Cleopatra Entertainment has announced that they will be giving Frost, a “chilly thriller” directed Brandon Slagle (Attack of the Unknown), a Digital and Blu-ray release on October 11th – and to help start building the hype, we’re proud to share the Exclusive first look at the film’s trailer! You can check it out in the embed above.
Scripted by Robert Thompson from a story by James Cullen Bressack, Frost centers on
a young woman and her father who have to fight for survival after being stranded on a remote mountainside during a storm.
The synopsis doesn’t mention (but you can see in the trailer) that the situation is made even scarier and more desperate by the fact that the young woman in the story also happens to be pregnant. The film stars Vernon Wells – who counts The Road Warrior and Commando among his 240+ screen acting credits – and Devanny Pinn,...

Even though Tony Vlachos is now the King of “Survivor” — he’s the only man to win twice, in “Cagayan” and “Winners at War” — he has a message for fans out there who are calling him the “G” word. “Love my fans and thank you All for the props, however, I am Not the ‘Greatest’ player!” he recently tweeted. “I’ve never been the ‘greatest’ at anything, but I am ‘good’ at a lot of things and ‘Survivor’ is one of them. It’s impossible to label Any player the ‘Greatest’ in my Honest opinion!”

“Survivor: Winners at War” sees 20 winners return to duke it out. It’s the greatest crop of contenders the game has ever seen. In my weekly “Battlelines” recap I will diagnose the casualty and declare who I think won the episode’s battle and who is best positioned to win the war. Please feel free to give me your thoughts in the comments below.
Casualties
A pair of Queens flushed out of the game
It was a brutal week in “Survivor” as two of the game’s greatest characters and players were voted out: Sandra Diaz-Twine and Parvati Shallow. Both were returning winners in season 20 for “Heroes vs. Villains” and we’re able to snag 1st and 2nd place respectively. So, what went wrong for these “Survivor” legends?
I’ll start with Sandra. Let me quickly say, going into this season I thought she was the greatest “Survivor” player of all time.

“Survivor” fans are up in arms about Queen Sandra Diaz-Twine sitting out challenge after challenge during Season 40. In the past, host Jeff Probst has always said that castaways cannot sit out back-to-back comps, so what’s the deal? Well, Sandra’s fellow “Winners at War” castaway Sarah Lacina has taken to social media to clarify the long-standing “Survivor” rule: “People keep saying ‘I thought Sandra can’t sit out back to back challenges.’ The rule is you can’t sit out the reward challenge then the immunity challenge. Since we are having immunity/reward challenges, the rule doesn’t apply in this situation.”

As Gold Derby predicted, Tyson Apostol was voted out of “Survivor: Winners at War” in this week’s fourth episode. This former champion from “Survivor: Blood vs. Water” was anticipating an “easy vote” at the Dakal camp after everyone said they’d be on board with Nick Wilson going home. However, Tyson was thrown for a loop at tribal council when he was eliminated by a 7-1-1 vote over Nick and Kim Spradlin-Wolfe (Nick cast the sole vote for Kim in case Tyson had an immunity idol).

After three episodes and four tribal councils on “Survivor: Winners at War,” the 40th season in 20 years of the landmark reality TV competition series, the Dakal tribe has established itself as the dominant tribe, forcing the opposing Sele tribe to vote out three players while only having to sacrifice one of their own (Amber Mariano). In part two of the season premiere Dakal went to their only tribal council where they stuck mostly together as a tribe to eliminate Amber, leaving Kim Spradlin-Wolfe in the dark about their decision to split the votes between the two women.
Now, heading into Wednesday’s fourth episode, nine players remain at Dakal: Tyson Apostol (“Blood vs. Water”), Sophie Clarke (“South Pacific”), Sandra Diaz-Twine (“Pearl Islands” and “Heroes vs. Villains”), Wendell Holland (“Ghost Island”), Yul Kwon (“Cook Islands”), Sarah Lacina (“Game Changers”), Kim Spradlin-Wolfe (“One World”), Tony Vlachos (“Cagayan”) and Nick Wilson (“David vs.

Love her or hate her, Sandra Diaz-Twine is one of the most well-known people to ever play the game of “Survivor.” During the third episode of “Winners at War,” the self-appointed queen made this startling announcement: “Here I am for the fifth time, and once this is over I’m retiring from the game. So this season I’m going to switch gears. I want to prove my word to this tribe.” Will you miss Queen Sandra on “Survivor”? Vote in our poll below.

Sandra’s first season was “Pearl Islands” (Season 7), which she won with a 6-1 jury vote over Lillian Morris thanks in part to her “anybody but me” strategy. The queen returned in “Heroes vs. Villains” (Season 20) as part of the villains tribe, ultimately defeating Parvati Shallow and Russell Hantz by a 6–3–0 jury vote.

“Survivor” may have its highs and lows, but those highs keep fans coming back for more. Who could have known in the summer of 2000 that a reality show about strangers stranded on an island would become one of the most enduring franchises in television history? Fans were first bewitched by that first season, later titled “Survivor: Borneo,” with its cast of colorful characters like Richard Hatch, Rudy Boesch and Sue Hawk. The series became a smash hit and go on to produce 40 seasons, two per year. Above, tour our photos of the 12 best “Survivor” seasons ranked from worst to best. (We’ll update it again after “Survivor: Winners at War” concludes in May 2020.)

As “Survivor: Winners at War,” the 40th season of the landmark reality competition series “Survivor,” continues to heat up we take a look back at some of the most notorious villains to play the game in its first 20 years (see above). Among our top picks are two champions currently competing for their second win and the $2 million cash prize on Season 40.
Without a doubt the nastiest player in series history is Russell Hantz, a two time runner-up in three seasons that was able to find hidden immunity idols without clues and use psychological warfare against his tribe mates in order to further his own game. In his second outing on “Heroes vs. Villains” he made the final tribal council for the second straight time, but received zero votes to win. All the votes went to “Winners at War” players Sandra Diaz-Twine and Parvati Shallow.

In quite possibly the most entertaining “Survivor” deleted scene of all time, Ethan Zohn realizes he’s “not the greatest liar in the world” so he goes to Parvati Shallow for advice. “Parvati and I needed to role play a little bit,” Ethan admits in the hours leading up to Danni Boatwright‘s elimination from “Winners at War.” When he pretends to be nervous about lying to Danni, Parvati slaps his face and scolds, “Bad Ethan!” (watch above). Seriously CBS, why was this scene not in the episode?!

It was established in the very first season of “Survivor” in 2000 that playing the game as a winking devil was a viable way to win. Richard Hatch made an alliance and voted out everyone not in that alliance, which was considered taboo at a time when viewers and Richard’s fellow castaways were still trying to figure out the true nature of the show. He also employed a cocky attitude, which naturally led to other villainous winners playing the game with swagger. That was certainly true of Brian Heidik in “Survivor: Thailand” and Todd Herzog in “Survivor: China,” who played their respective castmates like a fiddle. Tour our “Survivor” gallery above featuring nine of the most diabolical winners in the show’s history.

Calm, cool and collected is how fans of “Survivor” would describe Yul Kwon, winner of “Cook Islands” (Season 13) and current front-runner to triumph on “Winners at War” (Season 40). Even though this 44-year-old New Yorker has been away from the “Survivor” community for over a decade (a storyline that dominated Wednesday’s two-hour season premiere), he’s still currently leading Gold Derby’s odds for who will win the $2 million check.

Yul currently tops our winner’s chart with 5/1 odds, followed by his “Cook Islands” buddy Parvati Shallow (“Micronesia”) in the runner-up position at 6/1 odds. Yul and Parvati have yet to sync up since they’re starting the game on opposite tribes. Cancer survivor Ethan Zohn (“Africa”) then comes in third place at 7/1 odds. There is plenty of rooting factor going into “Survivor: Winners at War,” in which 20 former champions will face off to determine who is the ultimate “Survivor” winner of them all. The cast includes champs who earned their victory with decency and others who lied, cheated and stole their way to the top. Ethan Zohn, who won all the way back in Season 3, “Africa,” was one of those affable winners who didn’t hurt people’s feelings too much. On the flip side, Season 28 (“Cagayan”) winner Tony Vlachos played a ruthless game, backstabbing friends left and right to claw his way to the end. No matter the strategy, every cast member on “Winners at War” proved successful at the game of “Survivor” and all of them have their fans. So which male “Survivor” winner are you rooting for to take home a second victory in “Winners at War”? Vote in our poll below.

When it was announced that EA was bringing back the Star Wars Battlefront franchise, fans rejoiced. The original LucasArts series was beloved, as it allowed players to participate in some of the greatest ground battles in Star Wars history, across both the Prequel and Original Trilogy eras.
