Three decades ago, Nas and DJ Premier teamed up for a run of songs on the rapper’s acclaimed debut album Illimatic. In the time since, both have become hip-hop legends in their own right. But later this year, Nas and DJ Premier will go all-in on their first full-length collaborative album. The title and release date for the record have not yet been revealed, but its newly-released first single, “Define My Name,” offers a preview of what they have coming.

As various critics groups and awards bodies dole out their top films of the year, it can be hard to parse which ones are actually worth paying attention to. Following our top 50 films of 2023, one such list has arrived today with Film Comment’s annual end-of-year survey. Revealed at a special live talk last night, Todd Haynes’s May December, Kelly Reichardt’s Showing Up, and Martin Scorsese’s Killers of the Flower Moon grabbed the top three spots, while Eduardo Williams’s The Human Surge 3, Lisandro Alonso’s Eureka, and Víctor Erice’s Close Your Eyes topped the best undistributed films.

This article contains spoilers for Lessons in Chemistry through episode 4.
There’s no disputing that Six-Thirty is the very best boi. All dogs are the very best dogs. And Six-Thirty is no exception. In Lessons in Chemistry — both the novel and the Apple TV+ series — Six-Thirty is a thoughtful, protective stray who loves his family fiercely and is treated like an equal in return. Author Bonnie Garmus originally brought the pup to life on the page, handing over a hefty portion of the narrative duties to Elizabeth Zott’s best friend.
In a fantastical bit of storytelling, Garmus asks readers to believe that Elizabeth is able to successfully teach Six-Thirty to recognize nearly a thousand distinct words. So when we reach passages that feature his inner monologue, it feels like a really intelligent dog is talking directly to us. While this concept requires some suspension of disbelief, Garmus does an...

Elizabeth Zott's life comes crashing down in Lessons In Chemistry Season 1 Episode 3, "Living Dead Things".
As Elizabeth deals with Calvin's death, some unexpected news pushes her to work faster and harder than ever.
Lessons In Chemistry Season 1 Episode 3 opens interestingly, with Elizabeth and Calvin's dog Six-Thirty becoming sentient in a voiceover.
The choice is odd, but works for the story. Six-Thirty explains how he found Elizabeth in the first place, working through the details carefully.
He was meant to be a military dog, training with rottweilers and dobermans, unsure of how he fits into the picture.
Six-Thirty escapes from the training academy, left out and alone, until Elizabeth finds him rustling through her trashcan. She takes him in, and it's the first time he's ever known love.
After Calvin's accident, B.J. Novak's Six-Thirty is distraught. He runs home to find Elizabeth, and as viewers, we're brought back into the human headspace.

Note: This story contains spoilers from “Only Murders in the Building” Season 3, Episode 9.
After pictures of Selena Gomez in a wedding dress went viral on social media in March, “Only Murders in the Building” fans started speculating how it could fit into the Hulu comedy’s plot for Season 3.
Tuesday’s new episode answered that question, as Mabel donned Joy’s (Andrea Martin) mother’s wedding dress, left behind in Charles’ (Steve Martin) apartment, while the trio raced to a courthouse to clear Loretta Durkin’s (Meryl Streep) name after finding Donna DeMeo (Linda Edmond) to be the latest suspect in Ben Glenroy’s (Paul Rudd) murder.
Showrunner John Hoffman told TheWrap, in an interview conducted in accordance with WGA guidance and facilitated through his personal publicist, that the idea for the wedding dress came later in the planning for Season 3 and that filming the trio outside of New York...

Has Ben Glenroy’s killer already been unmasked?
During Only Murders in the Building‘s penultimate Season 3 episode, Charles, Oliver and Mabel piece together the night of CoBro’s murder and deduce that Death Rattle producer Donna DeMeo poisoned her leading man. Fearing one bad review — the shredded document! — would taint Cliff’s Broadway debut (and end her son’s career before it even began), Donna laced one of Ben’s beloved Schmackary’s cookies with rat poison. He ate — nay, inhaled — the cookie, then wrote “f–king pig” on his own dressing room mirror before going out on stage.

So, it wasn't Dickie or Loretta?
While it was fun piecing together the clues about who Ben's killer might be, one can never be sure about the person they think is the killer, and that's the beauty of the show.
The killer usually turns out to be the person one would least expect, and no one expected that to be Donna.
Only Murders In the Building Season 3 Episode 9 saw the trio reunite and recreate the last thirty minutes before Ben passed out on stage, and after hitting several dead ends, they finally emerged with the lead suspect.
Even if Mabel, Oliver, and Charles had not been working together for most of the season, they did not lose their regular beat, and when they dove into Ben's case together, it was like they always were together.
C-Can we just take a beat to appreciate how magical this is? The three of us,...

Actor Michael Keaton has a long list of credits, known for films such as Mr. Mom, Multiplicity, and Beetlejuice. In 1989, he landed the coveted role of Bruce Wayne in Batman.
Now in his seventies, Keaton has worked alongside many incredible A-list actors throughout his 45-year career in Hollywood. However, there he refused to work with one well-known actor due to a previous romantic relationship. Despite Keaton’s resistance, the popular A-lister made it into the Batman franchise.
