Netflix’s Griselda spent a second week as the top streaming title in the United States, according to Nielsen. It was one of three shows to snag more than a billion minutes of watch time for the week of Jan. 29-Feb. 4.
Mr. and Mrs. Smith also had a solid start for Amazon’s Prime Video, coming in just below the billion-minute mark. HBO’s True Detective also joined the rankings as it reached the midpoint of its fourth season.
Griselda, starring Sofia Vergara as the notorious drug lord, grabbed 1.73 billion minutes of viewing for the week, up about 9 percent from the previous seven days. The other two billion-minute shows were Young Sheldon (1.31 billion minutes on Netflix and Max) and Bluey (1.15 billion on Disney+).

For the first time since the show became exclusive to Peacock, The Office has made the weekly streaming rankings.
The long-running comedy series racked up 602 million minutes of viewing time for the week of Jan. 22-28, good enough for ninth place among library series. It’s the first appearance for The Office — which was a regular entrant in the early days of the Nielsen rankings — since it left Netflix for Peacock at the beginning of 2021.
At the top of the rankings for the week is Griselda, Netflix’s drama about the infamous drug queenpin starring Sofia Vergara. The series had 1.59 billion minutes of watch time over its first four days of release (it premiered Jan. 25). Reacher (741 million minutes) hung on in second place among original series a week after its second season finale on Prime Video, beating out Netflix’s docuseries American Nightmare (676 million).

Not to be confused with the similarly titled “The Woman on the Train” or “The Woman in the Window,” the gripping limited series “The Woman in the Wall” is finally making its U.S. debut after airing overseas last summer.
The gripping thriller, which will get a preview on Paramount+ Friday before officially premiering Sunday on Showtime, stars Golden Globe winner Ruth Wilson as Lorna Brady, a survivor of the Catholic Church-run Magdalene Laundries of Ireland whose daughter was taken from her as a teenager. Her lingering trauma as a result of the experience bleeds into every aspect of her adult life, leading to bouts of sleepwalking and intense paranoia. So when Lorna wakes up one morning to find a dead woman in her house and no recollection of who she is or how she got there, she assumes she’s responsible and quickly hides the body in the walls of her home.

A pretty thing that enchants, but also hurts.” His sentiment couldn’t be more accurate as we see the ups and downs of romance unfold in the preview. Joining Connor in this season are fellow cast members Dani, Journey, Tanner, James, David, Abbey, and Steve. As they speak candidly about their experiences in the testimonial moments,...

Bravo’s “Vanderpump Rules,” Hulu’s “The Kardashians” and TLC’s “90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way” are among the 45 reality programs hoping to nab their first Emmy nominations. This is down from the previous three years, which had 65, 48 and 44 submissions, respectively.
Nomination voting opened on Thursday to members of the Television Academy, with the three juggernaut-rated shows vying for consideration in the outstanding unstructured reality series category.

“Vanderpump” is coming off its biggest season yet after star Tom Sandoval was revealed to be cheating on his partner of nine years, Ariana Madix (with her best friend and fellow co-star Raquel Leviss). Dubbed on social media as “#Scandoval,” the talk surrounding the show’s 10th season has been electrifying, adding another massive hit for the Bravo network, which also steers franchise hits like “Real Housewives” and “Below Deck.

The Emmy Awards went off last night, and some of the best and brightest of TV were honored. Emmy mainstays like Ted Lasso and Succession picked up a ton of awards, but there was also a strong presence of first-season shows like the dystopian Squid Game and sitcom Abbott Elementary.
Miniseries The White Lotus also cleaned up in the Limited Series or Anthology Series category, winning three awards including Best Series. It was initially meant for one season but was such a hit that a second season set in Sicily is now in production.

Abbott Elementary’s creator Quinta Brunson was honored with her first Emmy for writing the show’s pilot, and star Sheryl Lee Ralph also got the Supporting Actress Award for comedy. Going into Sunday’s Emmys, HBO and Netflix were tied with 23 wins apiece after two nights of the Creative Arts awards. The gap between the two rivals only widened during the Primetime ceremony as the premium cable network collected an assortment of statuettes for programs including Succession, The White Lotus and stalwart Last Week Tonight as it again led the pack of winners by outlet.
Bolstered by HBO’s strong showing, Warner Bros. Discovery led all the major media conglomerates with a total of 40 wins. That tally, calculated by The Hollywood Reporter after the TV Academy declined to break out those statistics for the first time this year, was no surprise given that a combined HBO and HBO Max collected a whopping 140 total nominations, with HBO proper clocking in at 108 — enough to edge the 105 mentions that Netflix collected. The Emmys sure looked a lot like the Grammys on Saturday night. The Beatles, Adele, Lizzo and the Super Bowl halftime show were some of the biggest winners at night one of the Creative Arts Emmys, where music took center stage.
Ironically, the Grammy Awards itself didn’t win a major award, but music specials were big winners in key categories including outstanding documentary or nonfiction series, which “The Beatles: Get Back” won. It’s been a while since John, Paul, George and Ringo were thanked at an awards show as much as they were on Saturday night, but the Disney+ series won five Emmys overall — the most of the night, tied with CBS’ “Adele: One Night Only.”
“Adele” was named variety special (pre-recorded). Other big music winners included “Pepsi Super Bowl Lvi Halftime Show Starring Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Mary J. Blige, Eminem, Kendrick Lamar and 50 Cent” with three wins,...

Emmy voters were moved by music, handing out five awards apiece to “The Beatles: Get Back” and “Adele: One Night Only” at Saturday’s portion of the two-night Creative Arts Emmys.
The music of “The Pepsi Super Bowl Halftime Show” was also a big winner, with three awards, including Music Direction for Adam Blackstone.
In the reality TV world, “Love on the Spectrum U.S.,” the Netflix series that follows people on the autism spectrum as they navigate the world of dating and relationships, snagged three Emmys, including ones for casting, picture editing and unstructured reality program. And, RuPaul Charles won his seventh Emmy — in a row — for hosting “RuPaul’s Drag Race.”

The first night of the 2022 Creative Arts Emmy Awards is taking place on Saturday, Sept. 3, and we’ll see where the Primetime ceremony could be heading based on the first wave of winners.
With an evening that features categories for animated program, reality host, documentaries and short form, we could get a strong sense of where some of the support lies for the main ceremony on Monday, Sept. 12.
There are significant history-making moments that can take place.
Barack Obama could become the second U.S. president to win an Emmy for outstanding narrator for Netflix’s “Our Great National Parks.” Dwight Eisenhower won in 1956, while still in office when he picked up the Governors Award “for his use and encouragement of television.”
If Obama wins, he’ll be halfway to Egot status after netting two Grammys for best spoken word album for “Dreams from My Father” (2006) and “The Audacity of...
