Moneyball (2011)
Much ado about nothing
26 September 2011
This is my take on a movie called Moneyball that I got to view with a good friend today at noon...Had potential, had a decent set of stars cast, and of course being filmed at the Oakland Coluseum (or whatever they call it these days) with panoramic sights of the beautiful Bay Area and surroundings...a lot of interesting stats and go against the norm dynamics and all the stuff a good movie has to promise...Not one damn sex scene and a lot of nothing to say after 2 hours and 40 bucks light ...I'd say give me an old "Curb Your Enthusiasm" in front of the boob tube any day...That's the unconveluted and slightly embellished truth...Wait for it to come out on DVD so you can fill the boredom with some of your own extracurricular activity...Sincerely not enlightened by the waste of money that I didn't even spend...;+>

Angela Anaconda (1999–2002)
Hooray-It's Back!
10 February 2004
I was so happy to see that Nickelodeon brought back this show. It's delightful and quite original. Angela is often overlooked by her teacher and family or blamed for doing things she didn't do, which I think lots of kids can relate to. She always makes the best of things, though, and gets into lots of entertaining situations with her friends. Cute without being TOO cute, I recommend you give it a try.

Fun & Funny Time Capsule
27 January 2004
This is a charming little movie that never fails to make me laugh out loud no matter how many times I've seen it. Terrific acting by the entire cast. Why none of them became big stars is a mystery to me. The fashions, hairstyles and language are a 1985 time capsule.

I suggest you see it for yourself, but not on commercial television, because they edit out all the good jokes!

Eye and Ear Candy

Oh, how I love this beautiful, musical movie. The attention to detail is amazing. The costumes, the homes, the furniture, the characters, the streets, the turn-of-the-century atmosphere--just wonderful! The story is quite sweet and there isn't an unpleasant moment to be found.

A very young and fresh Judy Garland is perfect in every way. The rest of the cast of Hollywood pros are terrific also. Several classic songs highlight this great American film, and I highly recommend it!

White Palace (1990)
Gross-very gross
5 January 2004
This movie was painful to watch. It caught my eye because I liked James Spader so much in Secretary, but certainly not in this piece of garbage. Sarandon's character is so rough, crude and repulsive (the older part didn't bother me) and it was embarrassing to watch too-fancy-and-fluffy James Spader gaze longingly at her and ache for her. I don't know, I just couldn't suspend reality enough to go along with the story. Lots of unintentional laughs if you can keep your eyes on the screen long enough. Oh, and all the supporting characters were extremely unappealing as well. Max's dead wife had the best role in the film, she was the only one I didn't hate.

Family Feud (1999– )
Richard Karn Rules
22 December 2003
I really enjoy Family Feud with Richard Karn as the host. His personality is very warm and friendly and he runs the show with ease. Louis Anderson always seemed uncomfortable. Hopefully Family Feud will keep Mr. Karn around for many years to come!

Unintentional Laughs Aplenty

Never have I seen so much hokey over-acting crammed into one small movie. Corny melodrama that had me laughing until I cried. I guess the viewer was supposed to feel the underlying sexual tension between Lee Horsley and Ann Jillian, rooting for their love to prevail, but they were both so utterly unappealing and unattractive I didn't care what happened to them. Every over used soap-opera gag is used to the hilt in this thing: Tearfully running in the rain, forbidden phone calls, desperate, longing gazes, loads of cheesy dialog--yuck. I will say, however, I did enjoy this movie--AS A COMEDY!

Pastel-Colored Magic!
5 May 2002
I fell in love with Bye Bye Birdie the first time I saw it on the Late, Late Show as a little girl. To me, everything about it is extremely appealing. It really captures that pastel-colored, sweet, fun era of the early sixties (when I was born). The clothes, the songs, the witty dialog, cute Bobby Rydell, Dick Van Dyke, Jesse (Conrad) Pearson and a million other things make Bye Bye Birdie one of my all time favorites. If you haven't seen it yet, give it a chance!

Unappealing!
17 August 2001
I found this show, and everyone on it, lame and unappealing. The writers and cast seem to think they have created something really special and offbeat but I don't agree! The actress that plays the mom is always smirking and everyone involved over acts to the utmost degree. Thank goodness for my remote control!
