Godzilla is indeed the "King of Monsters"!
1 June 2019
Godzilla is back and here to face threats that are bigger than ever. "Godzilla: King of Monsters" is a great film to watch in the IMAX theaters especially if you enjoy giant monster (Kaiju) films like me. It does not disappoint. You get plenty of action, special effects, and explosions on the theater screen. You also get to see some of your favorite monsters, Rodan, Monthra, King Ghidorah, and more in all their glory. If you're looking for a fun, action-packed monster movie, "Godzilla: King of Monsters" is a good one to check out!

"A Star Is Born" is Quite an Entertaining Ride
18 November 2018
"A Star Is Born" is quite an entertaining ride. It deals with the ups and downs of the music industry, love, addiction, family, and so much more. Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga give stunning performances in their acting and musical abilities in this movie (I hear this one has Oscar buzz) and they had me into every moment of this story. The musical soundtrack is also beautiful and will have you moving in your seat. If you're looking for a strong, solid drama that touches all your emotions and also great music to sing along with, "A Star Is Born" is definitely worth checking out!

Wow. Episode 2 is awesome. I'm enjoying the addition of Hawk & Dove to the team, plus that ending is amazing and has me wondering what will happen next. I'm also enjoying the villains at the end of this episode.

Whitney's Story In Real, Raw Details....
7 July 2018
If you are a Whitney Houston fan or even if you mainly just enjoy some of her hit songs, I highly recommend this movie. It is a very raw and real documentary that tells the successes and struggles that Whitney faced throughout her lifetime. The movie has never-seen-before footage and stories from Whitney's family members (Mother Cissy Houston, her siblings, Bobby Brown, best friend Robyn, etc), friends, and business associates and it talks about some of the deep, and dark secrets of her past all the way to the end of her life.

"Whitney" had me up in excitement when I saw some of her behind-the-scenes thoughts and moments, but it also had me very sad when I saw a clear look into some of the personal demons that haunted her and were often in some of the tabloids at the time. If you want to look more into the story of an icon and to enjoy a strong drama on the theater screen, this movie is a good one to check out and it will have you talking and thinking about it even when it's over.

A Great Addition To The Marvel Cinematic Universe
4 November 2017
I really enjoyed Thor: Ragnorak. It was filled with great action, humor, plenty of villains, and showed even more interesting corners of the Marvel Universe. It also featured the Marvel Cinematic Universe's first major female villain, Hela, the goddess of death. She is probably going to now be one of my favorite Marvel villains now since she proved to be quite a match for Thor and was captivating to see in her scenes. Another character that I really enjoyed was Valkyrie. She was definitely another strong female character who was a force to be reckoned with for men and females alike.

The movie is a great experience in IMAX/RPX/3D. Many of the visuals seemed to come to life on the theater screen. I also enjoyed the soundtrack. It has an orchestral yet futuristic sound to it. I had to listen to it more when I got home. I highly recommend this for Marvel fans. It was quite an entertaining ride. I'm definitely going to have to get it on BluRay too! #ThorRagnorak #Thor

The Dark Tower Leaves A Lot More To Be Desired
5 August 2017
I am a Stephen King movie and book fan, so I had been waiting for this movie to come out for quite a while now. Even though I've heard mostly mediocre or bad reviews on this film, I still wanted to go out to support one of my favorite authors, Stephen King, and also a favorite actor Idris Elba in his lead big-screen role. I was even originally hoping that this film would be a theater trilogy masterpiece like the Lord of the Rings or the Star Wars franchise. Due to the book series and its large fan base, this movie had so much potential to be great so despite the recent negative buzz, I went on to view the movie anyway and judge it for myself.

When I saw this movie, I wasn't exactly thrilled by it, but it didn't exactly leave me disgusted either. Actor Idris Elba did a phenomenal job as the Gunslinger. I was captivated every time he was on the screen and I wanted to learn more about his character. Matthew McConaughey also did a great job playing "The Man In Black". He was the ultimate face of evil and I thought that the two actors played the classic battle of Good vs Evil well in the movie. The young actor, Tom Taylor did a great job playing the kid Jake Chambers, and although I was kind of nervous about him at first and wondered what great job his character would bring to the table, I can honestly say that by the end of the movie I was very pleased with his performance as well.

The main problem I had with this film was the pacing. It did feature a few monsters and creepy characters, but their scenes seemed to move along so fast that I felt that I was barely able to connect to any of them. The movie which was 95 minutes, also seemed to go along so fast that although I was on the edge of my seat throughout it, as soon as I felt that the movie was going to great places, the end had already come. It went by really fast. There was so much more that I wanted to know about the Gunslinger, the "Man in Black", the Dark Tower world and other parallel universes, that the ending left me feeling a little hollow and like something was missing.

This is a decent film in my opinion, but not a must-see horror or action movie. I was a little disappointed because the book series franchise is a classic to many fans and I had hoped that movie goers would get a taste of that excitement in the theaters. This movie gives that energy in some parts, but I felt it way too rushed and leaves a lot to be desired by the end. I like Stephen King and really want to see more of The Dark Tower series presented in film in a powerful way that it is in the book series, but this movie is only a taste of greatness that this franchise can offer. Hopefully Hollywood can give it a better shot next time.

The Logan Movie Is A Great Experience
15 April 2017
The "Logan" movie was definitely a great experience. It made me laugh in some scenes, get excited sometimes, and almost get teary-eyed in others. Its a film that definitely plays with the emotions. It was a very entertaining experience and a seemingly possible ending for this phase of the franchise. I greatly enjoyed it and suggest that X- Men or Wolverine fans give it a shot. I don't think that you will be disappointed. I liked the new characters, especially the young X-23 character (female Wolverine) and some of the villains were brutal too. There is a lot more violence and adult theme s in this movie, but what would you expect from a Wolverine movie with an R rating? I highly recommend it.

The Toyman Is Here!
11 December 2016
Warning: Spoilers
I absolutely enjoyed this episode. It was great to see the deadly Toyman (Winslow Schott) from the comics make his debut on television. His gadgets and everything are supposed to be deadly and creepy at the same time. He also has quite a dark presence, and I felt that that came across quite well in this episode. I also enjoyed the connection that was made between Winslow and his son Winn, when he escaped from prison.

Other elements that i enjoyed were things such as Hank (Martian ManHunter) sneaking into the facility of Maxwell Lord and finding a strange new possibly dangerous exploration there. I also like the emotional scenes in which Winn faced his fear of becoming like his father. He finally was bold enough to press pass his fears and let Kara know his feelings for her, but the results were still mixed when she seemed more shocked than anything else at his feelings. I don't know what that will mean for the two of them, but at least he tried. I also enjoyed the scenes in which Alex went out on a date with Maxwell Lord. It was risky for her to do that and it seems by the end of the episode that there may be dark repercussions to come as a result.

I definitely enjoyed this episode and I look forward to the next!

A Highly Recommended Fun And Campy Treat For Batman Fans
10 October 2016
I went to a special theater viewing of this movie and found it to be a real treat. I enjoyed it from the very beginning, It did not disappoint. The special effects were quite nice and the music with its jazzy horn sounds and sixties beats had me moving in my seat through some parts of it as well. Adam West as Batman and Julie Newmar as Catwoman were enjoyable to watch. The producers featuring their original voices in the film gave it a special uniqueness that could not be replaced.

I often laughed out loud at certain scenes and also enjoyed the storyline. It had me often wondering what would happen next. I also liked the villains. Classic Joker, Penguin, Riddler, and Catwoman each had their own unique flair that seemed to captivate each scene. Riddler was great with his genius schemes and his trickery. The classic Joker was hilarious with his flamboyant laugh and his menacing actions. Penguin was crafty in his own way with his powerful gadgets, style and swagger. Catwoman was also quite captivating with her tempting seductress demeanor and deadly charms.

I also enjoyed Batman, Robin, and Alfred's characters in this film. The director has a great style of mixing humor with edginess that make the heroes and villains interesting and fun to watch. I laughed out loud at much of Batman and Robin's hilarious dialogue and chemistry. Robin really had me laughing out loud with his hysterical phrases such as "Holy Hydrogen", "Holy Shrapnel" and "Holy Hussy". I did not get bored with the heroes at all in this film and was quite excited to see this version of the characters. The fight scenes even had me laughing out loud; especially when they used the classic sixties phrases such as "Boom!", "Pow!" "Zone!"etc. while the heroes fought the villains. These scenes were funny and did not bore me even for a moment.

This movie was quite amazing and an refreshing escape from the dark undertones of the recent Batman projects. It shows that Batman is a character that can be expressed in a wide array of styles and still be entertaining. I definitely recommend DC Comic fans and Batman fans to try this film out. I am so moved by it that I plan to purchase a DVD copy of this movie and probably even the original 60's Batman show too. I also will try to read some of the Batman 66 comics to get more of this type of entertainment. I hope that the directors may even consider doing a sequel of this real soon. I definitely look forward to seeing more.

I Actually Enjoyed This One...
15 July 2016
You know I really enjoyed Ghostbusters. It was not a groundbreaking movie of the summer, but it was not that bad either. I enjoyed the chemistry between all four characters, and I laughed quite a bit throughout the movie. It also had many great special effects and an interesting storyline. I definitely look forward to a sequel if they decide to create one.

However you have to erase all memories of the first two Ghostbusters films in order to appreciate this one at all. They give homage to the past films, but this is a total reboot for a new audience .

I have no problem with the "female power" message within this film. I do like strong female characters in action movies, so it did not bother me. The only thing I did not really like is that all of the male characters were either dumb, or had some type of strong obvious negative character trait. I don't think that a movie has to totally diminish the male characters in order to make the female character shine more. Why can't there be a balance? The main villain was interesting too, but they could've built him up more, because in the end he wasn't the most memorable to me. But otherwise I really enjoyed this movie.

I Enjoyed This Movie And Recommend It To Batman Superman Fans...
25 March 2016
I absolutely enjoyed this movie and highly recommend it. I really liked 2013's "Man of Steel" movie and this one seems to continue right where that one ended. It was full of action, intrigue, drama, and more. It sent me through a variety of emotions. I was yelling at the screen one moment and hollering in excitement the next.

It was definitely worth my money. Another thing that thrilled me is that it is very obvious that this movie is opening the door for a future possible followup such as a Wonder Woman and a Justice League of America movie. I definitely look forward to seeing those two. If you are a fan of Batman or Superman, I believe that you will enjoy this movie. Check it out!

Sinister 2 (2015)

A Decent Horror Sequel
25 August 2015
I felt that this was a decent movie. It gave a little more insight as to what was going on with those videotapes from part one and more insight as to what the "Sinister" entity is all about. But if definitely had some very slow parts too. Around the middle, I found myself wanting the movie to pick up its pace. . I say that if you are a huge fan of "Sinister" 1 like me, this may be an interesting addition to the franchise, but if you are new to it or looking for something really scary, you may want to wait and see this on video... The movie was not that bad. It had some disturbing scenes,, but I can't say that it was awesome either.
