One of the worst things I have seen this season
20 November 2016 | by thaddius-leiberSee all my reviews

Many others have stated how bad this episode is and if it weren't for the Max Lord story advancement and I guess the Winn-reveals-his- feelings subplot it would be a total zero. The villain was such pointless underthought GARBAGE that I almost stopped watching after the prison 'escape'. His gadgets were ridiculously overpowered and his plot so convoluted that it didn't even make sense in a show about ALIENS WITH NONSENSICAL SUPERPOWERS! Even with those in hand, Supergirl manages to get trapped by... *sigh*... quicksand. Yep, F***ING QUICKSAND. With THERMITE IN IT, apparently. She can fly, right, I mean... a normal human with a good handhold can pull themselves out of quicksand, but Supergirl? NOPE. Then of course in the big action finale where the bad guy's ultimate plan is about to go off... a bunch of bombs get stopped by... wait for it... A THIN SHEET OF ICE! That's right a scant quarter inch (maybe?) of freshly frozen water stops bombs, probably really good bombs too considering they mention this guy made a bomb a few years back and it killed SIX PEOPLE after being stuffed into a little toy. If you value your time and sanity, skip this episode... maybe fast forward in Netflix until you see Max Lord or DEO scenes if you want the good parts, ignore the rest. May god have mercy on your souls.
