Watched it again 15 years later
5 February 2021
One of the greatest pleasures I have is to wait a long long time to watch again movies that I loved. I was 17 when this movie was released and now 15 years later I watched it again to feel the same emotion and thrill. It didn't disappoint me to rewatch it. This is a great film with a great storyline. it's science fiction but there is a very good message behind it. I really enjoy films about time traveling and this is one of my favorites, because it's so well constructed. I think I appreciate it even more watching now in 2021 then I did 15 years ago. Because basically I remembered the story, that he could travel back in time and I also remembered the ending ,cause I thought it was such a great ending back then and I still do, but the middle I completely forgot about so it was really good to rewatch. I will wait another 15 years to watch it again!!!

Selena: The Series (2020–2021)

Give it a chance!
10 December 2020
I was looking forward for this show and so far, I'm enjoying it. Before anything, for all people out there saying "the actress doesn't look like Selena, her hair doesn't look like Selena's" .. just do a little research and you'll find out that Selena actually had pretty curly hair and in her earlier years she did rock her curls! Only later she started to style her hair in a different way. You'll see that her hair curls and color actually looked like that before... Later on in the show you'll see she changes her style as she matures and becomes a woman! I am, like many people, a huge fan of the movie with JLo, but obviously they speeded up in order to make a 2 hours movie about her life, the series portrays a more detailed and slower paced timeline. So they actually did a great job by showing her hair like that. Just give it some time because the series is showing her earlier years and the process of her becoming the Selena we know. Yes, there are some negative aspects, but I think that it's overall consistent and well portrayed. Sometimes the acting isn't the best performance, but it isn't THAT bad either. Obviously the actress can't dance as JLo, hasn't the same curves as JLo , but she's good and as far as I know, Selena's family chose and approved her to play Selena... That has to mean something. Just enjoy the series for what it is. Don't compare to the movie. It's a different kind of magic and it's great that her memory is being honored.

Just ... Wow
4 July 2020
So this review is based on the first season, I haven't watched the others yet but I've always heard that the first season is the best one. This is about good person, living a normal life, good wife, good mom, that commits a brutal crime out of the blue, apparently for no reason; so the story unfolds as a determined detective tries very hard to find out what led her to do it and what were her motives for such crime. I honestly watched the whole thing in one day because I was so intrigued and on the edge of my seat during the whole show. The cast did a pretty good job, great acting, but Jessica Biel and Bill Pullman did an outstanding job, they were both incredibly good performing their roles as really troubled people. I honestly liked it a lot especially because it doesn't end with plot holes, everything kind of come together in the end. I'm giving it a 9 because I think that it could have been one or two episodes shorter, it can be very slow-paced at times. I will definitely watch season 2 because I think it will be good as well, maybe not as good at this first season but I am curious.

Frida (2002)

Very well executed!
3 July 2020
So I've seen this movie many times because I really enjoy everything about it. This movie was able to give life to that wild fire inside Frida. Although Selma still looks stunning in the movie, I could really see Frida in her and I can't imagine a better fit for the role. The movie will take you to Frida's teenage years, when her big accident happened and follow her path from there, her development as an artist, a little bit of her story as an activist, her troubled romance with her fellow artist Diego Rivera, and one of the things that I like the most is that it shows the creative process and what inspired her most famous pieces. The music is another aspect that I absolutely adore in this amazing film. As a foreigner living in Mexico I was actually surprised to see that a lot of people here don't really like this movie, in fact they don't really like Frida that much, but I still think that it's because she was just so ahead of her time and she would still be ahead of her time if she was alive. She lived by her own rules and that was not acceptable by most people with strong beliefes and traditions. Knowing this, I respect this movie even more because they were able to portray that Frida always felt different, always felt like she didn't belong. I highly recommend it. The only thing I don't like about the movie is that they focused a bit too much on Diego at times. Yes, he was a very important part of her life, but it focused a bit too much on his art and his issues at some point, but the name of the movie is Frida Kahlo, not Frida and Diego.

Remarkable !

For me this movie is unique, sort of a masterpiece of its kind. Not the typical romance you usually see, but it's sexy and provocative and touching. This is more faithful to the realness in a Dom/sub relationship... Not that fifty Shades of Grey BS. And also brings a very sensitive insight about the nature of it all.

Good thril and worth the watch
3 July 2020
Let's start by saying that this is based on a book. All over the world, people suddenly start to see "something" that will bring emotions that will lead them to commit suicide. So basically they have to be blindfolded in order to survive. Overall, I really enjoyed this movie and I'm a big fan of Sandra Bullock, so I honestly liked it. The acting is quite good, the kids on the movie did a great job. The film builds up a tension that keeps you interested... Howeveeeer... I have read the book and the story is very well constructed on the pages and has a lot of important insights that the movie just didn't bring, they made some bold changes, especially the ending which I honestly did not understand why they decided to sort of change... the end in the book is kind of the climax for me, so I think they should have left the end as it was in the book. So that is basically why I'm giving it 7. Perhaps if they kept the script a bit more faithful to the book they would have succeeded in making the audience connect a bit more with the character and the story. I would still recommend this movie and also recommend the book If you like reading.

Intense
3 July 2020
This isn't a film for everyone. Overall the experience of watching this film was nerve-wracking, intense, sometimes very hard to watch, but I do like and respect a movie with such powerful message. I don't think that everybody would get the meaning of this film, but without spoiling it let's just say that it is a very well-constructed metaphor for society in general. This is the kind of film that you have to watch with attention to details so you can get the message, which can be difficult because sometimes one scene will just keep you thinking and kinda shocked for several minutes. The acting is quite powerful, the plot is quite interesting and you want to keep watching it to see what's going to happen. I'm rating this movie 7 because I think that the ending could have been better executed. I believe that I got the main idea and purpose of the ending but I really didn't like how it was presented.

Feel the love!!! "More than a makeover"
3 July 2020
This show was quite a surprise for me, I wasn't expecting it to be that joyful and beautiful. Basically they pick a person and then they will give this person a makeover, but just like the show says, "it's more than a makeover", because for what I've seen they actually change lives. This show makes me laugh, makes me cry, makes me have hope that there are still a lot of good in this world. Not only the Fab five are wonderful people doing good but also the people they choose to give the makeovers. The Fab five have a really good chemistry and you can see that they really are good friends and that their relationship is really good, which makes the show very fun to watch. Each one of them have something to offer and each one of them also talk about their back story every now and then which makes you feel a lot of sympathy for them. It's a really feel good show. Yes Jonathan is very feminine and he got his flamboyance but he is simply adorable, he has a giant heart and he is always trying to make people feel good, trying to get their confidence back, he gives really good advices about people finding their time to take care of themselves. And he's so funny I really love him. So what that he is too much sometimes? This is a show about 5 gay man going around and giving makeovers afterall and it is great to see their interaction with all sorts of people. I think you should watch this and feel all the love I can feel when I watch this show.

I love the creative process, poor judgement
2 July 2020
I really like this show, to watch the creative process and then see the final result.... however the judges make really poor decisions, that I'm like WHAT? The editing is also a bit too frenetic and sometimes I think I'm gonna have a seizure lol But overall it's very entertaining and working in the fashion industry myself, I really enjoy the challenges. But I'm sure people that are not even remotely related to fashion can also enjoy it. I love Tan, Alexa is ok... But I hope the judgement will improve

I couldn't stop watching... It builds up the tension and you want to see what's going to happen. It has twists and turns which I enjoy in a movie. It's not a masterpiece, but it's a good Thriller and I honestly liked the ending. I recommend it.

What a pleasant surprise
24 December 2019
I watched it all in one sit. I found myself laughing and crying with this show... I could relate to the protagonist so much and I was laughing out loud at times, just because some stuff is so genuine! I'm in love with this show, because I'm her age, recently relocated to a new country and I'm going through the same "putting yourself out there" phase, and it's so amusing to see a TV show that portraits that so well without being cheesy, the ups and downs of dating and being single. I highly recommend it!!!

A delight !!!
21 June 2019
I tried to watch this film when it was released in 2006. I was so young and I had no patience for it, I didn't even finish it. Didn't care for it.- So in 2019, I decided to watch it again, and what a delightful surprise! And this film turned out to become one of my favourites! So, it's all about timing... and this movie has a beautiful way of getting to that point. Forget about the logical, rational, analytical for a couple of hours and you'll be delighted too, because it is a wonderful plot.

Very entertaining sci-fi
31 March 2019
I really enjoyed it. Watched the whole thing in 2 seats. I couldn't stop watching, it can be a bit slow in the beginning but give it a chance, it gets better after the second episode. There's sci-fi , a bit of a thrill, love, drama , the characters dealing with loss and loneliness, doubts about love... what's not to like? I recommend it for the people who likes the genre. And yes, it has a black mirror touch, it can remind you of the "hand the DJ" episode, but it has it's own uniqueness..

Disappointing and Meaningless
6 October 2016
Warning: Spoilers
I was very anxious to see this film and I had high hopes for this one. I'm so disappointed and kind of angry too. Yes - The cinematography is stunning but it is not enough to save this mess. I know so many fans are all about "some people don't get it, some people can't understand its real beauty and meaning..." - sorry, but this is NOT a good film. It could have been great, the idea of it is actually good, but very bad executed.

There are so many unanswered questions, there are scenes that makes us think they are supposed to mean something and they are going to have a sort of explanation, but ended not meaning anything. Also, the beginning of the film and the trailer makes you think that the main character, Jesse, has a dark side or a secret, something evil, but she only has the "special beauty and glow" that makes other models envy her in a very weird way. Jesse does not have her parents and she has some kind of weird dreams or visions, which makes us think she is more than just a pretty face, but those aspects were not developed or made any difference in the story.

The feeling I had after watching The Neon Demon was that they started to write a plot that was supposed to go one way, but then got too lazy to keep up and develop the idea, so just decided to add some "chocking"aspects like necrophilia and cannibalism to try to save it.

If you want a good horror movie about how far someone can go for fame and beauty, watch Starry Eyes (2014), is not as glamorous and so visually beautiful, but delivers the message and has a better plot, besides, it's real horror.
