Despite what you may have read on Twitter or been told in The CW promo for "Original Sin," the Ripper did not return to The Vampire Diaries tonight. Stefan managed to suppress his blood thirsty past self.
Instead, viewers were introduced to an entirely different kind of dangerous being: a crazy, controlling, paranoid, dream-implanting, spell-binding witch named Qetsiyah. And she was totally awesome.
Janina Gavankar (always a TV Fanatic favorite) played this character as both vulnerable and violent, dangerous and deranged. She's not a villain. She's not a protagonist. She's simply a woman scorned... who happens to be a very powerful witch, meaning those that cross her don't end up with their faces cut out of photos.
They end up with their one true love's heart cut out of her body.

I think I know what I liked about Tony Stark when I first encountered him back in Cape Girardeau. I was a cheap-seats journalist who was just rediscovering comic books after forgetting about them for more than a decade, spinning the rack at the drug store, scanning the displays in the bus terminal, killing time in a strange town by reading these relics of my childhood. And liking them.
I particularly enjoyed some of the mags that bore the Marvel Comics logo, and among these, staple-to-staple with Spider-Man, The Hulk, The Avengers – the beginnings of Marvel pantheon – was Tales of Suspense, a title that delivered two stories, two heroes. These were Captain America, a super-patriot I dimly remember enjoying when I was six or seven, and a new guy, Iron Man. His other name was Tony Stark.
There was a lot not to like about ol’ shellhead, as he was sometimes called.

Bonnie is right. She's run into a bit of a "snag" in her quest to defeat Silas and keep Jeremy alive and well.
So this witch explains to Caroline in the following sneak peek at Thursday's Vampire Diaries Season 4 finale, though Bonnie leaves out one tiny detail: she's dead. She's a ghost. She's hanging with Grams on The Other Side, only able to be seen by her friends because The Veil remains down.
Based on the photos from "Graduation," it looks as if Bonnie will actually attend the festivities in this unusual state, prompting the question: Will she be revived before all is said and done?
Or will the finale mark the final appearance of Bonnie Bennett in Mystic Falls? Watch and ponder now:

Dropping the veil between the living and the dead means a bunch of great guest stars.
Previously, on The Vampire Diaries
Up in the Salvatore attic Elena punches some cinder blocks with her fists while Stefan expresses his disappointment that she chose to channel all of her emotional turmoil into hating Katherine instead of love or compassion or some other more girlie emotion. Elena just wants to know where Katherine is so she can rip off her head or tear out her heart or possibly both. Elena half-asses some pull-ups and points out that Stefan wanted to kill Klaus when Stefan re-installed his emotion chip. Ah, but I couldn’t, Stefan reminds her, and he suspects that Elena doesn’t really want to kill Katherine. Elena really wants to kill Katherine. Title card!

With comparatively low scores after his week 8 dances, it wasn't a huge surprise that "Dancing with the Stars" eliminated "Bachelor" star Sean Lowe along with his professional partner, Peta Murgatroyd.
The couple earned nothing but 7s for their two dances of the night, placing them a full 16 points behind the week 8 leaders, Zendaya and Val. Strong support from fans and one of the most currently recognizable names of Season 16 weren't enough to overcome that.
"If Jesus grants me a solid," he'd stay on the show, Sean said before his elimination. That didn't happen. But read on for everything that did happen throughout the "DWTS" week 8 results show.
The week 8 standings
With two dances apiece, each couple could earn as much as 60 points in week 8. No one did, but some did come close.
1. Zendaya and Val Chmerkovskiy -- 58 points
2. Aly Raisman and Mark Ballas -- 56 points
3. Kellie Pickler and Derek Hough...

‘Dancing with The Stars’ has lost another celebrity! In a shocking twist result, fan favorite Jacoby Jones and Sean Lowe were sadly in the bottom two, and one of them had to go home…
The competition is getting more and more intense on Dancing With the Stars! On the May 6 show, Zendaya received a perfect score, Kellie Pickler was given a totally unfair mark from Len Goodman and Sean Lowe found himself at the bottom of the leader board. The "DWTS" results are in and Sean Lowe is going home.
"I've enjoyed every second of it," Sean said after the "DWTS" results were announced. "I truly am blessed to have taken part in this ... What an incredible opportunity."
The "Bachelor" alum and his partner Peta Murgatroyd were at the bottom of the leaderboard after Monday night's performance show with 42 out of a possible 60. His tango disappointed the judges, who saw improvement in him last week, and his trio performance, with Sharna Burgess (Andy Dick's former partner) added to the mix, also failed to impress. Judge Carrie Ann Inaba told him he was out of sync one too many times.
The rest of this week's "DWTS" results, however, were quite shocking. Country singer Kellie Pickler was in the Bottom 3 for the first time this season after her trio paso doble caused some tension amongst the judges. Head judge Len Goodman...

If you watch tonight's episode of "The Vampire Diaries" and think, "Man, this feels like a completely different show!" don't be alarmed. It is, for all intents and purposes, a completely different show.
For those who don't religiously follow TV news, the episode may seem to come out of the blue. Titled "The Originals," features Klaus as the lead character, instead of a secondary player. It leaves behind Mystic Falls and the Salvatore brothers to introduce several new characters in the decadent setting of New Orleans' French Quarter, and strikes a much more adult, dark, complicated tone than we've seen so far on "The Vampire Diaries."
We've been seeing a lot of confusion around Twitter, so we thought we'd answer some of your questions about the backdoor pilot to help ease the transition to "The Originals."
Q: What is a backdoor pilot/planted spinoff, anyway?

Three other programmes nominated four times: Accused and Last Tango in Halifax, and BBC2 Alfred Hitchcock film, The Girl
It was only to be expected that the BBC's acclaimed coverage of the London Olympics would be recognised at the Bafta television awards.
But with three nominations, including Danny Boyle's spectacular opening ceremony, the Olympics has still ended up with one fewer than the BBC2 sitcom that spoofed the preparations for the Games, Twenty Twelve.
The comedy about the fictional Olympic Deliverance Commission and their hapless efforts to stage the 2012 Games is in the running for best sitcom in the nominations announced on Tuesday, with three of its stars, Olivia Colman, Jessica Hynes and Hugh Bonneville also nominated.

The Vampire Diaries Season 4 is on hiatus until April 18.
But TV Line has given fans something rather significant to ponder in the meantime.
The website confirms that Steven R. McQueen will return to The CW drama at some point this spring, though the form he takes is still unknown.
Might Silas pass himself off as the deceased younger brother of Elena? Or might The Other Side be destroyed and Jeremy join a number of other returning characters in Mystic Falls this May?
My guess: considering The Originals is all but guaranteed to be picked up... and it would mean a rash exist for multiple regulars... The Other Side will, indeed, be removed, paving the way for Jeremy and others (Lexi?) to rejoin the series for Season 5.

Grimm, Episode 2.15 “Mr Sandman”
Written by: Alan Difiore
Directed by: Norberto Barba
Airs Friday 9.00pm Est on NBC
In Grimm the Wesen crimes Nick has to solve fall into two types: those concerning Wesen’s with emotional issues (like the Mauzhertz in ‘Of Mouse and Man’ or the Genio Innocuo in ‘The Other Side’) and those concerning Wesen’s with eating-people issues. The show is always at its best with the latter at the center of the tale and this is what we got this week. This Wesen not only morphs into a parasitic fly, it enjoys using its proboscis to lick up the tears of its victims, but only after it has infected their eyeballs with its flesh-eating young. So far, so eewww. Even Monroe has to suppress a gag reflex when reading up on this particular beast.

A couple walks the deserted streets of Manhattan, making date night small talk until they spot a body lying on the sidewalk. The man moves in for a closer look but when he glances back to his date the body disappears. One piercing scream later the woman is bloody and dead on the ground. The man spots a figure moving toward him; he thinks it's that hot new serial killer all the kids are talking about, Son of Sam.
Damon steps into the light of a street lamp and corrects him: “Son of Giuseppe, but, close enough” and tears out the guy's throat as Talking Heads' “Psycho Killer” swells on the soundtrack. A caption identifies the date as 1977, as do the flares the victim is wearing.

Hey, Damon, do you like The Big Apple?
Well, Elena and Rebekah just totally broke your neck and foiled your plan to track down Katherine and force feed the cure to your quasi girlfriend.
How do you like them Big Apples?!?
"Because the Night" took Damon, Elena and Rebekah to New York City and if Frank Sinatra was correct, then the rest of world is in serious trouble. These two most definitely made it there. Can they make it... wherever the heck Katherine is located?
It was a fun twist to see this blonde bombshell and this newly pink-streaked siren team up for a change. We've grown so accustomed to Elena doing something with Stefan and defying Damon. Or hanging out with Damon and irritating Stefan.
Or just always being mixed up in some way with the brothers - getting in between them, deciding between them, prompting peace between them...
