Great Beginning of a Promising Season
claudio_carvalho11 February 2017
General Hammond is pressing Jack to find a substitute for Daniel Jackson. Colonel Chekov wants the participation of a Russian scientist; Jonas Quinn is trying to convince Sam or Teal'c to be the replacement; the Pentagon sends the annoying Dr. Rodney McKay. Out of the blue, Master Bra'tac summons Teal'c since his wife is dying. Meanwhile Colonel O'Neill test the X302 fighter developed using the Naquadria brought by Jonas. When they return to the SGC, they find that they are unable to dial the Stargate that may explode. Teal'c I also unable to return to the SGC. Soon they learn that the Stargate Command is under attack by Anubis and their only chance is to use the X302 to contact the Asgardian; but Jonas advises that the fighter will not work adequately since the project has a mistake.

"Redemption Part 1" is a great beginning of a promising season. The Goa 'uld attack seems to be full of action, under the command of the frightening and dangerous Anubis. The ridiculous treatment of Teal'c's son to him is terrible. Fortunately the annoying Dr. Rodney McKay has a minor participation in this show. Jonas Quinn seems to be the replacement of Daniel Jackson. My vote is eight.

Stargate NASA adventure!
robrosenberger30 July 2012
Warning: Spoilers
A two-part season-opener that actually grips the chest. Anubis has found a way to destroy Earth by sending a resonant energy pulse through the stargate. They have two days to find a solution. Rodney McKay and Jonas Quinn (Corin Nemec) help Sam. It ends with a fantastic NASA adventure, in which just about everything goes realistically wrong, with Jack flying an experimental, overburdened spacecraft into the atmosphere, trying to open a hyperspace window in which to drop the stargate. Teal'c is off-world after the death of his wife, and leads an attack on Anubis' weapon, with his underage son. Finally, the world saved, Jack accepts Jonas into SG1. That part's a little contrived, but Nemec is pleasant enough. Also enjoy a lil' Aaron Douglas (BATTLESTAR GALACTICA) as a despicable jaffa.

Doom and Gloom

Always doom and gloom in the SG1, buts its a great way to start of season 6. Fun to see some new and some returning cast members get in on the action.
