Crank (2006)
Unrealistic, but not bad and even original
This movie is unrealistic, but it has some new original ideas. It cannot be taken seriously, but it's not boring, it's entertaining and worth watching. Russians don't produce such movies.
The moment when a killer tries to shoot his girl and she doesn't notice anything is funny and odd. Liked this moment.
It looks sure like GTA series.
People who like risk should like it. There are people who like risk and I am one of them.
The main actor good fits the role. I think they could make a serious movie, which would have success.
The script looks like amateur one, the direction and acting looks professional like we see in Hollywood films.
Indigo (2008)
Bullsh*t story
I wouldn't recommend you to watch this film. It has a senseless story that left me disappointed. It shows the mystical crap like reincarnation, psychic powers and so on. I've watched it and forgotten. Russian films of this genre often have crappy story and always show no any new original ideas. Russians always try to copy the West, cause they can't make anything really original.
Story holes: they tell about these indigo kids but they say nothing about how you can identify such people, how they have identified them, they just tell they're indigo, there is no any explanation. Nothing actually is explained. "Параша!" - that's what russians say about such films.
Das Leben der Anderen (2006)
Not interesting and overrated
When I was watching how this Stasi works, I was only thinking "This is disgusting."(and in no way enthralling). Though I don't think that this film is appalling, I've seen movies that were worse. It's not about using of clichés. I haven't seen many clichés in the film either. It is a very naive film, a very naive plot\story. Though the ending is good. His girlfriend turns out to be a whore? A stupid whore.
The story isn't much interesting, much intriguing to me. I don't really get what's so great about it.
The world of GDR, shown in the film, has reminded me the Russian classics. If you like it you should read some old Russian novels, which Russians read in schools.
" I think this is the first German movie which shows this system as it used to be" - we saw this in "Good bye, Lenin!" too, the moment when the mass freedom-demanding meeting was brutally suppressed, what even has appeared shocking to the mother. I've heard even more disgusting things about the socialistic system.
"The acting is superb, the direction impeccable" - the direction I think is good, but the acting... The main character... Such play got to be very subtle, therefore it's hard to implement. I DON'T BELIEVE! Far-fetched!
(T)Raumschiff Surprise - Periode 1 (2004)
No, thank you
I didn't like this movie and I haven't watched it fully. I do not need gay movies, no thanks. "Why do most of the commentators put emphasis on the gay-factor?" Because most of the commentators aren't gays and find gays disgusting and not acceptable, that's obvious ;). Comparing it with BORAT I think BORAT is much better. I wouldn't recommend to watch this movie.

The Mist (2007)
A bad film
It's a bad film. There is no explanation of where these tentacles are come from or whose tentacles are these. That makes the movie stupid and illogical. So, the script isn't realistic. And these tentacles coming from the fog are the only main horror element of the film. There is no any strong idea shown in the film. I thought a movie based on King's novel could have been better.
"Darkness" is better than this. And "The Shining" I think is better, too, it's also based on King's novel like "Mist".
I have nothing more to write about this film.

Good Bye Lenin! (2003)
A great movie
The soundtrack written by Yann Tiersen is perfect. The soundtrack is the first thing you notice when you start to watch this film.
The film isn't complicated and simple enough, so everyone can understand it, even the dumbest persons. What is the main scene of the film? This is probably when they go at the Datsche, the mother's monologue. (or probably it's when the mother sees Lenin flying bound to a helicopter?)
It simply shows the aspects of the life in a socialistic state and the aspects of being an Ossi, the notions of an Ossi. And of course the problems of that time.
I wouldn't say it's a comedy, I think it's a tragical movie. It develops the aspect of belief of the Ossis in their state, of the bigotry of the socialistic states, of the belief that their socialistic(communistic) system is superior to capitalistic countries, though it also shows that far not all of the Ossis were really such communistic fanatics and most even didn't care of the crash of their state. There is even a quasi-triumph of the DDR shown in the end.
Of all three movies showing the life in the DDR I have watched this one is the best.
Chyornaya Molniya (2009)
An opinion from Russia, Moscow
There is not many Russian sci-fi movies. I have watched "Paragraph 78" the first part, it wasn't good. I can't recall more Russian sci-fi films, although I have watched a lot of Russian films. I was even a little bit surprised when I have seen this film, because I thought Russians don't make such sci-fi films, it's an unusual genre for a Russian film. This one is good enough, but comparing it with American movie "The Island"(of the same genre), which I liked much more, it looks mediocre. So, don't expect something outstanding.
The subject of relationship of women and superheroes isn't really anything new, we saw this many times in other movies, such as "Spiderman"(when someone other is mistaken for a hero or something, or the elaboration of some other sides of being a superhero). And so on.
