To Be Continued

The SGC receives Martouf and two Tok'ra and Martouf tells that Sam's father Jacob has been captured by Sokar and sent to be tortured on the infamous prison on Netu. The place is like hell and impossible to flee and only Jolinar has ever escaped but has never told how to Martouf. They are worried since Sokar intends to subdue the System Lords and consequently the galaxy. The SG-1 travels with Martouf to rescue Jacob and Teal'c pilots the spacecraft since there is no Stargate on Netu. Martouf tries to retrieve Jolinar's memories to learn how she escaped from Netu, but the process is too painful for Sam. Martouf, Jack, Sam and Daniel travel to the planet in pods and Teal'c stays in orbit to bring them back. However they are captured and Sam believes that Bynarr, who is the responsible for Netu, was in love with Jolinar and let she go. Meanwhile Teal'c is attacked by spaceships sent by Sokar. Will the SG-1 find Jacob and flee from Netu?

"Jolinar's Memories" is an entertaining episode with a flawed premise. How can a skilled military team go to a mission in a planet without knowing the means of escape from the location especially having the background that only one person has ever escaped from the place? Unfortunately the episode is to be continued and the viewer will know the fate of the SG-1 and his friends only on the next show. My vote is seven.

Escape from Hell

I've said it before and I'll say it again, Carter puts in overtime saving the butts of everyone in SG1 and beyond. Decent storyline development and cliffhanger.

Was also hell to watch

Can't take the campy. Been watching series. Allowing for the 90's style, it is good scfi. Better script writing than in scfi today. So, getting into it, then just can't take anymore of the campy, one-liners of Col. O'Neill. Obviously someone said "do more of that!", well not surprised. (Majority is of a The Simpsons mentality so had to adjust tv accordingly to bovine audience). Check.

But, was a sophisticated "nerd" following that took the scfi seriously. Then comes O'Neil's, "wow, spare the details." just rush in to a blind situation. Then, "I hate surprises... where's the details" and acting like a bad case of ADHD and low IQ. And, he's a Air Force Colonel...?Great. That's about right.

Then Daniel with...his long.... on set....of ...speaking... words... Arrgh! Where's the stop button!. So much for 11 seasons of something to watch (and nothing else out there, that was a hope. Oh well). (Like "Forever in a Day" when his wife dies and says the I love you bit. Ah... I think you're supposed to say the same(?), maybe fast so she hears, because, ah..., time is sorta fast!? But just usual deer in headlights, long process pausing, and then says the line after dead). Brilliant!
