Profits at ITV fell slightly in the first half of this year as the network gears up for the Itvx rollout, while total group revenue hit £1.9B (2.3B), ITV Studios’ scripted hours almost doubled in the line with the five-year masterplan and the production arm was making more shows for streamers than ever.
The half-year results, unveiled in the past few minutes, saw Ebita fall 3 to £318M (387M), with a far steeper fall in ITV network’s Media & Entertainment division, which encompasses commissioning and advertising, of 16 to £194M (236M). Producer/distributor ITV Studios grew Ebita by an impressive 31 to £124M (151M).
Having seen profits increase by more than 40 for the full-year last year, ITV put the slight profits decrease down to a boost in content spend of £58M and another £20M in data and technology for Itvx, the streaming service that will launch in Q4 and see shows made available...

Not long after the introduction of the reality and competition program Emmy categories in the early 2000s, the TV academy decided to begin honoring the work of those shows’ presenters by establishing the Best Reality/Competition Host category in 2008. Over the years, the nominees here have hailed from game and talent shows of all kinds, including those structured around dancing, singing, fashion, and food.
Included on the 2022 ballot list below is reigning champion RuPaul of “RuPaul’s Drag Race,” who has triumphed on all six of his consecutive bids for the VH1 series. Others seeking repeat victories include Tim Gunn and Heidi Klum (“Making the Cut;” formerly of “Project Runway”), Jane Lynch (“Weakest Link;” formerly of “Hollywood Game Night”), and Jeff Probst (“Survivor”).
Voting for nominations in this category is not open to the entire academy membership, but rather restricted to members of eight peer groups: casting directors, daytime programming, performers,...

“Ozark” most certainly went out with a bang.
The concluding Netflix drama landed the top spot on Nielsen’s Top 10 list, for the week of May 2-8.
According to Nielsen, “Ozark” netted over 3 billion minutes viewed, an increase of 29 from the week prior, which is when the final episode run debuted on Netflix. Two-thirds of the show’s viewers were in the 35-64 age range.
Coming in second was another ending Netflix show — “Grace and Frankie.”
The Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin starring comedy netted 880 million viewing minutes. It’s audience was 77 female, per Nielsen.
Disney+ landed on the list with “Moon Knight” in third for the week. It had 715 million minutes viewed.
All three shows landed in the Top 10 list for both streaming programs and original streaming programs

Netflix has gone all out with a new game show where you can win money for being a better bullshitter. This may sound too good to be true but believe it. With legendary host Howie Mandel, this trivia game show is based on the contestant knowing little to none of the answers!
The goal is to convince the other contestants who also have a shot of being in the “hot seat” that the correct answer has been given. You then hope they don’t call you out on your bullshit.
“Bullsh*t the game show” has both a simple and a complicated concept!
It looks like nothing more than a few people lying and hoping that their lie won’t get detected. But as the show progresses, things get you quite rilled up. The money ladder and the shenanigans with locks will keep you on the edge of your seat.

Mike Myers’ limited comedic series “The Pentaverate,” about an ancient secret society trying to save the world, didn’t register with Netflix viewers in its first week of streaming, and didn’t make Netflix’s Top 10 Most-Viewed English Language Series chart for the week of May 2-8.
It was the comedian’s first real project since his appearance as a record producer who gives Queen a thumbs down in 2018’s “Bohemian Rhapsody.” While The Guardian found the series “sweet, silly [and] charmingly harmless,” many echoed The Daily Beast, who labeled it “embarrassingly bad.” The series costars Ken Jeong, Keegan-Michael Key, Debi Mazer and Jennifer Saunders.
Meanwhile the series finale of “Ozark” kept the No. 1 spot globally with 102.1 million minutes viewed, up from last week’s 78.4 million. The first season also made the chart, landing at No. 7 with 13.6 million minutes viewed. It’s now been in the Top 10 for nine weeks.

“The Pentaverate,” Netflix’s limited series starring Mike Myers as eight different characters in a story about five “nice” guys who run the entire world, didn’t make a dent in the streamer’s newly released Top 10 rankings.
It’s a significant flop for Myers, who was a box office darling in the ‘90s and early 2000s for his starring in projects including the “Shrek,” “Austin Powers” and “Wayne’s World” films. But as Variety’s review noted, Myer’s heyday is behind him, and “The Pentaverate” points to “a feature, not a bug” in Netflix’s content strategy of “writ[ing] giant checks to anyone who might bring in more viewers.”
The May 2-8 viewing window marked the first full week of availability for Season 4 of “Ozark,” which remained in the No. 1 position with 102.1 million minutes viewed, up from last week’s 78.4 million. As fans rewatch the series or come to...

There’s a line that host Howie Mandel likes to revisit throughout the all-too-brief duration of the first season of Bullsh*t the Game Show, Netflix’s new entrant to its (largely unsuccessful) game-show canon. The contestant has won a significant amount of money answering trivia questions, despite getting a sizable percentage (in some cases, most) of those questions wrong, simply by being able to convince a panel of judges that their answer was right. After the contestant wins, say, 25,000, Mandel will comment on the absurdity of the situation: “You just won 25,000 by knowing absolutely nothing.
