Everybody's Talking About Jamie (2021)
Not the best adaptation to the screen
While watching this movie, I always had the feeling that I was being in a theatre, but from my sofa, and it is not what I wanted.
I feel that while trying to keep the spirit of the original musical, they forgot that this is is a movie and some things must be changed or adjusted.
Jojo Rabbit (2019)
A rollercoaster of emotions
To my mind, one of the best movies of the year. It's such a great comedy, with moments so hilarious that will make you cry. But apart from that, it's such a sweet story that will melt your heart. If you are hesitating at the cinema, this is the perfect option for you.
The Favourite (2018)
Amazing performances and score
Although at times it may be a little bit slow, this movie is has two of my favourite things. The performances of both three actresses are outstanding, specially Olivia Colman's. Very deserved Oscar for her portrayal if Queen Anne. Emma Stone and Rachel Waiss are amazing as well, and both should be sharing Colman's position as Lead Actress.
Another thing that makes this movie great is the music. It's the perfect companion for the story, and in my point of view, it becomes another character of the movie.
The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel (2017)
Fresh and hilarious
There is no episode in this series that can't make you laugh. The character of Midge is one I had always wanted to see in TV. She is beautiful, strong and hilarious. And all the supporting characters are wonderful as well, without them there would be something missing in the show. Can't wait for Season 3!
Feud (2017)
Better actresses than the ones they played
All I have to say is that you must watch this series to appreciate the goddesses that Susan Sarandon and Jessica Lange are.
A Quiet Place (2018)
Silent, but not boring
At first, I was reluctant to watch this movie because everybody had told me there weren't many words in it, and I thought I would be bored to death. However, nothing further from the truth. The movie has a really a good plot and there is always something in the screen that will keep you captivated. Besides, Emily Blunt and John Krasinski are outstanding in both their performances, and the kids who play their children are brilliant, as well.
The Shape of Water (2017)
Not bad, but I expected more
The film is good. The screenplay is original and the aesthetics is brilliant. But there's something missing. As I said in the title, I expected more (specially when it had won so many awards).
I recommend everyone to watch it and judge by themselves.
Sex Education (2019)
A must-watch serie
Brilliant. Funny. Educational for teenagers (and for everybody, actually). It deals with different topics such as abortion, homosexuality, masturbation... in such a real and wonderful way that everybody must watch. Besides, the main characters are very relatable and you will fall in love with them instantly. Can't wait for Season 2
Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again (2018)
Two movies in one
To my mind, they tried to make two separate movies in one. Personally, I would have preferred either a movie only about Donna's story or one about Sophie's life after Donna's death, but not both stories at once. However, the performances are outstanding, the songs are well performed and the scenery is breathtaking.
