
It all seems to hinge on a strange, Creature From The Black Lagoon-style beastie which inhabits.

“Nix” can mean two things in German. Aside from being the word for “nothing,” it’s also the name of a creature from local folklore. This play on the word is important to remember when diving into Anthony C. Ferrante‘s newest horror movie Nix. The Sharknado director once again brings terror to the surface as an aquatic threat exits the water and leaves death in its wake. Yet considering the title’s double meaning, the monster in question may or may not even be real.
Nix opens sometime in the past when people captured their most cherished moments with handheld cameras rather than phones. The Coyle family’s picnic by a pond turns grim as daughter Tessa (Angelina Karo) goes missing, and all signs point to her drowning in the water nearby. The present day then abruptly comes into view, and the remaining Coyle family members are still reeling from their losses.

"We're letting our imagination get the best of us." 1091 Pictures has revealed an official trailer for an indie horror creature feature titled Nix, the latest from a genre filmmaker named Anthony C. Ferrante. He is the very same director who made all three of the Sharknado movies for Syfy Channel, but that's not all he can do! Nix is Ferrante's first dramatic horror film since his 2005 hit Boo. A family finds themselves on a dark, scary journey into their own self-created madness when a mysterious entity manifests itself. It is described as "a modern-day horror movie dealing with trauma and addiction and how a tragedy twenty years prior tears apart a family." The indie horror film stars James Zimbardi, Michael Paré, Skyler Caleb, Angie Teodora Dick, and Dee Wallace. The gnarly lake creature in this isn't that scary, just a man in some latex prosthetics. It’s a relatively quiet week for home entertainment releases, but Tuesday is playing host to one of my favorite films of the year, Ready or Not, which makes December 3rd feel like an early Christmas to this writer. Scream Factory is showing some love to John Carpenter’s Big Trouble in Little China with multiple editions (including the standard Collector’s Edition as well as the absolutely gorgeous limited edition Steelbook), and Konga, one of my favorite cult films (thank you Terror in the Aisles!) is headed to Blu on Tuesday, courtesy of Kino Lorber.

While John Carpenter's Big Trouble in Little China is infinitely quotable thanks to Kurt Russell's performance as the imperfect protagonist Jack Burton, every great reluctant hero needs a great villain, and James Hong's portrayal of the evil Lo Pan gave us a character who is just as memorable as his truck-driving counterpart. With Big Trouble in Little China coming to Blu-ray like never before in a new Collector's Edition on December 3rd from Scream Factory, we've been provided with an exclusive bonus feature clip featuring Hong to share with Daily Dead readers!
Taken from "The Soul of Lo Pan" bonus feature on the Big Trouble in Little China Collector's Edition Blu-ray, our exclusive clip below features Hong reflecting on some of his most memorable moments playing Lo Pan, including how Carpenter and his crew used practical effects and ingenuity to pull off Lo Pan's glowing transformation and floating ability.

Director Osgood Perkins brings full flavor to a familiar fairy tale with Gretel & Hansel.
"A fairy tale has a way of getting into your head," promises the new Gretel & Hansel trailer. "Even before you hear it." Directed by Osgood Perkins, the upcoming adaptation of the classic cautionary story from the Brothers Grimm looks like it will leave a trail of breadcrumbs to the dark subconscious. And the oven hasn't even been pre-heated.
Orion Pictures’ Gretel & Hansel stars Sophia Lillis as Gretel, and Sammy Leakey as her hungry little brother. The huntsman is played by Charles Babalola. Holda, the culinary crone, is played by Alice Krige. Jessica De Gouw plays the Young Holda. The screenplay was written by Rob Hayes.

It’s campy. It’s gory and it’s all about zombies. Ian Ziering is back and he’s battling zombies. Zombie Tidal Wave premieres tonight on SyFy at 9 pm. We don’t really need to go in-depth here, but it looks like from the trailer that zombies are coming ashore and Ziering and company have to battle the undead or join them. After playing Steve Sanders in all ten seasons of Beverly Hills 90210, Ziering has created a cult-like following with the Sharknado series. So far there have been six Sharknado movies all airing on the SyFy network with big numbers churning out to watch the mayhem. Sharknado may be cheesy, but there seems to be an audience that loves those crazy sharks. Ziering is hoping that those same people who love the Sharknado series will be fall in love with Zombie Tidal Wave. Anthony C. Ferrante who directed all...

Zombie Tidal Wave, a new Syfy original movie starring and produced by Ian Ziering (Sharknado), is set to premiere as part of Syfy’s shark-themed Off The Deep End weekend, Saturday, August 17 at 9 Pm.
The movie is the first project under the production pact between Ian Ziering’s I.Man Productions and Darby Parker’s Stronghold Entertainment. The feature stars Ziering and was directed by Ziering’s frequent collaborator Anthony C. Ferrante who helmed all six of Ziering’s Sharknado‘s film installments.
Ziering and Parker see this as the first of many installments where we follow lead Hunter Shaw (Ziering) as he contends with the ocean-borne outbreak which threatens his seaside island community, the rogue, veteran sailor leading a disparate group of locals to uncover the origins of the undead pandemic while battling the growing horde of infected before it can reach the mainland.

Ian Ziering is returning to Syfy, but don’t worry, it’s not another “Sharknado” film.
The cable network, home to all six of Ziering — and Tara Reid’s — “Sharknado” films, will premiere a new film starring and produced by Ziering: “Zombie Tidal Wave.” The feature is directed by Anthony C. The film is first under the production deal between Ziering’s I.Man Productions and Darby Parker’s Stronghold Entertainment.

Welcome to the latest installment in a brand-new series here on Nerdly, Terrible Terror, in which we highlight some of, what we think, are the Worst horror movies to have ever burnt my retina with their atrociousness. Up this time is direct to DVD fear-flick House of Bones – which stars some familiar faces from television.
Stars: Charisma Carpenter, Marcus Lyle Brown, Ricky Wayne, Kyle Clements, Collin Galyean, Corin Nemec | Written by Anthony C. Ferrante, Jay Frasco | Directed by Jeffery Lando
Yet another entry into the long line of films that take their cues from reality television, House of Bones follows the investigators of “Sinister Sites” a cheesy ghost-hunting show that is losing viewers by the day thanks to its clueless host and a lack of ghosts in the show. SyFy has released the full trailer for The Last Sharknado: It's About Time and it looks more absurd than you could ever imagine. This next film takes the story through multiple time periods throughout the history of the world and in the process, there are all kinds of sharks to fight! That includes dragon sharks from the medieval times and robot sharks from the future. Then we get to see a shark fight a T-Rex, a shark bite off some dude's arm in the wild west, and Benjermin Franklin punch a shark. Just wait until you see what the human population looks like in the future. This is so stupid...

Sad news for those of you who have enjoyed the first five iterations of the Sharknado thing: Episode VI – It’s Come to This (fake title) is the last chapter in the toothy saga. But we’ll always have the memories. Come to think of it, that news seems just as sad.
Regardless, here is the final trailer for the final Jaws-meets-weather event, The Last Sharknado: It’s About Time (real title). Airing on Sunday, it wraps Syfy’s Sharknado Week of such awards-bait programming as Nightmare Shark and 6-Headed Shark Attack. Ian Ziering and Tara Reid, who somehow have dodged being chum in the first five of these flicks, are back for the wrapup, in which they are hurled back in time to stop the Sharknado that started it all. Will Fin and the gang be able to set everything right and save the world once and for all?...

The Syfy Channel has released the first teaser trailer for Sharknado 6 and they announced that the title of the film will be The Last Sharknado: It's About Time. They can say that this is the last Sharknado film all they want, but I can't help but think that all this marketing for it being the final film in the franchise, is all just a way to set it up for Sharknado 7! Remember that time when the Saw franchise was supposed to end? The title also makes a point of letting fans know that the story is "about time", with the whole time-travel element. Anyway, here's the synopsis:
Our hero Fin (Ian Ziering) has battled sharks all over the globe, but in this last installment he will tackle the final shark-tier -- time travel. In the ending moments of Sharknado 5: Global Swarming, Fin was seen wandering alone on Earth after it was destroyed.

It looks the sharp-toothed winds of Sharknado are about to come to an end. Syfy has greenlit a sixth and final installment of the campy sci-fi horror franchise, Deadline has confirmed.
The yet-to-be-titled sequel will bring back Ian Ziering, Tara Reid, Cassie Scerbo, and Vivica A. Fox. Five-time Sharknado helmer Anthony C. Ferrante will be back in the director’s chair for the grand finale.
In Sharknado 5: Global Swarming, we last saw Finn (Ziering) walking the Earth all by his lonesome after it has been destroyed. The sixth movie will have him traveling back in time to stop the first Sharknado that ushered in this cult franchise.
The Sharknado movement started in 2013 and has since garnered a rabid cult fanbase on social media that ate up all of the franchise’s B-movie glory. The first movie was followed by Sharknado 2: The Second One, which was a series-best reeling in 3.9 million viewers.

“Sharknado” is coming to an end.
The Syfy film franchise is set to wrap up, with the upcoming sixth film to serve as the franchise’s swan song. In true, ridiculous “Sharknado” fashion, the final film will see lead character Fin (Ian Ziering) travel back in time to save his family. According to Syfy’s official synopsis, the sixth film will also feature “Nazis, dinosaurs, knights, and…Noah’s Ark.” Tara Reid, Cassie Scerbo, and Vivica A.
