Spin up some margaritas and call over your gals, “Sweet Magnolias” Season 3 is here. Based on the book series by Sherryl Woods, Netflix’s sweet small-town drama follows the intertwined lives of three life-long best friends — Maddie Townsend, Dana Sue Sullivan and Helen Decatur — who call themselves the “Sweet Magnolias.”
Raised together in the idyllic yet gossip-hungry town of Serenity, the trio has been through it all, together. The series follows the stories of the Sweet Magnolias and their families, from the messy first loves and heartbreaks of their kids at Serenity High School to the (even messier) adult trials of romance, parenting and pursuing your dreams.
If you’re wondering who’s who in “Sweet Magnolias,” or who plays them, here’s a handy guide to the residents of Serenity and their tangled family ties.

Exclusive: Lifetime has given a thumbs-up to another ripped from the headlines movie — this time starring network mainstay Sarah Drew.
How She Caught a Killer follows Detective Linda Murphy (Drew), a fresh-out-of-the-police academy rookie who overhears her boss, detective David Goodman (Eric Keenleyside) talking about a serial killer in the area who seems to be targeting sex workers. Teaming up with FBI agent Neil Carter (Jamall Johnson), Linda fights to go undercover to help solve the murders and, if all goes accordingly, capture a serial killer.
Delilah Hamlin is also set to star as a former sex worker and aspiring nurse who is the killer’s first victim.
Inspired by a true story, How She Caught a Killer will debut Saturday, September 16 at 8p/7c (new date) on Lifetime.

It’s almost the end of another year…another grueling, relentless, shuffle around the pitiless sun. But before that: more content! HBO Max’s list of new releases for December 2022 is filled with a handful of exciting original TV series.
December 2022 truly is TV’s time to shine on HBO Max. Things get started on day one with the release of Gossip Girl season 2 (Dec. 1). That will be followed by His Dark Materials on Dec. 5. Adapting The Amber Spyglass, this season promises to be the most action-packed yet for the BBC/HBO fantasy collaboration. December 8 sees the arrival of Doom Patrol season 4. This DC comic property doesn’t have the cultural cache of some of its CW contemporaries but when it’s rolling, it might be one of the best comic series around.
Now that Warner has mostly scuttled its simultaneous streaming/theatrical release strategy, there aren’t many big original movies to speak of.

Outside of "Die Hard," the filmography of Shane Black, and also the masterpiece that is "Reindeer Games," Christmas action movies are few and far between, which often leads us to the tired debate of whether "Die Hard" even counts. Thankfully, director Tommy Wirkola is about to unleash a very welcome present to even things out this year with "Violent Night." A murderous Santa Clause is nothing new when you take into account movies like "Christmas Evil" or "Silent Night, Deadly Night." Where this film differs, however, is that David Harbour's Santa is taking names, not due to his own homicidal rage, but because he's saving a family from a group of mercenaries taking them hostage.
Between "Black Widow" and "Hellboy," Harbour seems to have made a name for himself playing red-suited characters kicking butt. The color suits him well. It's one thing to imagine the "Stranger Things" star going...
