Clowns and Suicide (2003)
Grrrrrreat!
Yes, I know I may be biased (because I am in this flick) but I think it is great. Now, I know nobody will ever read this comment I am making, but I think Jay Bauman is one sexy B*tch! C'mon Jay, cough up the $35 and put your picture on this thing!!! Having a hit flick will get you a chick! Seriously.
Now lets all be good Flag-waving God-fearing robots and order this movie! If you have a problem with it, you can come tell me about it in Korea, I would love to have some visitors! But I am sure you will fall in love with both its charm and lack of morals. Yes, you may be offended by every word spoken, but then isn't that the spice that makes life worth living? Now get off your sorry cottage-cheese butt and order this movie! Ohhh.....sorry you have to stay on your butt....you can only order it on the internet! So, stay on your cottage cheese butt
Austin Powers in Goldmember (2002)
Terrible
The only thing that was funny in this movie was the opening scene. Other than that it REALLY sucked. There were so many re-used jokes from the previous films it was unbelievable! They tried to make it okay sometimes by making jokes about the fact that they were re-using old jokes. C'mon people, wake up! That doesn't make it funny, that makes it even dumber, becasue that explicitly shows you that this was made to make money and nothing else. Snore.
Thir13en Ghosts (2001)
Funniest movie I have seen in a while
I just watched "Thir13en Ghosts" on DVD last night and I must say I haven't laughed that hard in a long time. This film is a joke. The plot has so many holes in it you have to wonder what ended up on the cutting room floor. Speaking of the cutting room floor what was with all of those quick jump cuts? There was no purpose! My theory is that they had to cut quickly so the audience couldn't tell how poorly the make-up effects were done on the ghosts.
And finally, I have to mention the end. Why, oh why, did the black housekeeper make a little hip-hop beat out of the ancient satanic chant? Why would she do it, did she see a purpose in it? It looked to me like she was mindlessly fumbling around with the controls, but then out came this nice sounding record scratch, and not even on a record. It was a reel-to-reel! I bursted out laughing so hard, I missed the following few lines.
There is now other way to describe this than TERRIBLE. Un-Godly flawed on completely TERRIBLE!
Pootie Tang (2001)
Pootie Tang is my Main Damie
This is absurdist humor at its best. Nothing about it really makes any sense at all. As I can see from the comments on here, most people didn't like that, but that is the point. It is obvious that Louis CK and company did everything they could to make sure this film didnt make a lick of sense. And boy howdy did it work. This movie has broken down a room full of grown men into tears of laughter on numerous occasions, thanks to the magic of DVD. The trick to loving this movie is expecting nothing because that is what it gives you. But I am certain if you go in with that mind-set, you will die with laughter. Sepatown!
The Royal Tenenbaums (2001)
Perfection
This is one of those rare films that makes you smile all the time. The Wilson's did this twice before with "bottle Rocket" and "Rushmore". I am in awe of their ability to frame the actors so simply but so perfectly. Also the colors in this film are amazing. Worth seeing multiple times to catch everything packed into the film. Bravo.
One Night at McCool's (2001)
Very Strange
The story is nothing new. But the script is rather clever and the situations are set up very well. Everything seems to blend together logically. But the ending is wild. It completely shifts gears and goes nuts. And I LOVED it! It hits you like a right hook to your nose. I couldn't believe what i was seeing and when I got my bearings back I fell down with laughter. Worth seeing for the end alone. But dont fast forward to the end, you need the rest of the film to set you in the right frame of mind.
