Weird Anime Excel Saga (1999–2001)
Very Weird
17 July 2005
I have to say this is the weirdest animation I've ever witness from anime world. From the very first episode the world weird comes in five minutes where the character Excel dies about 3 times from the very start of the program. Then again later in the show. It's all about her being an across agency trying to take over the world but her love for Master Iraparatzo is out of control. He doesn't love her obviously. Then a girl comes from outer space called Hyatt who has to have breathing problems because she coughs up blood. Damn. Even more weird is that the show becomes more on nudity at the end of the series 1 and scares me a bit. On the whole it is entertaining and funny but the explicit nature of it is a reason why cartoons are not always for kids.

Spongebob Mania
20 June 2005
It has rose above all my expectation. With the movie version enhanced than the cartoon series on TV you get a rich feel of the characters, surroundings and stuff which you wouldn't really see on the TV. It is a visual treat. Tom Kenny (aka Spyro The Dragon) has done remarkably well as spongebob all these years and he goes higher in this movie. Clancy Brown (You may know him from the Crash Bandicoot Series playing Dr. Neo Cortex) playing Eugene Krabs is funny. All the gang are a treat to watch. The story is good and thrilling. With David Hasselholf as a special appearance the film has found a major star than the usual unknown cast type of stars you know what you mean? Anyway an enjoying film. Overall-Super Hit

Average but not really entertaining to my like
20 June 2005
I heard about this when the DVD sales came out. I bought it, watched it & then got bored halfway. My sis liked it but not really my stuff. The only part that was entertaining were the first half of the film then halfway it got boring until the dance scene which is wicked. Some of you the viewers who seen the movie might think that I'm stupid and should watch something more entertaining than what you watch everyday but seriously this is my opinion. So everyone's got an opinion if you liked it good if you didn't then you would agree with me at your opinion. Though good acting by the cast who played the people who don't have that courage in life and I wish that those popular people could just take a whiff of life for a change. Thank you. Spirited Away ( A Film That Will Make You Cry)
10 June 2005
Spirited Away has just been televised this year on Sky Movies (in the uk) but before like Princess Mononoke it was on Channel 4's (in the uk). This film made it in the top ten (8 it reached. So once televised on Sky Movies. I watched the opening but I was rudely interrupted by my mate and I had to go out for an hour missing the parts but I'm glad I did but I tell you about it later but the next time it was televised I did get to watch and it was brilliant though the story is a little bit weak. If you like anime Spirited Away is no. 1. on your list. Music by Joe Hisaishi is wonderful. Reprise is a wicked instrumental, Chihiro's Theme is sweet & Solitude (Not in the film must have been a bonus) is outstanding. This was a definite Oscar winning animation. Overall-Super Hit.

I heard about this movie when Channel 4 (in the UK) did 100 greatest cartoons. Princess Mononoke nearly made it to the top 20 (21 it reached). I watched Spirited Away first but I decided to watch one of Miyazaki's earlier works. Boy, was Spirited Away 10x better than this. Though the opening was good but at some points the film tends to get boring. The intro of Ashitaka was visually great same with all the other characters except Lady Eboshi where she was introduced straight away. The reasons that Princess Mononoke could not be televised for kids was that it had 2 'B' words & 1 'P' words. Yes, swearing. Also the part where Ashitaka lets his arrow fly to stop someone where the victim loses his arms and one where he loses his head!!! Blood & Gore to top it off. However the animation was good to watch but the story was weak. Music by Joe Hisaishi is suited at all parts of the film and well deserved music. I like the Legend of Ashitaka which is brilliantly instrumented. Off course if the film didn't have gore and swearing then this would have been a great family program but otherwise don't let your kids watch this and learn bad words. Overall- Average
