In its second buy into a U.S. production company in less than six months, ITV has acquired a controlling interest in Cake Boss producer High Noon Entertainment. In December Duck Dynasty maker Gurney Productions sold a controlling stake to ITV for $40M. In the High Noon deal, ITV will pay $25.65M upfront for 60% of the company with a further payment in 2015 contingent on High Noon’s performance. In keeping with the way it structures most of its acquisitions deals, ITV also has a put and call option to buy the rest of the company which can be exercised in four-six years. High Noon was founded in 1997 by former Liberty Media executive Jim Berger, and partners Duke Hartman and Sonny Hutchison. When it comes to cutting-edge world records, the one for "Most Watermelons Chopped On A Stomach" in one minute has to be near the top of the list.
The current record stands at 27, but Sinn Bodhi, a sideshow performer based in Las Vegas, is hoping to go a cut above that exalted number.
Bodhi recently made the record attempt on the TruTV series, "Guinness World Records Gone Wild" and Stuart Claxton, official adjudicator for Guinness World Records, was very specific about what needed to be done.
"Each melon must be cleanly cut into two separate pieces," he explained.
One of Bodhi's friends helped out by handing him watermelons while another donated his stomach.
That's a true friend because he won't get a cut of the fame -- even if he gets cut by Bodhi's sword.
The complete clip will air Feb. 14 on TruTV.

Having gotten his start fronting the proudly offbeat MTV Sports back in the early ’90s, along with being a fixture at various MTV Rock N’ Jock contests where celebrities liked to pretend they were athletes, Cortese has made a steady career for himself as an actor and TV personality. The former Melrose Place and Veronica’s Closet star is now hosting truTV’s Guinness World Records Gone Wild, — premiering Thursday at 8pm — which features everyday folks trying to forge their name in [...]...
